Toei really shooting themselves in the foot snuffing out this project. Dragonball Z Abridged made me enthusiastic about Dragonball again. That enthusiasm has since waned and died off again in the years since Abridged was stopped. I was buying the games, buying the movies, even buying soundtracks... Now, I don't really give a shit again. Lost interest someway through the Goku Black ark and stopped following ever since. Came back for Tournament of Power just for a bit but now that's over too and as far as I'm aware Dragonball has put out no new content. (That isn't true, but it may as well be true for me. I didn't realize _Frieza Black_ wasn't just a meme anymore.) The *whole reason* I got back into Dragonball as an adult was because of the Abridged series.
One thing that must be said: at the end of the video you said at least we got more DBZA content from totally not marks review. While they have not made DBZA, TFS has not stopped making DBZA related content since the end of the cell saga. They made two series with original animations that are ongoing: DBZA Shorts and HFIL: Home for Infinite Losers. Both of which continue stories with DBZA characters during the time skip between end of cell and buu. With the shorts focusing on the heroes and HFIL on the defeated villains.
in my opinion it falls into the same category as the Emperor's text-to-speech guy's new series that go away from 40k. yes, the humor is still there and even the characters you love are still there (spiritually in the latter) but... it isn't the same, as it you part of the fun was taking the original story and messing with the characters and narrative but without the backdrop of following the story (or the entire setting in the latter) it can feel like a DBZ twitter comic that blew up because it was really funny but a series and sometimes these things arent meant to be stretched out

It’s weird to think this series is a decade old now. While something tells me religious views would cause a clash if I were to ever meet Scott in person, I have to thank him and his crew for the memories this series (and Hellsing after I found out it exists 2-3 years ago) gave me.
I like DBZA a lot, but I am 99% sure that it does not qualify as being fair use. Saying that something is a parody does not change the fact that they are using copyrighted characters, music, footage, etc. There voice actors also make a conscious effort to sound similar to their Funimation counterparts. Most importantly, DBZA functions as a market replacement to the official dub. You could watch the show on CZcams as opposed to buying the official release, and have a very similar, if not better, experience. Civil trials function on a standard of "more likely than not" (51:50). With all of the above in mind, I don't think that they would ever actually survive a court case.

Are you coming back to do the Buu arc yet? I bet this video is secretly a hint that you guys are leading up to the Buu arc! Why aren't you doing the Buu arc yet?! I don't care that you guys want to do other things, we fans DESERVE to see the Buu arc from you!" to stop pestering them. Seriously, you can find these people in literally every TFS vid comment section. I'm just a bystander and I'm annoyed by it, can't imagine what it must be like for them...

They discontinued the Dragon Shortz. They still have HFIL which is animated by Devil Artemis.
