Good to see a DPS bow ranger, I used to play a build like this with spike damage and interrupt capability. In addition to your nice guide, I would like to focus on timing of your attacks, makes you lose a bit of DPS, because when a normal attack animation start and you click on an attack skill, it cancel the normal attack to start the skill animation attack, which makes you lose DPS. Better let the normal attack fire and then launch your combo skill with good timings. It's nothing important, but if it helps someone... Otherwise thank you for making GW live through your videos 😊
Hello Nicolas thank you for everything you said. I have to admit that I'm a very bad player when it comes to ranger because it's probably the class I have played the least in GW 1. I know that the ranger has gameplay mechanics that are idiosyncratic to itself so I'll pick them all up in due time hopefully. There is a guy who created a hero team build that allows him to clear DoA much faster than the other teams that exists. I asked him to share the builds because honnestly it looks really fun but he refused and he keeps it a secret. I gathered some info about his builds so I want to share them here. I'm not skilled enough to recreate the builds myself so I hope someone else will so that people can enjoy this team composition. He has a really selfish attitude and I think knowledge should be shared amongst the few players that remains. Anyway, here are the info I got : the team is composed of only necros as main profession the whole team can gather around 50 or 60 minions which are all melee, including shambling horrors. I know at least one hero had aura of the lich. the principle is that the minion gets the enemies stuck. Then chaotic tempest are casted. Since the enemies are in the tempests, they want to move, so they don't use skills but they can't leave because of the minions. I'm sure it's more complicated than that. That's all the infos I have. It seems really fun and I'd like to play it but this asshole refuses to share anything. So I share the infos I have in the hopes it can benefit the community.

@@elemair9210 I wholeheartedly agree with you about builds having to be shared with the community don't get me wrong. But I have very little knowledge about DoA (because I couldn't buy nightfall until very late back in the day) and therefore my input would probably be misleading unless I see this person's build myself. But even then, as I said, I wouldn't be able to assess it in a just manner because I know DoA very little
i seriously doubt 7 necro primary hero's are doing doa faster than up to date mesmer-way heros' with heroic refrain + tengus , not saying you are lying but this "person" is probably talking crap tbqh . there are some contagion saccer necro hero builds that are good dps in doa but that doesnt seem to be what you are talking about .. whats this persons name/guild or where can we find their content ? me/n is a common trope to get quick minions into play with death nova on them using the fast casting effect ; this is already well known to most seasoned players.

@@KrythsGWStuff I just made one last week and started over. It just Monk seems hardest least recommended so it's the hardest to find builds for PvE. I think in PvP it is mostly the same builds so PvE would be more fun if you can.

Those are some really high dmg numbers for a ranger! I always couldn’t resist playing around with the different “conjure ” builds. I would add that this build begs to be used with a storm bow 😊

I wasn't expecting those numbers either truth be told 🙂 The reason I'm using ordinary armor and weapon skins is because this character is super new and also I had to use hornbow for the inherent armor penetration which buffs the 2 sundering bow attax. Is stormbow of hornbow kind? If so it'd fit like a glove to the whole concept hehe 🙂

Still doubt that'd generate enough energy to spam all the other 5 skills. Not to mention if prepared shot misses you're done for :p you also need a hornbow for the inherent ap to buff up sundering and penetrating attax
@KrythsGWStuff hornbow is trash. If you want dps get a vampiric string. Expertise @14 makes 10e ranger skills cost 4e. Only 3e if you run a zealous bow string. Far cheaper than 6e.
@@justice_1337 hornbow is necessary for this particular build due to its inherent ap, and its slow attack speed is rendered irrelevant because all the bow attax except slothhunter cast in less than a second, as I explained in the video. Secondly I can't get vampiric AND zealous bowstrings at the same time. Last but not least, even at 14 expertise + experts focus + prepared shot, you are relying on an elite which casts at normal attack speed which compromises your dps due to slow shooting. Combined with sloth hunters that's a huge loss in dps. If you are hungry for dps I'd recommend dropping drunken master for iamthestrongest since faster attack speed doesn't mean much here except for one skill.

The reason I'm dealing so much damage in the video is the hornbows inherent %10 armor penetration combined with the attack skills. (especially sundering and penetrating attacks). The bow's shortcomings are irrelevant because of the structure of the build as I already explained. 🙄 What is more, I try to make builds as self sufficient as possible (which I also explained in one of my previous videos), otherwise I'd just play meta and cancel this channel. If you're going go down the meta route why bring a ranger bow dps in the first place? Just play TaO daggers or whatever. Last but not least I'm not forcing you to play this, if you think you have a better build play that 🤷 The only thing I'm willing to concede is bringing I am the strongest. Otherwise I stand by the build.

Why Expertise 10+1? With These Skills there ist No benefit from it
12 Expertise reduces 10 Energy Skill by 5
At 11 expertise the energy gain from Marksmans wager is 9 as opposed to 8. Basically it's a breakpoint.
