Man, Godfrey's army was crazy OP and Mohg got hosed with his 'army'
Quick pre-analysis disclaimer: obviously stuff like this is just for fun at the end of the day. I just think some added thoughts and analysis can also be fun.
Mohg: Clearly Mohg gets shafted the most here. And it’s not just the weakness of his allies (they are certainly weak though) it’s also how his phase translation works with how he has to stand still and do his countdown moves which just destroys him when faced with very high DPS. At the end of the day, the sanguine nobles make the most sense to be Mohg’s units here, but he definitely gets the short end of the stick regardless.
Maliketh: I see some sentiment that Maliketh also got done a little dirty, and I half agree. I do feel 4 blackblade kindreds would be a touch overkill, but the beastmen is also somewhat underwhelming in comparison to what others get. It’s also hard to pick between the greataxe or the sword variant of the kindred, because while yes the sword one in Dragonbarrow is much tankier, the greataxe has a significantly stronger moveset. So not using the sword variant isn’t so much of a detriment to Maliketh as it might seem at first.
Fire Giant: I feel the trolls don’t really carry a lot of weight on the team. Both of fire giant’s wins came from fire giant, and fire giant alone. I feel a possibly better set up for Fire Giant could have been giving him four fire prelates, maybe 2 whip variants and 2 hammer variants. Considering their practice and devotion in the whole fire incantation department. It feels like the prelates would also make more sense as fighters for the giant since the giant represents something they’re devoted to, while the trolls come off more as mere inhabitants of the same area, with no real alliance. Aside from that, Fire Giant’s phase 2 transition just seemed plain broken, with him just slowly sitting down and just saying like that until he got stance broken. While every other boss had a much more instantaneous transition into their second phases.
Malenia: Arguably, Malenia doesn’t even need an army. She’s just that broken in these things. But for the sake of equal treatment, if everyone else gets a couple allies, she can too. I mostly just disagree with the choice of unit Malenia got. I feel she should have gotten 4 sword and spear cleanrot knights. The haligtree knights kinda didn’t do a whole lot other than be stupidly tanky with their massive regen buff and also a full heal flask. Even dumber since their regen buff applies to Malenia, who’s heal on hit is already more than enough. Basically, I think they’re too tanky and only die quickly in extreme circumstances, like when hit with stacked destined death. The sickle cleanrot knights would have a similar issue of applying a regen huff to Malenia herself, so that’s why I think the sword ones would be a better pick. They’d also work more thematically I think too, since the cleanrot knights are partially defined by their heavy devotion to Malenia.
Godfrey + Astel: I don’t have that much to say personally about either Godfrey or Astel, other than I think their setup just makes sense. The use of the stars of darkness variant for Astel makes sense, because the natural born variant would be far to underscaled by comparison. The choice for allies on both sides also just make sense. Godfrey’s mightiest warriors were the crucible knights, and Astel and falling star beasts share the whole gravity thing and whatnot.
Radagon: I feel slightly similar to Radagon as Godfrey and Astel, not too much input to give really. I think the biggest limiting factor for Radagon is his distinct lack of a true second phase. Which is fine, I’m not saying Elden Beast should come into the equation. That’s just the way Radagon was made, and as a result he’s just unfortunately limited by it. However giving him the red wolves is a nice touch, since they can give solid ranged harassment while Radagon gets aggressive with melee. They also make up for Radagon’s biggest shortcoming in these fights, which is how utterly terrible he is at stance breaking.
Radahn: Radahn wasn’t featured here, but I feel he maybe could have been. His HP is comparable to Radagon, albeit still a bit lower. But should he be able to get a meteor off, the playing field could become much more levelled. And sure, there’d probably be some cases where he wouldn’t get his meteor off, but just look at Mohg here. For allies, he could have had some redmane knight archers, specifically the ones that do the rain of arrows attack, which can seriously shred, really showcasing Radahn’s army prowess when it comes to archery. If anything, he could have probably won against Mohg at least.

