The amount of passion you have for these deer is unreal. It really shows how much you love it, and I am glad you put it out to us to embrace that passion with you.

Been decoying those big prarie bucks for years out on the plains and there’s nothing more fun. Great footage of that buck coming in to the deke. Anyone saying it’s not the same deer, pause at 35:50 and you can see the right shoulder clearly - same deer. Great job boys.

Lee, I just started watching you this past year, and im new to guns and the hunting world. This my friend, is my biggest fear, and exactly what I wouldve done. I take my hat off to you sir and your video man as well. You arent just a CZcamsr, or a hunter; you're someone I look up to both as a man and fellow human being. Thank you for being the type of hunter one day I hope I become. Thank you for showing the world how it should be. I realize this couldve ended without the deer and how it can happen. Its why im 44 yrs old and HAVE NEVER HUNTED. But watching you and many others its why I believe I can and should be hunting. My heart and head are in the right place. Im not going out there to poach or injury animals on purpose. Im going out, to help my wife and I fill our freezer and because I loved hunting since I was a boy, but Ive always been scared of this moment. No more. I'll take a year and get confident with my shots and make sure I go with someone who's been doing hunting for years(my dads neighbor), but I need to, I want to, and I have nothing but love and respect for any animal who gives his life for my family to eat. Thank you Lee, for being an amazing man and great role model. And if you or anyone else reading this has advice, I will definately take all I can get. Keep hunting and creating and ill keep on watching.

The sheer determination and persistence you've shown on this hunt and all the others I've watched, is unmatched. It's one thing to see the deer walk away and live , but to be able to follow through with it, find the same deer watch him for days and stalk to within only a few yards, bravo. Your passion for the deer and hunting in general doesn't waiver, no matter what state or terrain. your abilities to do this, along with the ability to gain permission from everywhere you go are a testimony to your passion. I hit a deer high this season. I think it completely missed anything vital and I didn't find any blood. Would have been my biggest deer to date. I haven't hunted since because I've been demoralized but I am planning to finally get back out tomorrow. I love the messages you give to your audience and the production of these videos are top notch! Can't wait for the next episode.

On the ground calling deer is why I moved to a heavy arrow because I did the same thing too many times. It’s worked so far. I know it sucks to have it happen but the way you told the story was really cool to see

Ive been hunting since i was 7 yrs old. Im 50 now. Ive had my share with the "emotional rollercoaster" as you Lee put it. But this video by far was the greatest hunt ive ever seen. Rough time, and know this feeling - glad it worked out for you in the end. The first shot I ever had at a deer with a bow in my second season was at a beautiful 3 y.o. buck, and glanced off a branch I didn't see, and deflected into the shoulder. Spend a day and a half trying to track him and never found - the blood trail just came to an end and as far as we can tell he made it out and is still there.
Heads up decoy on a stake is the way to go. Works great. Electric fence stake works really well.
It’s awesome you actually were stalking these deer in open country lol. It’s extremely hard to do that with a bow anywhere lol. I’ve done it one time here at home in Pennsylvania in the woods and was pretty lucky
Man! What a hunt! This bama boy is in heaven out here stalking out these Kansas bucks. So much easier without the trees in the way.

I kinda had the same thing happen to me this year. Snuck up on a buck locked down with a doe in a ditch and the doe bolted. He stood up and right when I went to shoot he turned and I hit him in the shoulder. Watched him bed down in a fence row not long after. Got permission and snuck up fence row and shoot him in his bed. It was definitely a roller coaster of a day! Congrats much respect for sticking with it!

Amazing hunt and stock! I have never got the opportunity to do so, what are some of your techniques?
This happened to my girlfriend for the first time this year, shot her biggest and we couldn't find him. She was down and wanted to quit, I encouraged her and she didn't but what I think really helped was he showed up on trail camera a few weeks later, which really took the weight off her shoulders. I explained its bound to happen if you hunt long enough and she finished out the season.

I appreciate this video so very much. I had a really rough season a couple seasons back and had injured a couple deer and boy you are right about wanting to hang it all up and be done. I was so upset with myself for my mistakes and knowing what I did. It took everything in my not to quit and instead I practiced shooting. Every. Single. Day. Last season I killed my biggest bow buck and learned more than i have in most seasons. You guys are one of my biggest inspirations and I look up to y’all so much. Thank you for always sharing your journey no matter if it’s good or bad.

You ,and this hunt......are an absolute spectacular example of moral fiber and fortitude, of sportsmanship of the highest caliber, and of an absolutely stellar huntsman.
To have committed the remainder of your hunt to finishing this wounded, but surviving, buck, to have spent days trying to get close again, to have stalked to within chip-shot range without being detected, to have had the herculean patience to wait several hours (within spitting distance) for that moment, and to have pulled it off, taking that final shot through barbed wire fencing and tumble weed.........YOU, sir......are effing AWESOME!!......AWESOME!!!......AWESOME!!!!
Clean shots and kills are a dime a dozen, in reality and on film....
THIS......was next level reality, taking the story from embarrassment and devastation (been there/done that) to breath holding, fingers crossed, edge-of-the-seat anticipation, to the final fist pumping and cheer leading at the computer.
I wanted to reach through the computer screen and shake your hand.

Lee, I literally just went through the same thing on the first bow hunt of the season. I didn't pick the bow up again until the last three weeks of season. It's an awful feeling when you make the wrong shot

Great hunt I had one come underneath my stand and when I seen him he had caught my wind and trotted off then quartered back to see me that's when I shot he took off couldn't fined him for 2 days there wasn't any blood any where the next spring I was shed hunting in the same area and come to a brushy stone wall about 30 yards from my stand and there he was all sprawled out under the brush I figured he skunked me 2 days in a row so I left him and his antlers lay, out of respect he was an average 6

I wounded a good one opening day of gun with my bow this season, the arrow had just fat on it with white hair so I missed low! It ain’t the first time or the last, I freaking hate it.

Lee, true words of the feeling of wanting to give up. I had a bad shot this season and did the same thing. Wanted to quick bow hunting but pushed through and ended up getting the best buck I've ever shot. As always love the videos.
You guys should try eastern Montana near the fort peck Indian reservation. It is similar to where you guys were in this video but in some places there is more cover to get behind.
