The time in the further does not really work like it does in the real world. So the scene where Renai and Josh were at the bedroom, talking, and then they heard the loud banging on the door, it was still the real Josh who was with her.
Time does not exist in the Further meaning they can time travel back and forth to the future and past. That’s how josh saw himself and how he set off the alarm

You can tell Josh was not himself because he (Parker) was trying real hard to convince the family nothing was Happening. Parker really wanted to be alive again and wouldn’t let ANYONE take his second chance away from him. So he had to convince them nothing was going on. 😮

When the astral Josh knock the door we can see the demon which abused renei in the part 1......so here the time line is the time line of insidious part 1 and if you can remember there was the same scene where Josh heard the door knocks and he saws nothing and set the door alarm... So who knock the door in part 1 is astral Josh from part 2....

idk, i kinda feel like in part 1 during the bedroom scene it might’ve not been josh, because when renai asked him what’s his favorite song of hers he dodged that question, laughed & said ‘you should write a song about me’ a little fishy, so i’m not entirely sure if that was him fully or not in part 1.

Let me explian in the Further time works differently so it can also over lap as well. Young Josh saw his future self being trapped there and he saw Elise and he decided to help them. Time means nothing down in the Further so all timelines intercespt in that place all at once. I love this one because it explians things unanswered in the first movie. The next two are with Elise but they are prequels to the first two movies so Josh and them are not there but they are all in the 5th one and yes it's all the same actors as well even of the kids. Can't wait to see how you react to the 3rd one cause not many liked it though I thought it was interesting and the 4rth one will give you more info about Elise and her backstory as well.

I'm trans and this movie gives me such a range of emotions. Being raised as a girl, being scolded for doing 'boy' things, the sense of having lost a childhood. It's all just a very odd feeling. (My parents weren't crazy like Mrs. Crane, btw; they were just doing their best.)
If you think about it, horror movies have often represented the community or minorities, even putting them as villains, it is something that I personally like a lot.

It's complicated in a lot of ways for sure, especially when the concepts aren't well done. I'm a bit too tired to articulate, so I hope you get what I'm saying? Like, this isn't a horror film with a trans villain, this is a movie with a severely abused villain and a lot of "cool story, still murder" vibes. Though in Parker's case, he's much less at fault. I think he was psychically sensitive while alive and that's why he could be bullied by his mother even after her death. He understood that he could take over a child's body and killed himself to do so. Dude had a lot more going on than the movie could address.
I get what ur saying but this movie is a bit on the opposite of that right? u were scolded for doing boy things, which u wanted to do, while being a girl...parker was scolded for wanting to act like a boy,which he was, and forced to act like a girl....not quite the same.I see it more as a cautionary tale if anything...don't force ur kids to be what they aren't or what u would like them to be, let them decide for themselves and support whatever that might be!!!🙂
This film is exactly a critique of that There are many sick people, especially in Western countries, who are trying to implant this transsexuality thing in the minds of their children, whether by manipulating it in schools or directly from home or in children's films, etc. You were raised as a girl because you are a girl, and this is not about prejudice, it is about fact! All this difficulty you went through, you went through it because of you and that's it! After all, you had the choice to be a normal person, to be treated like a normal person, but YOU decided to do the opposite. The best thing you could do for yourself is to accept who you are (A GIRL) and stop pretending to be what you are not (A boy) The film is a direct criticism of people who impose this kind of thing on children's heads. I hope you get well

I really liked the plot twist with Josh being the one that caused some of the stuff in the first movie.
This movie made a lot of money at the box office, $161 million dollars against a $5 million dollar budget.
