Pros
- Folds up to a very compact size for easy transportability.
- 720p HD camera video is recorded directly to a micro SD card inserted into the quadcopter. This eliminates WiFi lag from the recorded video. The JY UFO app is used to start and stop this recording. The camera button on the controller is inoperative.
- Real time FPV video is viewed on your smart phone via the JY UFO app available on Google Play here goo.gl/hgSW5f and iTunes here goo.gl/hK6dNJ
- Flight modes include altitude hold, headless mode, one key return, automatic takeoff, and automatic landing.
- Quadcopter starts descending to an automatic landing if flown out of range. Descent will continue if reception is regained, but may be stopped by pushing up on throttle stick.
Cons
- Can only record video directly to the onboard SD card. The app does not record the WiFi FPV video to your phone. This is the first WiFi FPV flier that I've seen without such capability. This may be a plus though as most WiFi video is laggy with much frame dropping.
- Two antennas on the controller are fake and are cosmetic only.
- Proprietary 3.7V 500mah battery. However battery can be charged by any micro USB cable.
- Phone holder can turn off your phone if it has on/off button its side. You may need to use spacers to prevent such.
- I experienced a drop out, but it may have been due to a poorly seated battery.

For the power button issue, most of these toy quads with wifi, you can flip the screen and use your phone with the power button facing down. My first drone was a toy one that was like that per default. First time I was going to fly I put my phone with the power button up and the picture was upside down, thats how I discovered that option. I have E58 as my second quad and I like it. Now I am waiting for my first Tiny7 that I will fly with goggles. =) Great review btw. =)

I used to buy cheap quads and was addicted to this channel...then I bought a DJI Phantom/Mavic and stopped having any trouble flying, no more lost drones. Mavic video is movie quality. I do miss the great commentary! This Mavic clone is a hoot...but we wont say Mavic (shhh).

this was also my first drone, knowing what i know now first drones should have GPS hold lol
The trick to almost all folding drones is always face them nose up, then front up, back down. Front legs fold out and up, back legs usually roll down and out. Easy way to avoid fumbling so you can debag and fly within a few seconds if you see something incredible happen that you want to film. No point carrying a camera with you if you can't use it nearly instantly.

Thanks for uploading this vid. I ordered one of these yesterday as my first drone, stupidly I didn't check any reviews first, and this has reassured me that I didn't waste my money. Looks more than capable of doing what I want it for.

For the price (Think I paid about £20 for it $25USD) it wasn't bad. I was never able to get it to link to my phone via the app, and never managed to get the camera working, but it seemed to fly ok using the controller. I don't have any experience of other drones to compare it to, but it certainly provided some entertainment while I was on vacation :) @@Eggvs

As a word of advice to anyone who gets one of these drones - the landing tabs fall out extremely easy, so BEFORE your first flight with it, you should superglue or epoxy the landing tabs into the holes where they go. You should do the same with the propeller protectors, if you wish to use them. Also, contrary to what the guy said in this video, you CAN record video and photos directly to the phone, as long as you connect your phone's wifi to the drone.
Years ago, i came up with that same brilliant idea after constantly looking for these things in the grass. But the holes for the front two landing tabs weren't totally waterthight, and my superglue got into the gears of the 2 front arms, making the drone unable to fly anymore, i could purchase replacement arms tho, but it was very frustrating at the timr

Chris Settree you have obviously not done any research. The DJI Phantom 3 can only go out about 800 meters, where's the Xiaomi has gone up to 5,200 meters. The camera quality is superior, 4K VS 2.7K. The Xiaomi is around 420 dollars, and the Phantom 3 is at least 500 dollars. Please do your research.

