I don't understand what you mean by 'someone talking about what to bring if you're NOT married'.
She stated 'she had a son'(apart from being a mother, she's also a Labour & Delivery Nurse) hence she's more than qualified to talk about the topic and just been married does not make you a mother.

She’s right, you do have to have an ID with you when you go into labor. You and your partner!! The only way you can fill out the birth certificate is with an ID.

I've never come into that issue, I was married with my first, but I'm not married to my current partner so it's good to have a heads up that it may be a different experience.

That is sweet. I have had 2 daughters. Both born by c - section. First c - section was after being in labor all day. I was in early labor most of that day and was having contractions that felt like Braxton hicks contractions but alittle stronger . Than my water broke and I wasn’t sure that is what happened so I called my dr and they said smell it , seriously! Reason is if it doesn’t smell like pee go directly to hospital. Well it did not smell like pee . I headed to hospital. In route to hospital contractions quickly become very strong and never seemed too end much between contractions. By the time they checked me for dilation I felt extreme pressure on rectum . They informed me baby had turned in breech position and was not able too be delivered vaginally and they had to do c -section. Second child I wanted to attempt a vaginal delivery and that was the plan but my child was showing sighs of distress at my check up and inducing labor would be risky if I had previous c - section so c-section was scheduled the next day. I was disappointed but knew c -section was needed. Healthy baby and healthy mom is what matters

For the amount of money a hospital charges for a simple, straightforward delivery, it kind of drives me nuts that I need to remember to bring extra pillows to breastfeed and a sound machine because nurseries don’t exist anymore. Even as a nurse, you should not have to deal with lack of supply of something as simple as pillows.

I love this video so much! I watch so many "what's in my hospital bag" videos and this is so much better. You're not pushing any specific brands that are expensive. You're both breastfeeding and formula feeding inclusive. You understand that just because your hospital does something doesn't necessarily mean another does. I really appreciate this video so much and I love how straightforward you are and how well you explain the reasons for things from both a mother's perspective and a L&D nurse's perspective. 🥰

Extremely useful! I had NO idea that a hospital wouldn't have baby nail clippers... That's shocking to me. So many videos I've watched have encouraged moms to bring less items from home, and rely more on what the hospital has on hand, so I appreciate knowing what ISN'T available there that I really should pack! I also didn't know about the carseat-outfit issue. I'm having a summer baby, so the going-home outfit will be lightweight anyway, but I'll keep it in mind for the following winter that I should invest in a cute and warm "car blanket" to go over the straps, instead of a puffy bear suit to wear, haha!

Very helpful list! What I'd add is check with your hospital. Many have lists like that as it really depends a lot on each hospital what they can and can't provide.
About breast feeding pillows: I had a really small one formed like a bone and about the size of a neck pillow but filled with those little plastic balls. I had it for traveling but it's great in hospital as well because it is so small.

As a first time Mum at 24 this video is EXTREMELY helpful and informative.
Never would I have thought about setting up a Pediatrician before birth.
I've been asking for advice from a lot of Moms and not one has mentioned this.

Easily the most well informed and realistic video I’ve seen on what to bring and not to bring to the hospital. We’re on baby #3 but it’s been 5 years so I needed a bit of a refresher 😅

Thank you for mentioning about the zip pajamas from the bottom up. Makes total sense and I'm on baby #3. I messed up and did t bring enough for my son. He peed on EVERYTHING. I brought clothes for my daughter but probably not the easy on and off ones like you spoke about. Almost didn't have enough for her because she spit up on everything. Thank you!

This video was awesome! Straight to the point no brand dropping and your voice is freaking soothing. Not currently pregnant but in the near future 🤞🏼 so I’m def saving this video for future reference. Also loved the fact that you spoke about parents who are not married, and also info we don’t want others to know. I think many times people don’t think of that so this was awesome! Thank you!!! ✨

I love this video. I was naturally this way with my first. less is more. only packed toiletries, snacks, a going home onesie for baby and my book I was reading. for the second I am not having anyone w me. during that precious time, the nurse is the best friend you can have. everyone else is just noise and headache, even when they aren’t trying to be. that’s the one thing that I will do differently with the second. I haven’t even told anyone besides my coworker that I am pregnant anyway and I’m 16 weeks lol. it’s so much more peaceful this way.
