TROPHY REQUIREMENTS:
"Bat out of Hell":
Complete Timed Mode in 4 minutes or less.
"Last Resort":
During the final chase in Timed Mode, drink the purple potion upstairs instead of running out the entrance.
"Master Troll":
Complete Story Mode with a score of at least 6,000. - Hry
out of all horror games i’ve played in my lifetime, black rose is the only game that actually makes my heart 100 mph.

1 what inspired you to make it .
2 the models you made of myrtle and Sullivan are they inspired form any other media or horror related thing.
3 I know that Sullivan tears you into 3 pieces when he kills you but what happens in his jumpscare
4 any other lore bits you may have added into the game that you maybe scrapped or any cool facts that i may have missed

This game is just magnificent. I've loved since I first played it many years ago... Despite getting scared to death lol.
One question though, why does Miles softly says "No." Before Sullivan throws his coffin out the Visitation Room? Was it as a warning for Linda to start running away? That part had me shook lol.
Thank you!! It means a lot to me to hear that. To answer your question, it's actually supposed to be Sullivan's voice. He's trying to stop and catch you. I just did the voices for both characters, so I can see where it might be confusing. Heh

this has to be one of the greatest if not the best free horror games I really enjoy playing it with my friends and all getting spooked together.
and I have some questions about some lore/parts in the game
1: how does the little kid Devin rains die and what happened after the search that is mentioned in the final note in the game.
2:how does the house collect souls it is just all the ghost and souls trapped in it or is it something more demonic
3:also is there any scraped ideas you had in the development of black rose like a scraped ghost before the 2 main ones or an area?

1. Devin got trapped underneath the sliding door in the floor. Later during the search Sullivan awoke, and killed everyone.
2. It's basically just all the energy in that location forming a big vortex, from all the death and pain over years.
3. Well I first considered making Devin's ghost have much more interaction with the player. I started to make a little hide and seek game he would play with you before giving you the key. But then I decided it was too much work, and just slowing down development of the actual game.

Yes, to v1.5.0 (of the Game Jolt version). I don't have any achievements for the Steam version yet, but I hope to add some in the future! Also, you'll need to have a Game Jolt account. But there wouldn't really be much of a point in collecting trophies if you didn't. :P

I have some questions though:
1) Is this myrtle's ghost or myrtle's corps that is chasing you?
2) That key that Linda picks up in Sullivan's coffin, why does she wants it originally?
3) If Miles was Myrtle and Sullivan's dear friend, why does Sullivan kills him?

I can answer 2 and 3. 2) the key in the coffin is to unlock the door in the first Sullivan chase because linda is stuck im there anc the door is locked
3) Sullivan didnt want ANYONE to touch his rose. It makes him angry

For the 2 I knew that already but I said "originally". She saw the piece of paper witn the coffin drawn in it witn a key inside. Before she enter the room she couldn't possibly know she was about to be locked in it and she couldn't even less know that this key would open that door
Long time no see. Now i think that sullivan couldnt be himself anymore, until he came to contact with myrtle and same with her. And thats why they both decided not to kill linda at the end
Het Sir Bedlam, I'd like to ask about the mutilated corpses in the underground tunnel. Are those the remains of the employees who were killed by Sullivan?
Yes! Indeed they were.
I knew it! That explains the "oppressive miasma" part, it refers to the stench of those corpses. That was a grim detail that I noticed.

For close calls with myrtle i always go to that empty room upstairs. Am i the only one who uses it
6:51 Is it a mistake if you going back to the coffin after when Myrtle said ''Stay with me...'' Can it be a new ending about the player making Myrtle happy, like the player listening to Myrtle
Nc . No, that doesn't do anything.
Why? So... Myrtle wants to sleep with the player?
Nc . What? No, it's something she says because she's lonely, and wants company. Nothing gets triggered by you actually going back to her coffin, though. You would just stand there. The only way to make her happy is to actually reunite her with Sullivan at the end of the game.
Oh, but what about the new ending there you make Myrtle happy before she will try to kill you
That's what I was referring to. That's the only way to make her happy.

