Dude, your videos are so helpful. Just straight talk, no bull. Thanks so much.
thanks for the feedback! Glad you like them!
One of the best videos out there , super useful information that’s nobody talked about
Thanks for the feedback and super glad you found it helpful!
I’ve had my Mini 3 Pro for about a month and fly it almost every day. Everything you say is right on target. You are giving beginners great advice. Thank you.
Thanks for the feedback and glad you find my videos helpful!! I love my M3P!!
Wish I would have found your channel earlier. Your honesty about the drone and thinking I was gonna do these shots day one. I know it's an older video, but glad I found your channel
Thanks for the feedback! Good quality never goes out of date! 😀😀 the key is patience, and perseverance. I have a few vídeos about the mini 3 pro, if interested. Lots of good info in them…
My compliments for your informative video. I've seen hundreds by now about the Mini 3 Pro, but yours is packed with useful information and brought to us with the right amount of a personal touch. It saves me a lot of experimental hours now. Thank you.
Thanks for the feedback. I will soon be releasing all the aerial shots in an edited video that I took while I stayed at this gorgeous coastal village and it will make for a very nice and visually entertaining montage. GLad you found it helpful!
His video was excellent. I'm laying in the bed with my girlfriend, and she said his voice is relaxing and trustworthy.. 🤣🤣🥳🥳💯💯
Thank you for your advice
You’re welcomed! My next video is my long term review of the mini 3 pro. It might be interesting to you too… 😊
Bought my first ever drone - the mini 3 pro - four days ago. Have done a lot of drone related You Tube watching and you’re the best. Thanks for all the advice.
Thanks for the feedback and I am really glad you found it helpful. I released yesterday another video with more cool tips that I am sure you will enjoy, if you wanna watch it! And good luck with your drone flying, I am sure you’re gonna love it.
Great review! I've found your reviews to be very honest and insightful, so when you say something is good, I believe it.
Thanks for the feedback. I put myself in the viewer’s shoes and ask myself before I plan and record any video, am I giving practical and usable info and advice, or am I selling out and giving a pile of useless repackaged crap. I want to believe it is the former and not the latter! 😀.
I support every point you make in this video. I recently bought the mini3 pro just in time for a trip to northern Spain and it was totally worth it.
Yes! It is such a cool drone and it is also really good!! My next video is about NDs for this drone, when to use them and when not. It will be worth it, plus filming in some cool locations along the Thames river… I really like flying this drone…
Very IMPRESSED !!
A good informative video and very well explained, as a “newbie” flyer to this hobby, you have explained good advice. Keep up the good work. You have fabulous beaches to film. Thank you.🙏
Thanks for the feedback and glad you found it helpful!
Gracias Samuel. Muy informativo....
De nada! Me alegro haya sido entretenido!
Great and informative video. For the "Using no sticks in C mode", you can also adjust the sensitivity for each flight mode. I turned the sticks' sensitivity all the way down for C mode, and this helps achieve the same fine control.
I will definitely check this out but I believe ai had those adjustments too… But just because you mentioned it I will double check!
This is a fantastic video, with some epic shots too. Need to take my bike to the beach after watching this. Keep it up, you deserve all the success you are getting!
Thanks for the feedback and glad you enjoyed it!
That’s very important, thanks so much for your vdo
You’re welcome! Glad you found it helpful!
Thanks for this, get my mini 3 in a couple days, your info helped out a lot.
Brilliant! I posted another video recently with more useful tips. You might enjoy it too!
The most real life and helpful video I've watch in a long time keep up the good work.
thanks! Glad you liked it!
Very informative video and your enthusiasm takes it to another level... Subed.... Thanks
Glad you liked it and welcomed to the club!! 👍
Great video with some awesome tips for beginners! The propeller protector is nice to have, but by no means neccessary. You can actually fold them on the back of the drone on top and between the ridges on the bottom and they are very secure. They don't even move when you shake the drone.
