Nico Rosberg and Lewis Hamilton are known to not really “smell” each other, and this beef goes back to the 2000 karting season when both of them were teammates. I haven't seen any evidence that Nico hates Hamilton. Yes, he had to turn himself inside out to beat Lewis by having sports psychologists, etc in his entourage, but after he retired he has completely mellowed and seems in a very good place today with his ventures in electric cars, etc.
Sport psychologists are so important if he didn’t have that he probably would have crumbled under pressure. That’s what people don’t give Lewis credit for is he is so good and consistent that you should have to be perfect!

I have a theory which may be just as stupid though.
Nico was promised a title by Mercedes... but Lewis did not make it easy... he went out to ensure that Nico had to work for it.... to the extent that Mercedes had to intervene and practically sabotage Lewis's car. (The sudden reliability problems on his car were food for thought at the time but subsequently became clear later on)
The deal was ... we give you a title and you can retire and leave the team.
Lewis was not going to play that game.
There is no other reason for the hate.
Loved this video. I have to say though; every athlete performing at such a high level should have a sport's psychologist. They go through so much and then have to deal with disrespectful fans and media with distasteful agendas. Lewis seems like a real competitor cause it does seem like every tight battle he has leaves the other effected. Luckily Verstappen has matured a lot as a driver from his battle.
Somebody should tell Rosberg the only person to suffer when there's unforgiveness is that person. You don't see Sir Lewis always talking about it, he probably don't even think about what ever it was. He will have no inner peace until he forgives it will lead to bitterness and hatred not a good position to be in.

The grudge should be the other way round as Rosberg only won the championship after deliberately going off to prevent Hamilton competing his final qualifying lap. As with the 21seasons last lap debacle it seams the only way to beat Hamilton is to cheat!!!!!

0:41 Are you assuming that he experienced racism or is that a fact? Were there incidences of racism and racial discrimination in his career? Lewis Hamilton didn't grow up in the 1800's or the 60's. He grew up in the 90's - 2000's and he was British in auto racing. There is no greater privilege for a driver in auto racing than to be British with British teams and sponsors wanting a British driver. All he had to do was win a race or two every season at every level and he would have a golden path. Many other drivers from different countries don’t have that privilege.

Drivers of any color would be thrilled to have the backing of McLaren throughout their early career. If you know anything about racing, then you know that having money behind you is a huge help. He will go down in history as one of the greatest drivers ever, and he has earned that. That being said, I have a hard time feeling sorry for someone {Lewis} who is one of the richest and most accomplished persons in the world. His life hasn't been overly oppressive, or difficult by any standards.

I dunno. Lewis just does come across as genuine in interviews. while he is one of the greatest of all time.
Lewis is hated by many people in F1. To the outside world he always acts like he is such a nice guy, but the real Hamilton is pretty toxic. Alonso doesn't like him, Massa doesn't like him, Rosberg doesn't like him, Verstappen doesn't like him. What do they all have in common? They all have more talent than Hamilton and Lewis doesn't like it and becomes very toxic. Uses his skin color to say how people are always against him blah blah. Lets face it Nico would never had been world champion in 2016 if Hamilton did not have a catalogue of reliability issues. Nico had a chance to prove to himself and the racing world that he can beat Lewis fare and square . Instead of taking on that challenge, Nica, to everyone's surprise retires from the sport. Nico says he will never forgive Lewis. Nico, oyu need to grow up and get over yourself... to be honest nobody cares. including Lewis. I heard Lewis bumbed into Nico and his kids in an elevator. Lewis was polite and friendly saying hi to Nico and his kids! No that shows you the character of the man(Lewis).

I suspect Mercedes made a deal to give him a championship, told him to bugger off, so they can focus on Lewis as they set about rewriting history.
If you watch the 2016 championship, you would notice that Hamilton won more poles and races than Rosberge, even though he had to come from further down the grid because of penalties handed out due to change in gearbox, engine parts and more.
Mercedes, also at the beginning of the season, swapped engineers by giving Hamilton Rosberges and vice versa.
Hamilton since then constantly had failures including a massive one in Hungary resulting in a Dnf whilst leading the world championship, this robbed him of 25 points, Rosberge only won the championship that year by 5 points, meaning, without that loss from Hamilton, he could never have won.
Funny enough, Hamilton didn't have a single mechanical issue in 2017 when Ferrari turned out to be the main rival to Mercedes.

Getting help of a sport psychologist (when you feel you need to) is a very smart and mature thing to do. It is not likely you would drive more slowly because of it, and even if it helps just 0,1%, it's a gain which can matter a lot in a sport with this much exposure and pressure.