Haxior I only have English for this game, I'm sorry. In the future with my other games I do want to have multiple languages supported.
ok but I know english and polish and I could do this version, I have OmegaT and MemoQ but I do not know if it is possible for me to translate this game cause I was trying to open all files by OmegaT and it saying: Your project doesn't contain any files in supported formats.
Haxior Oh, I see what you meant now. Unfortunately I don't have access to this project anymore, as the hard drive it was being stored on crashed. I'm still hoping someday I can get it recovered. But even if I had it, I don't think I would ever want to add anything else to Black Rose, as it was my first published game and I think now I just want to leave it be.
I've considered translating some of my future games, but I've kind of been going through a drought for a while, as far as creative energy and motivation. Thank you, though. I appreciate your willingness to contribute.

ı have questions:
1)what happens if you drink purple drink in timed mode?
2)what happend to miles who is writing notes?
The purple drink makes you let out a horrendous fart that knocks Myrtle out, thus allowing you to escape.
Miles was killed by Sullivan at the top of the ladder while trying to escape. He almost made it out, but not quite. This is why his ghost appears at the top of the ladder, reaching down to pull you up. Linda (the protagonist) would have died otherwise, like him.

2) As described in Story Mode, they were close friends since childhood, and had a special love for each other. That was their unresolved issue from life.
3) Because he has a lot of regret and strong emotion associated with it, and due to the nature of the item, is extremely protective of it.
4) Simply because that's the nature of her ghost.
5) Sullivan doesn't. His nature is different.
6) The Family Room is an empty room that had no purpose in the game. I decided to just give it a purpose by calling it the Family Room.

I used to play this game a lot and I found a lot and found many things like things I want answers to and glitches like in the 3rd part I went through the floor, sometimes I fell forever and sometimes I fell and landed on the invisible floor or whatever it is. But I did hear you could not get back into the project of the game. Is it true?

@@SirBedlamProductions ah, well where does he spawn after you make it to the ground floor? Does he actually come up through the fireplace?
@@secretblue0290 Well, technically the Sullivan that's chasing you up the ladder is disabled, and another instance of him is activated right at the fireplace opening behind you. There's a brief delay in between, though, to give you a chance to get the controls again and keep running.
@@SirBedlamProductions another question that i just realized, i've sometimes seen sullivan spawn in other parts of the lockdown room instead of right beside the door. What causes that?

This is a great game but I’m stuck on the Ladder part
How do I get past it?
I'm afraid there's no way other than to simply mash the keys fast enough. I do get a lot of people who struggle with that part. If I can ever locate/replace the game's missing shader files, I would make that part a little easier.

I remember coming across it all the way back in Middle using a school computer (yes Ik lol) I’m 18 now and this game still looks great
I guess my only issue is we don’t get to learn about Linda since she is our playable character but otherwise that plus the ladder issue it’s a great game
One thing I’m still confused about, was Devon actually murdered by Michael?

Linda has always been a developing main character of mine, ever since I was little. I use her in a lot of my creations, and had always planned to share more of her story. The biggest project I've ever had in progress that delves into her story is my game "Lucid". After my hard drive with it crashed years ago I became extremely depressed over it. Just a while back I got it recovered. But the latest scene I had been working on in that game is corrupt, and there are some other problems in the project as well. It's just been a bit discouraging, and I've felt overwhelmed a lot. Linda definitely has a much bigger story, though.
To be completely honest, it was never actually my intention that Michael intentionally trapped Devin in the basement. Rather the handle had already broken off, Michael held onto it, and Devin was unfortunate enough to wander inside and get trapped. It was more his own mischievous nature that finally led him to his end. I've just never really specified that, as the other assumption isn't even much of a stretch given their dynamic, so I've simply left it up to interpretation. Devin being taught "a lesson" was still foreshadowing.

It's a purple potion that acts as some sort of laxative, I don't even know... All I know is it makes you immediately fart, and it's bad enough to knock Myrtle out. It's a joke ending that doesn't really have much meaning to it, just some random humor.