That’s why I also said a cheap piece of velcro will also do the job. But if someone wants the fancy stuff… thanks for the feedback!
Great video and well put together …. Thank you ….
Glad you liked it! Cheers!
Great video
Thanks! Glad you enjoyed it!
As a new owner of the mini pro 3 (had mini 2 previously), your video is 100% spot on. Great job and I’m subscribing!
Thanks! Welcome to the club! My next video out tomorrow is how to grade dji mini 3 in 2 clicks. I am introducing my pack of over 150 LUTs for this drone. I show how easy and simple it is to get amazing images. Might be interesting to you too!
Appreciate the info 👍
Glad you enjoyed it!!
Great work on video mate 👍👍👍
Glad you enjoyed it
Thanks for the tips. My Mini 3 is on the way.
Glad you found it helpful! You’re gonna have so much fun with it.
Really good video and I actually learned a few things. Thanks once again a grea video.
Thanks! Glad you enjoyed it!!
same, I learned I bunch
Great video!
Thanks! Glad you liked it. My next video out on Friday is about simple and easy to do tips and tricks to make stunning video with a drone. You might like that one too when it goes live… 😀
Thanks for the video 👍😎🎥
Thanks, glad it was helpful!
Hello Samuel, I recently got this Mini 3 and agree with all your pointers here 100%. Like all my other DJI products this drone is very well built with top quality materials, but the Care Refresh will cover you even if it’s totally pilot error after you’ve had way too many drinks at a New Year’s eve party😝🙂
Thanks for the feedback and I am glad you found it helpful! I have a few other videos about this drone and my next one going live next weekend is about a communication system for when doing complex filming or using a spotter. It was shit at Tower Bridge in London so it will be a good one. Plus some very nice drone footage too!
Hi Samuel I'm jay from Hong Kong, thank you so much good tips,& good video.
Thanks Jay, glad you enjoyed it!!
Thank you for an excellent, down to earth video on this wonderful little drone. I have had mine for about two weeks and as my first drone, I am very happy with it. Everything that you've said is clear and important for first time owners of this drone.
Thanks! Glad you enjoyed it. My next video is going to be great too and you will enjoy it. It was shot in Tower Bridge in London, amazing aerials and a piece of communication kit that every drone op might need if they decide to go pro one day. Going live this coming weekend. Do you fly in congested city airspace or wide countryside?
@@SamuelSotiega I live in Canada's capital city of Ottawa. It can be challenging to fly in city airspace here with so many government buildings and embassies so I fly most often in the countryside.
Thankyou
Great informative vid 👌
Iv just purchased the mini 3 Pro and hoping for many years of fun vids and pics and might do a video yt channel myself haha
Awesome mate wish yourself and everyone in the comments many happy years of drone flying 🙌
Thanks for the feedback! My next video out on Thursday or Friday is tips and tricks to make your drone or mini 3 footage look amazing (flying in busy city centres too) . I flew drones for a few years but stopped for 2-3 years and getting back into it. Lots of good tips in this video, some common sense, others might be new to people… I hope if you watch you like it too!
greta video! I really enjoyed the no sticks!
Thanks! Glad you enjoyed it!
Thank you for this. I just got my first drone. And I'm in love.
I totally agree with you. The footage you get is amazing and super cool.
@@SamuelSotiega your channel is awesome. I just subbed.. I'm in the US and laying in bed with my girlfriend, she said your voice is soothing and trustworthy..🤣🤣🫱🏻🫲🏾💯
Can I ask where you are from?
@@Thegoldenchild415 born and bred in Spain, but spent most of my life in the UK. I do miss the sun and life style from Spain. So, that is a project one day if/when the channel does enough to financially justify a relocation to warmer climate. Rain and cold is something I will never get used to… For instance, I am getting ready to go out and film some cutaways for my next 2 videos and it has been raining for 2 days. Waiting for a window with no rain but I also have to consider it gets dark at 5pm here. One always have to factor the weather in this neck of the woods when trying to keep pumping videos out. In a sunny, warm climate, this would not be an issue….
really fantastic video man! I just got the drone as well and I live in Galicia too. I recognised it instantly! haha
Wow! Amazing! I am sure you’ll get a tonne of fun with it. Galicia is amazing, every inch and every corner… I miss it every day….
