Additional advantage of using vinegar instead of fabric softener is that the moisture (wicking) ability of fabric is not compromised. Fabric softener reduces ability of fabrics to absorb water which is bad for towels primarily, but also other clothing (wicking away moisture helps keep you cool). By using vinegar you get the softness without compromising wicking. A lot cheaper than fabric softener so win win win.

Good vid, you're both looking well and I'm going to give that vinegar a go too. I saw a product on amazon a while ago which was interesting - they were selling high powered magnets that were coated in a thick rubber which you place inside of the washing machine with the laundry. The logic being that water is polar (has a magnetic north) so when the water is exposed to the magnetic field it pulls/aligns the water to face the magnet which then makes it easier for it to get into the fabric, making the water "wetter" but the magnets will rust like crazy at sea unless they're completely covered in a protective layer. I was really surprised to see them for sale on amazon and the vendor had sold a few too.
Personally, I use a N52 Gauss, 2x2x1 (inch) block magnet from ebay, and the way you find the south/north poles of the magnet is to use a magnetic compass - you want to use the side of the magnet that ATTRACTS the compass needle and I usually mark that side of the magnet with tape. For more info check out "structured water" on youtube
    cheers mate!

You guys should be using commercial/professional machines for all that laundry. I thought that was just a guest laundry room at first. As durable Miele is, using their residential lineup for commercial use is like buying a cheap whirlpool or samsung machine for your house, you’ll be spending a lot more money in the long run because it will break more often and the performance may not be the best. If that’s all the space you have for a laundry room, you should at least get Miele Professional’s little giant machines (the new generation). It’s more robust and it has shorter cycle times, and I think you can monitor it remotely, look it up.

mhappy01 why bother diluting the detergent by 50%? Do you not bother adding any water to wash and rinse at all? If you do then it’s ridiculous to dilute the detergent since your going to add water anyways and just cut your detergent in half, easy peasy!!!!

It’s been used since the 1800’s for this purpose and is on boxes of detergents as recommended to use all over the world and it gets published every spring and fall in about every home magazine there is.

I would love a Video or maybe several on my favorite well only reality show I watch which is Below Deck. Yes I know they have a "Day" crew plus a couple of professionals you rarely see on camera and are picked not necessarily for their expertise though some do have experience within the Industry. I can also see that they have to work in cramped and demanding conditions.
However underneath that most seem to be whiny entitled millenials getting thousand Euro tips for 3 days work living in amazing places and having a professional chef to cater to them. If I was ever lucky enough to be able to afford such a holiday I would never do so on their or any boat as they seem Bitchy ungrateful for the marvelous opportunities such careers afford them and so judgemental. Having said that If I was in such a financial situation that I could afford to hire a yacht for a week I would probably also avoid the other people who are in the same situation as they also seem to be people who I would be ashamed to know.
I would love to see a video or two about what is the reality as opposed to the show both on the yachts and clients though of course you would have to omit any names.

The ProWIN Cleantex is also eco friendly and in fact, we LOVE their glass cloths. I've used them for years and they are still my favourite solution for cleaning mirrors and glass.

Don't use vineagar in washing machine...Miele knows better than you..Vineager is Acid..
Miele Senior technician. He said to NEVER use vinegar in the washing machine or the dishwasher..Vinegar is ACID...Yes, it shines the stainless, but he said it totally eats and rots the rubber hoses and seals. He went on to say that they can always tell the machines that are used with vinegar. He says hoses and rubber seals and parts many times just crumble in his hands, when service is performed!
He said yes it is chemical free, but it is NOT good for the machines. Liquid fabric softener is 100% safe, when used as directed & with normal use...it does NOT build up or gunk the machine (especially if a regular clean machine cycle is done).

Putting vinegar in instead of softener. Interesting but what if you have allergies, especially to vinegar? I have see this with my Grandchild and it made his skin come up in like hives whereas baby bio wash and softener doesn’t?
Also this thing with plastics, glass especially around kids and animals can break and splinter all over the place and cause massive injuries. I have just bought a replacement cafetière that is made from a by product of sugar a poly something or other. Glass is dangerous and I would restrict it on my yacht.
Great video tho, nice to see you both working together.xx

My grandson is allergic to vinegar and citric acid so far so wouldn't use either cleaning his clothes and b)some of our favourite drinks are now in the lass bottles, highly dangerous where there are children and when they break they shatter and go everywhere causing havoc. So in my humble opinion, long live the plastic bottle!!

Very good idea to use white vinegar! Was not using softener because it contains quite a lot harmful chemicals. Polycyclic musk compounds are toxic for water organism and show hormonal and carcinogenic effects. Of course there are biodegradeable products, but not putting this stuff into the water in the first place is my preference.

Also, check into why these countries in the East produce as much pollution as they do. Hint: They produce most of the product consumed by those in the West.