They do list spare batteries, approx. $5 each, which is pretty high for a 1S 500mah battery (you can buy same size non-proprietary for half that amount). The Wi-Fi video was choppy and froze up, but that's to be expected. I was interested to see what the sdcard video would look like, and while it had very minimal jello, the bad thing was that it is not recording at the nominal 30 FPS (29.97fps). Can't confirm this, but if you looked at the properties on one of the video files with Windows Explorer, it should give you the FPS. Base model with the lousy 0.3Mp camera & 1 battery is $34.95, and if you go 'whole hog' and get the better 720P camera and a couple spare batteries, its up to $55 .. which I guess isn't bad. Not in love with proprietary batteries, or wi-fi quads with altitude hold. Those fake antenna are suppose to add to the "Look" which is trying to simulate a DJI Mavic & its transmitter. Not too bad for a n00b, looking for a cheap, portable quad with some video ability (a shame it can't be activated from the TX). I'm waiting for Black Friday to see what all these new quads will be priced at .. perhaps you will be able to get a 'steal' in less than a month. Thanks for the review. Cheers.
The video frame rate is about 20 frames per second.
Thanks for confirming .. that explains why the sdcard video isn't as smooth as, say, an 808 Keychain 720P camera, or a Mobius Mini.
Was looking at this one, can deal with the cartridges because I'd just convert the bay to use syma batteries. But if the camera can not even shoot 30 frames that's a deal breaker. Even these cheap Syma quads shoot 30 frames and you can remove the camera. If a quad is going to require you to carry the camera at all times, it better be a good jello free 720 camera like on the Cheerwing CW4. Will pass on this until they improve their camera.
i like how you bitch and moan and then are looking for a deal on a 40 dollar drone.... if you ask any engineer this is actually a wonder of technology for 40 dollars with a 720p if you want better go ahead spend 3k plus on a "good" one that in 2 years will be looked at as you look at a pentium 2
For the type :-Camera is good. Flies reasonably well except for relatively short range. Not the cheapest, not the worst and not the best. Good review

Don't buy anything from Banggood. They will send you a defective drone and there is no way you can get a Full Refund. Even if you use PAYPAL you can't get a Full Refund. The two companies are working together to cheat US customers!

I was not offered a full refund because Banggood wanted me to pay the shipping charge from the US to Singapore. That's not the definition of a FULL REFUND in the US. This is the first defective item I have gotten from Banggood. How about it, anybody else in the US gotten the shaft from Banggood?

Very nice looking , foldable but already small in size , can handle crash BUT propellers to fragile (will definitly break often), way to light so hard to fight the wind or light breaze ,flight time 8 min max..
3 words : do not buy
I have a quite few hours of flying my E58. The prop blades are hinged so they absorb the impact. I have had many, many crashes, but the original props are still working fine !
This looks so similar to the NicerGear --FOLDING UAV FOUR-AXIS AIRCRAFT WIFI DIAGRAM PASSING HIGH AERIAL REMOTE CONTROL PLANE UAV that I just ordered but this is half the price and looks great. Great video!

Well at least it has a nice wide angle cam without jello, that's good but I still prefer my Jjrc h38wh: I don't know how many times I have been clipping in and out those arms in the last few months but it's still working fine...and by the way I have found your review about that particular model really fair and informative. we got one this week, and immediately tried to record footage from phone, and it worked like a charm. both video and photo. I dont know what you did, but we just started video with the app button, same with the photo button.

Thats my first ever drone and i learnd fast. Even dropped and bumped many times until now still working. Now im enjoying my bugs 3 and spark. If U expertised to fly the eachine, believe me it is easier to maneuver bigger drone becoz you can fly against the wind.

ive crashed mine quite a few times....some full speed into a wall, van, a drop from about 20ft.. pretty durable and parts are availible

I just purchased this from Banggood for $54.99 that includes 3 batteries. I want this primarily for my RC club indoor flights. If I want performance outside, I have a DJI Mavic. ;)
As a beginner, I bought one of these, which I promptly lost >_> I decided to try again and got a replacement. I thought I'd try to look for the old one using the new one and lo and behold, I managed to >< The fact that these are as cheap as they are is a massive selling point, I'd initially bought the 3 battery version (hence me wanting to find it rather than biff the batteries), but now that I have 2 I fly one and my daughter flies one when we go for adventure bike rides. The're not top of the range, but if you lose one or it's destroyed it's of little consequence.
Also the local police only asked me about it once, they took a look at it, called it cute and left me to it.
Thanks for pointing out the emergency stop button, was wondering about that. Also, that L1 button seems to do something if it's half down. The drone lights blink until it's long pressed again. I'm not sure what else it's doing besides that