Very well done video!
Where was this filmed? It looks gorgeous!
It is from a little coastal village is Galicia, Spain, called Corrubedo. It is gorgeous and the food, hmmmm, the seafood is just another level….
Love your way of explaining everything in a simple way! I am about to fly my Mini 3 Pro for the first time. Bought the Care refresh because of your recommendation. You should ask DJI if there is anyway to get an affiliate link to that in your description (was intending to buy it from your link but did not find it). Greetings from Guatemala!
Awesome!! Glad it was helpful! I have had my M3pro since it came out and no regrets, solid, always realibale, great images. I have done a good few videos about it so if you want to see more, browse my name and dji mini3 pro and you will get a few more videos about it. Well worth it in my opnion.. Cheers!! Viva Guatemala!!
Well done, thx for sharing. So down to earth. ……Pun intended 🇨🇦
Hahaha! Thanks! Glad you enjoyed it!
U r so right about the noise. I fly in a skateboard park 5 m above people and no one knew it was there. The odd person would glance up and see it. But it is a perfect drone
I totally agree with you! Brilliant small drone that goes unnoticed by most people. And you could literally be flying with the RC tucked away in a corner or a bench and most people would think you’re playing a portable console or something. Conspicuous which is amazing.
Thank you Samuel,,, for the knowledge, information,, I love your accent,,, Reminds me of Cubans I love,,,, Jew know it brother,,, AL Pacino you are,,,, :) :)
Thanks for the feedback! They wish to be like me! 😀😀😂
Good
Thanks, glad you enjoyed it.
How can I fix the quick transfer issue of no longer connection with my phone? Thanks, and I've learned much from your videos.
I use an RC controller so I am not familiar with your issue. Have you tried to reach out toi DJI supporT? They have a live chat that is very helpful and they might even be able to give you an answer or a way forward right then adn there. Thanks for the feedback!
Nice video, waiting for my mini 3 Pro to arrive. 2nd drone but have not flown in a few years as my first drone was not very good for video. I believe a recent update corrected the range issue. For me in the USA the allowable max range is is “unaided eyesight”. 😢
You’re gonna love it. In the UK is Visual line of sight but to be honest with you, that is pretty vague….. But I always recommend people not to fly to far away anyway. I hope you will get some stunning images!!
Excellent tutorial Samuel. I'm flying the old Evo1 and looking to get the mini3. Just waiting for DJI to put out about a few hundred more firmware updates. LOL Seriously it's an awesome drone. You gave some real good advice.
Thsnks for the feedback. My next video out tomorrow is about NDs for the mini3. You will like it.
Haven’t heard it said often and thanks for stressing it, battery life is no where near advertised, here in Arkansas USA, in summer I get Max 20 min. per full charge on the pro battery. The temps are in the upper 90s and high humidity. Good content, thanks
Thanks for the feedback and glad you enjoyed it!! 👍🙏
I just ordered my mini 3 pro, coming from the Mini SE, looking forward to the features. Thank you for an excellent and informative video! DJI has rolled out updates for the 10 bit cine and supposedly fixed the range issue. Any experience with that?
10 bit color space in dcine, brilliant. Range? It all depends where you film and how many interferences there are. It’s not the same to film in a busy city centre than in an open field or country side. Overall, I have no complaints!! I love it, it is a purchase well worth it.
Hi i love the video and the compositie and editing but there somethinf went wrong along producing the video or is it 2 me? The quality went down?
could it be that youtube has defaulted the playback resolution down to 720P? It happened to my wife and she said the same, the quality was rubbish, she expected much better quality. CZcams had changed her default playback resolution to 720P, which was signifanctly lower quality than she is used to... If that is not the case with you, which part you think is lower res/ quality?