Radagon is fine at stance breaking, lmfao. Bro beat Godfrey, who is a poise monster. Also, Godfrey having all Crucibles is a bit much. If Maliketh can't have 4 BBKs, then Godfrey shouldn't get arguably the strongest knights as his default army.
@@seekay8079 Radagon has his moments of stance breaking, and I mean, he’s not as bad as say Morgott, but Radagon absolutely does not win against Godfrey in vanilla scaling. Maybe he can manage the odd fluke win, but Radagon can lose to gold spirit Godfrey, forget real Godfrey.
Then for the ‘armies’, yes, crucible knights are mega cracked. But that’s sort of Godfrey’s MO. There isn’t really another thing in the game that would fit. Lore wise, Godfrey valued strength above all else, and the strongest warriors became his crucible knights. So crucible knights are basically the only thing that could be Godfrey’s allies in the first place.
As for BBKs, there’s absolutely no competition. They would be overkill. Destined death health drain is universally programmed to stack with itself, so 4 kindreds plus Maliketh would simply deal way too much damage. On top of that, the kindreds have very high stance breaking ability, very high mobility, and are completely unstaggerable (outside of proper stance breaks. Whereas Crucible Knights can still be staggered by heavier hits.)

This was entertaining, but the overall strength of Mohg's army was abysmal. No poise, and so few. Plus Mohg's Nihil count is still bugged. Could've used some crows. Fire Giant's army was also easy to separate and dispatch. Melania was an army on her own lol

Plus she has been shown capable of beating all the other bosses even without life steal, including Maliketh with a full health bar.

Yes, bosses are less powerful if you remove some of their mechanics or gimmicks designed to give the player something else to keep in mind when fighting them, but you aren't exactly postulating a revelation in video game design philosophy here.

Other bosses in this video also have some very strong attacks - like Fire Giant's fire breath attack, the Fallingstar Beast's laser, the Black Blade Kindred's spinning tornado, Astel's meteor, most of Maliketh's spinning attacks, and Godfrey's area of effect stomps.

You should give the black blade the army he deserved, I mean, the caelid kindred and black knives.

Black knives are not his army (they are their own separate faction). But the problem is the channel creator can't decide on what type of "balance" he wants.
1)Do bosses get all the units under their command? -No , it would fry his pc. So
2) bosses get a limited number of units.
Now here, he initially used to give maliketh 5 gargoyles. And considering that Maliketh cant use his agile moveset outside the arena, it was a fair trade off. But malenia fans complained so hard about this( and Mohg's skeleton), that he gradually dropped it to 2 gargoyles.
So if the balance revolves around "equal number of units" , then all sides should get same number of their strongest units(4 bestial sanctum kindred for mali, 4 laser skeletons for mohg). If it revolves around "game accuracy", then all sides should get all their units (banished knights, vulgar militia, beastmen , and 2 bbks for maliketh, 3 laser skeleton summoners, all sanguine nobles and red albinaruics etc for mohg)-even if his pc explodes. He just conveniently chooses a "compromise" between these two types of balance.

Reading comprehension , friend. I said malenia should get "all" cleanrots . There are a total of 50- 60 cleanrots in the game, and the haligtree ones are stronger than the haligtree knights she got here. That is if the armies are "accurate". Naturally , the channel creators pc cant handle 60 cleanrots, 20 crucible knights, 80- 90 beatsmen, 30-40 vulgar militia etc. So it would be fair to give both sides the same number of minibosses.
And for the 99999999999th time malenia is the strongest character in the game, BUT THAT HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH THE VIDEO. This was about armies, and thus all sides should get equal armies (Its not other bosses fault that Malenia's subordinates are clowns who need her to solo everything)

You should do a buffed Tibia Mariner vs Bosses. Specifically the Wymdham Ruins version, because it can summon those Giant Skeleton Spirits
Ok, I do agree that some armies were done pretty dirty compared to the powerforce of others, but I do recognize these videos are just a very specific way of entertainment and there is not a reasonable cause to be mad about it.
At the end of the day, RNG plays a big role, the results are not always going to be the ones we want and these are just very niche funny videos with no ill intention.

