The fact he sees the pass is what counts. It's easier to teach restraint than vision. It's clear though his eyes light up and he puts too much on those passes.
People will see the pass and then won’t realise the angle is cut off by a defender and they’ll still try it anyway because they can’t think fast or don’t see a better opening appear
Risky in terms of possession not playmaking vulnerability. Here, if the ball’s turned over, the opposition still need to formulate an attack. No immediate counter threat. Safe to go forward.
@@hfspace Not really. I would say some were great, some were bad and the others were either not perfect or a good idea but maybe the teammates didnt see what he was trying to do. Also that was the purpose of this video
I‘m gonna explain it. At the highest level the game is very very organized with pressing and Defence lines and especially against Leverkusen teams are sitting very deep because they have most of the possession in nearly every game and play it very simple with a lot of short passes. In this system Wirtz is the creative part getting the freedom to make more difficult and unexpected passes that can instill chaos and break through the defensive lines of deep sitting opponent teams or take advantage when the opponent team is not organized after losing possession to Leverkusen. Even if the pass doesn‘t always finds its way it gives the opposing team one more thing to think about.
Man I truly hope this Leverkusen side gets to keep their current squad going into next season. I'm tired of seeing overachievers only having one excellent season and then selling their players the very next summer. So far things aren't gonna move in that direction with Xabi announcing today that he's staying and I'm glad for that
@@josipdujmovic8633 he’s not hoofing, he clearly has vision but the passes themselves are terrible so maybe looks like hoofing to you - he is young so hopefully he gets better with them
When Florian Wirtz learns how to go to goal by himeself and improves his decision making and in game IQ he could become better than Xavi (RB Leipzig) and even Musiala
he's like an unfinished ozil. like ozil, he sees a lot of passes and makes chances from it because of his world class passing, but wirtz only sees it for now because he doesn't have the same ability as ozil. i'm not saying that he's bad at passing the ball, it's just that it's not the same as ozil so it results to failure most of the time. if he reaches that same level of passing then no doubt that he'll become one of the best in the history of germany.
Writz should be playing with a striker like Shidou from Bluelock… Anyone like Lewa/RVP can benefit from those passes first time would be his best chemical reaction.
This is what a playmaker should do, always, it's his job to take risks to create for his teammates. The Guardiola/Spanish possession-obsessed mentality ruined football i swear, it's just fcking ridiculous when people criticise playmakers (Bruno Fernandes being the most obvious exemple) for making progressive passes and "losing the ball too often"... If you don't take risks you don't create. A playmaker shouldn't have a high percentage of pass completed.
Absolutely agree. Haven't watched Wirtz much but Bruno gets so many sticks for losing the ball during his attempts at chance creation, it can be a bit frustrating at times, but if no one's doing it there would hardly be any scoring opportunity, not to mention that the tempo in prem is so high that it's incredibly difficult to ping an accurate long pass without losing the ball before it even comes off the feet
A lot of his passes are a bit too far ahead for the recieving attacker. I think he needs to hold the ball a fraction of a second longer to draw in the defenders as well as allow the reciever to make the run and get in a better postion.
A great talent of long passing ,but he needs to calculate the decision so the pass could be more accurate and don't go too far. excellent content by the way keep going♥

Don’t want to be a jerk, but considering the level of pressure playing with Bayer, he definitely needs to improve his passing. Imagine this playing for any top team in Europe or with the national team, press and fans would destroy him. And age is not a excuse just more practice
This video makes him look way worse than he is. These passes are meant to be risky. The countless very good shorter passes he does every game, especially when in an attacking position, are not shown. That being said, I dont say he cant or shouldnt work on improving.
A lot of his passes are bit too ahead of the attacker. I think he needs to hold the ball just a fraction of a second longer before making the pass to draw in the defenders as well as allow the recieving attacker to get into a better position.

here is a video about Florian Wirtz!
You're a legend man
Can you do everytime giroud flick passed leao?
you should do a garnacho comp
The fact he sees the pass is what counts. It's easier to teach restraint than vision. It's clear though his eyes light up and he puts too much on those passes.
Logical answer
its his role to spray passes tho
Exactly. I’d rather have a player who sees the pass and misses than one who doesn’t even see the pass
That’s honestly probably not even true, restraint is tough for most people
People will see the pass and then won’t realise the angle is cut off by a defender and they’ll still try it anyway because they can’t think fast or don’t see a better opening appear
The vision and ability to make the final pass is what makes the greatest midfielders. He is getting there.
Many of these clips are 2 years old
High risk high reward kinda pass (when he gets them/when they go through)

That's because he doesnt look like a youngster😅
He is much better with his passes and decisions in this season! Believe me, I am a big fan and watch many games. He will be the future of germany
This is how you get good at passing. If you never try the hard passes, you'll spend your career making safe short passes.
Whenever it happens, I can visualize Xabi smiling like: "bro think he me 😏"
Under xabi, he could learn the ability, with the vision he has, that's awesome too😂
hi vision is insane but hius longpass isnt that good yet but he is young

reminds me of kdb b4 joining city his passes were a bit inaccurate and most of them were crazy long balls