Great video Are you Andy Garcias brother 😃
Thanks! He wish!! Hahaha
Thanks for the great tips.
Since you fly close to the ocean, did you ever had trouble with seagulls attacking your drone?
No problems at all, but maybe the ones where I went were cool and chilled out. Some other ones can be a bit more aggressive and territorial.. Or maybe I just was lucky...
This video is proof that good content does not only come from top channels or celb pages like Peter. Maybe b/c the motives are more honest. Very few bring up some of these issues like controls. There is a massive issue with the settings in sports mode. Yet only Ian from London and a few others discuss it. Flightpath and others just do the safe videos. And as such, they end up not being useful. Next to know one discusses how to fly the drone and do complex moves. like manual orbits etc.
Thanks for the feedback. You just made my day! What can I say other than more cool content to come! My next video, the cool aerial footage that I shot for this video, nicely edited and graded. It looks really nice. I hope people like it. Cheers !
Beautiful location! What is the name of the village and where is it? Really enjoyed watching and some great tips. 👍🇦🇺
It's called Corrubedo, in Galicia, Spain. Gorgeous village and I have a aerial video coming up soon with the best footage I shot in the days that I was there for. I think it will look really nice!!
@@SamuelSotiega Great! Looking forward to seeing more of you and the DJI Mini 3 Pro.
Hi, what ND filters would work well with it on a very bright day? Are 32 and 64 enough to film at 50 shutter speed or do I need 128? Thanks
You definitely need 128NF for bright sunny days. DEFINITELY! I left a link in the video’s description for the set that I used in this video. I also have a video on why using ND filters with the M3P, if interested….
@@SamuelSotiega Argh, I was afraid of this. I ordered a set of Freewell ND/PL that goes up to 64. I fell for the name "Bright Day" lol
I guess they're getting returned. I'll watch your other vid as well. Thanks!
@@lukastemberger Freewell has a separate set that includes 128, 256 and above. Unless you do timelapse or hyperlapse where you want those trails, for which you need longer exposure hence compensating with higher ND, for everyday filming on a sunny day, a 128 is a must. You might just get away in certain cases with 64ND but if you record skin tones, close to someone or a reflective/semi-shiny surface, etc, you will notice the 64ND isn't enough...
Thank you for the info! My husband gifted me from birthday! And my first fly was in Hawaii! I was afraid to fly it buy I have only one video because the battery died :( and I landed the drone asap :( LOL and part the video doesn’t recordered and don’t appear in my history :(
Well, you are lucky you have such good husband! With practice comes confidence and trust me, every time you’ll feel much more comfortable flying it. But I hope my tips and suggestions can help you.
@@SamuelSotiega thank you!! Yes I’m lucky 🙏🏻 have lot of plans with my drone! 🥰 today I received the bag kit with the extra batteries! New follower! Thank you for the tips!
HI Samuel, which program do you use to edit your videos? Cheers
Davinci resolve. I use the paid version but the free one is probably enough for 98% of people. I have a few videos also about it and how to get started, if interested…
@@SamuelSotiega I just installed it and I will check your tutorials for sure, thanks a lot!
@@fuchiloto amazing!!
I bought some M2 domed nuts which fit on the controller threads instead of sticks.
Ohh! That is interesting. Do you have a link to them or similar for me to check?
I got the nickel plated ones.
@@SamuelSotiega looks like CZcams has deleted my reply with the eBay UK item number.
The item is listed as: M2.0 Miniature Brass Hex Acorn Dome Nuts x10
@@grahamniven interesting! Do you feel it works better than just using the thumbs?
@@SamuelSotiega yes, I find it's more comfortable on your thumbs and easier to vary control input by small amounts.
Your signal/range problem is actually due to where you are geographically. In order to pass certain ratings/certifications, DJI needs to push down the power... and therefore range is only ok. The range is given in FCC mode (full power)
Thanks for chipping in. I am sure there will be plenty of people whjo will find your point interesting to read.