Other modders are able to trigger the boss phase "events", (where the cutscense plays , and they begin wiith their transition). The only boss this benefits is Malenia, becuase she is programmed to carry destined death buildup from phase 1 to phase 2, which she doen't do here because you "summon" her (she would have definitely died here if the buildup from her phase 1 carried over to phase 2). I don't want to accuse you of bias because i like both bosses but this is a bit😅

Either the armies get the same number of minibosses (so maliketh gets 4 gargoyles, mohg 4 laser skeletons, etc), or they should get their entire forces:- so Malenia gets all cleanrots in the game( and cleanrots only), Maliketh gets all farum banished knights, all beastmen, death using vulgar militia, and the bbks, Godfrey all crucibles, Mohg all three laser skeleton summoning albinaurics, and all sanguine nobles, so on. This would be the only "accurate way " to measure the strength of the armies. Not whatever this was.

Watch every fight destined death is involved; whenever the enemy gets hit and you see what sorta whitish bar on their depleting health bar, if they don't get hit after sometime, that whitish bar turns back to actual health. That's the best I can explain it. Its not the creator messing with anything.

Yet another nitpick after reading a comment here: You need to find a way to trigger the boss 2nd phase "events" outside the arena, instead of "summoning" them. 25:18 You "summoned" Maliketh over malenia's waterfowl, making him lose 2k hp and stunning him before the fight even began (instead of using his hyperarmor phase transition jump ). But you very faithfully "summon" Malenia with the accurate phase transition, her aeonia. Not only that ,Malenia is programmed to carry dd debuff and burn over to the 2nd phase event, which would have led to a guaranteed death here. But because you "summon" her 2nd phase , she doesn't do that. In before "you are just salty" for asking for fair mechanics.

These armies are deeply unbalanced. Some are a bunch of regular enemies, others are a bunch of the toughest minibosses in the game, and the end result is that the battles are predictable and boring.
Malenia should’ve been solo, she’s so cheaty.

Godfrey's team isn't OP, almost all his team's win carried by himself. So, it's just that's Godfrey is too strong because of his AOE damage.

For any of these vs vids Malenia def shouldn't have her heal on hit. Not only does it make the outcome painfully predictable, it's also obviously just a mechanic put in to amp up the difficulty for players since nothing in the lore suggests she has that ability to begin with. Her toolkit without it is already busted enough
It's clearly either a feature of her Great Rune or Miquella's Needle. Weird that you would say such an enormous part of the fight is somehow "non-canon." Is Maliketh's Destined Death attack non-canon too?
@@lettuceprime4922 TLDR: Malekith's not the only one with destined death while Malenia is the only one with lifesteal and the two items you mentioned doesn't explain shit.
Malekith is an awful example. His destined death ability is consistent with those said to also wield the power of the rune of death i.e black knife assasins and even the tarnished if you wield their weapons.
Outside of the fight against Malenia, nothing else in the lands between has the ability of lifesteal on hit. Neither any of the creatures related to rot nor the daughters of Malenia have any semblance of this ability. The servant of rot incantations, scarlet aeonia and even the hand of Malenia doesn't do anything for you.
And finally Malenia's great rune and Miquella's needle as you mentioned, both items you can use for yourself ingame. The needle doesn't give any mention of the ability, and when you use it for yourself (an even more potent version of it as you use it outside of time mind you) it only does as it's said to do which is ward off the meddling of outer gods. On the other hand, while Malenia's great rune does mention that ability out of necessity to convey gameplay function, it really just does the bare minimum. "It is infused with her spirit hence you can now recover lost hp" yeah that explains a lot. Not to mention the version you get is different as it's SEVERELY nerfed, only letting you heal back the hp you just lost within a tiny window unlike Malenia who just straight up takes your hp as she pleases (and it also nerfs your flasks).

For people crying about Malenia having the Haligtree army which they believe “isn’t her army”, that’s false. The official Elden Ring Guidebook just said that the Haligtree is Miquella and Malenia’s stronghold, so both of them are the leaders with Miquella being the first while Malenia second. Tye Haligtree Army fighting alongside Malenia is not inaccurate. They’re fighting alongside their leader.
Watching Malenia almost single-handedly defeat 4 Fallenstar Beasts + Astel has cemented her as a BS boss. I now feel justified beating her with the cheapest ways possible