Have they updated the range?
They have improved things but I am not sure they have made an exponential leap forward. It is still an amazing little drone though... And they have introduced again tripod mode, now, that is cool...
Also, the warning sounds during take-off or landing or the positioning sounds are not audible in the rc remote. The warnings are text only, but the warning sounds are not audible
Nothing is perfect...
Does it have dual rates and expo for the controls, like a plane controller. ?
It has a lot of controls but not sure it mimics a plane controller. As a matter of fact, I never held a plane controller so I canMt really tell you…
@@SamuelSotiega mine arrived early. It comes with 25% built into the cyclic, and 20% on the rudder in cine mode.
@@retroonhisbikes did you change the C mode settings to be much slower?
@@SamuelSotiega they are preset. When i take it out for the first time i’’l try normal, before doing the slow stuff
@@retroonhisbikes if you want slow movement you will need to dial down the C mode settings to the max. It will be too abrupt otherwiseZ
8:58 never knew about ND filters here
Glad you got that out of the video! And yes, they make a huge difference in terms of quality.
I capture video in D-Cine.... But when try to open with davinci resolve... Seems davinci not recognize the file 🤦. And yes.. this is easy drone. This is my first drone ever and I play with it just 1 week roughly... Aleady hand catching when landing and fly at night... We just need to be carefull and play it slow and relax at the first.
I don't experience that with my davinci resolve, ever. It is odd. Try changing the recording codec so if you are on mac, choose mov and PC MP4. Let me know if that helps. I agree with you, careful and slow and you probably never get into trouble! Amazing visuals for sure!!
Before relying on sensors remember 3 things:
Wires - this drone doesn't have top sensors, so if you launch it somewhere near electric line be careful.
Branches - it doesn't see them, if there's no leafs on branches, it just doesn't, be aware of that and don't crash your drone.
Flying sideways - in follow mode especially, since the drone doesn't see sideways, be EXTRA aware of surroundings and be careful when launching it sideways, make sure it is at sufficient height and there's nothing that it can bump into.
Oh, and don't try flying it through your apartment windows or through your car like it's an fpv drone, first it will stop because of the collision warning and if you turn it sensors off it will crash, that's it.
Everything except cables is from my personal experience, don't make my mistakes and keep your drone and yourself safe
Very sensible advice!
Ok we are on the same page again, I don’t use the sticks in any mode, they protrude out way to far, need to see some stubby sticks, maybe cut the sticks in half.
Uhmm, that could well be a good option!! 👍👍
i doubt you did only 2 km with your mini3. i saw some video of people doint range test and one did 9km round trip so thats 4.5 km in and return 4.5 othe one did 22km round trip 11km in and 11km return so your 2km / doubt it must have been a very bad battery
I can only tell you what I experienced at the time. But like I said,, DJI keep releasing firware updates and that will improve, Also, some people set/ hack their RC controller to different settings or licenses, like FCC. I was justy using the default RC settings as that is what most people will do. But like everything in life, there will be clever bees out there who know how to squeeze every drop of performance out of the RC controller. The average Joe will probably not fall in that category... I hope this makes sense... By the way, thanks for chipping in!!! If you know how to get FCC performance in the mini 3 RC controller, feell free to share it so other people can benefit from your knowledge... Thanks in adavnce!
I wish i have a drone for my vlog..
It is such a good a reliable kit. I am soon publishing my long term review so stay tuned!
Nice
Can you please do a video talking about how the Mini 3 Pro overheats? I’m not talking about when transferring files. I’m talking about *in flight*. When that happens it enters a failsafe auto land mode in which you have zero control. It does not return to home, rather it lands on whatever it is over at that moment. People have already lost drones because of this. DJI needs to at least provide a warning system to let users know that an overheat is imminent and allow them to manually control the landing of the drone.
I have personally experienced this and talked to others who have as well. I can provide you flight logs if you want. Please help start bringing awareness to this so DJI does something about it!
dont use sports mode ;)
I have never exeprienced that, to be honest. But then again, I usually don't fly midday when it is hotter. What fly mode people use when they experience overheating, do you know?
hey Sam I read a Pocket 3 is coming out in November. Marty Sender You Tube
I heard that rumour back in January. But you never know these days. Whenever it comes out I hope they genuinly listen to users and pay attention to what the competition is doing and the new camera tech and developments because I love using it, I take it everywhere I go but as my video about my wishlist on the pcoket 3 shows, there is plenty of room for improvement... Let's all hope DJI is listening!!
Where r you located? As if you are in ce mode there no way is ever going to make good range.
I am UK based so pretty much everywhere in Europe in populated city, range is crap.
Everyone claims this thing is quiet. I guess it’s all relative, but I can easily hear it at 300’ AGL.
When you compare it to other DJI drones and drones in general, it is quiet. It is not silent, but quiet. Now, what the term quiet means to different people is open to debate…
Supposedly the range issue is fixed
Well, I was filming on Saturday around Tower Bridge area in London and the range is still crap. You can "hack" ther RN1 controller to use FCC using apps you can install on your phone but the RC with the built-in screen is not that easy so you are stuck with CE which is far, far from ideal... But I am sure, like everything in life, with time and firmware updates, it will improve, expecially if they allow 3rd party aps to be installed in the RC cointroller, that would then allow for easily switch from CE to FCC... But for now, it is what it is, still an amazing drone and amazing experience, 100%.
DJI has fixed the range issue shortly after your video.
Maybe they watched my video! 😀😀 I spoke to them today about providing video feed out from the RC.. Let’s see if they implement it soon..
@@SamuelSotiega DJI seems to listen to customers much more than they did when I got my Phantom 3 standard.
For the insurance, in my opinion you are better of using the drone from Amazon and get the Asurion 2 or 3 year warranty. It covers anything the original warranty covers after it is over PLUS accidental damage. They will either repair it or give you back the money you paid for it. No shipping costs. The DJI programs is a ripoff.
Coverdrone has also a very good policy, way cheaper (in the UK) than DJI’s and also you pay small monthly amounts, rather than a one off lump sum. Good to share options for people…
the range is far better in FCC mode , in CE mode its not that great .
Fair enough. I am sort of OK with it. It would be nice if the range was better but for most people, including me, 2km is fine. But I do expect over time to improve as they roll out firmware updates.. but good to know the r difference in range based on the different drone lode!
@@SamuelSotiega assuming you are from a CE country , the controller can be easely switched into fcc mode . czcams.com/video/-TyKbxLNFD0/video.html , if you are interested this guy can do it remotely , all i can say ites really worth it :)
Its so quiet birds tries to bully it .
Indeed! God knows what goes through their mind when they see it! 😄
Don't know why everybody recommend getting more batteries...
The reviewers that promote this fly a lot, for lots fo beginners, having only one battery might not be an issue.
Thanks for chipping in! That might be true to you, but most people want to fly more than 20-25m at a time. If you go through the hassle of finding a spot, taking your drone, possibly travel to another town, city, estate, country, etc, you don’t want to be limited to a 25m window. And unless you have more batteries, that is impossible. Just because you are ok with 25m doesn’t mean the same applies to the majority. I hope you are able to appreciate that….
The advantage of an extra battery is that you can be up and away again after a quick switch. Otherwise you have to wait while the battery is being charged. Meanwhile that gorgeous sunset is quickly disappearing
@@psoon04286 my sunset are rarely more than 30 minutes 🙂
@@tiloalo that’s true. Shooting stills it takes just a split second to capture a sunset, but here we’re talking about capturing a cinematic video of the sun setting sequence. Think of a timelapse
I bought the extended battery and that's all I need to go practice daily. That's all the anxiety I can take, lol...