Atleast it's confirmed that you are a biased content creator. (Slow the vid and see carefully- she regains chunks of her health even when not attacking. She probably does this the entire fight, but its most clearly visible in these two spots)
Edit: My reply is getting deleted for some reason (use sort by newest) so: The sacred order ash of war used by haligtree knights works only on themselves, not on others (you can test it by having them trigger the ash of war beside the rotted avatar- the avatar will not gain regen). From fextra page on haligtree knights "The ash of war sacred order which imbues their weapon with holy .......additionally , causes _them_ to start regen. health." From sacred order ash of war page "In practise, it functions like a _single target_ golden vow". If you have fought haligtree knights (instead of mercing them in 2 secs with op setups), their regen will only work on _themselves_ , not on allies (unlike golden vow). Fight the haligtree knights and the rotted avatar at that one area at the same time, let them use their skill, and see if the avatar regens health

At first they complained about "arena" and then "pillars" and then it went to blaming "AI" and now, even now they are still crying about bbk this, bbk that, Maliketh army this, Maliketh army that. It's getting pathetic at this point. At this point, always give Maliketh the victory so this constant complaining stops. What's more insane... they will tell you Malenia is the most broken boss in ER and STILL cry and complain when the "most broken boss" wins. Your boy had a 5 v 1 advantage and still lost. are u actually braindead? malenia can gained 3k heals self for lifesteal with one hit if there alot of hitboxes in the close figh u know cuz the waterfowl can do area damage shes atleast gaind minimum 12k health can restored her health bar easily with hyper armor 2 phases with rooting easily deadly to all bosses she can solo all armies with that abilities
Yes , so lets give her stealth health regen (25:25 25:36), and spawn immunity from destined death debuff and burn in her 2nd phase (which would have surely killed her here) , sth she is programmed to carry over from her 1st phase, and spawn maliketh right on top of her waterfowl instead of giving him his jump transition. Malenia fans are just shameless at this point lmao. Like literally 10000 advantages given to her, and she would have still been folded, so the modder straight up gave her a health regen on top of that (not lifesteal but health regen!) 🤣🤣

Lol, funny you should mention 1000 advantages. Do you know the most nerfed boss in these types of vids? Yeah, Malenia. And every time she beats the odds. Have seen Maliketh with all the advantages (pillars 😂😂😂, arena, no 1st phase, full health bar etc) and still gets folded.

@@needaleg5044Yes. At the very start of the match, you can see that the incantation they cast gives both them and Melania a buff that regenerates health over time. It isn't "modded" health regen.
Malenia is one Woman army
Malenia is arguably the strongest boss in the game. With 2 health bars, lifesteal and rot, it doesn’t matter how much people complain about her being favored in these videos. She’ll come out on top most of the time because that’s how she was designed.
Yes, the armies could’ve have been better in this video, especially Mohg. Even so, Malenia would have been in the top two armies with most wins. In other channels’ boss fights, like Bjorn the bear, Malenia ends up surviving most of the time. So how is it that this channel is being unfair or biased?
She is the strongest boss in the game, and we all know that. But straight up fudging game mechanics to make her come out on top... You can read multiple comments here, and assuming you are unbiased, you will see they call out plenty of questionable things:
1) All bosses have "events" that trigger their phase transition- in other bvb creators like bjorn , nameless ring when the boss phase changes, a cutscene will play , and they will begin with a hyperamored phase transiton move (Maliketh's jump, Hoarah's grab etc). This modder "summons " all bosses 2nd phase _directly over a attack_ ( 25:18 Maliketh takes 2k dmg and gets stunned without doing anything becuase he is "summoned", which would not happen with his normal "event" based phase change)- except malenia, who gets "summoned" with her aeonia. It gets even better- Malenia's 2nd phase event is designed to carrry over dest death debuff and burn from her 1st phase, sth which never happens on this channel because he "summons" her instead of triggering her 2nd phase "event". This would have led to a guraanted loss against maliketh (if her burn and debuff carried over).The only boss in the game this "summoning" benefits is Malenia, and it ,without exception, fucks over every other boss.
2)The most egregrious one, and the reason why this will probs be the last vid I watch on this channel- He stealthily gave her a health regen ability. Read jajaja's comment.
You gotta give Mogh the Sanguine Noble that invades you in Consecrated Snowfield with the double Reduvia that is his strongest warrior and one of the hardest NPCs to fight period. Give him 4 of those and his army will be way stronger.
