I, from small Bosnia, was so excited when Jeremy Corbin was running for PM, when kids sung his name in busses and on stadiums while he was promoting nothing more than common sense. Him in UK, Sanders in US... it looked like the world had a chance of becoming a better place.
A few years later, after Corbin said Palestinians have the right to live and that Russians should be heard and talked to, we have two major wars, hundreds of thousands dead, fear of nuclear destruction...

Elphicke is standing down at the next election. She will not be a Labour MP for long.
Labour will retain their existing candidate in Dover and Deal at the next general election and Mrs Elphicke will stand down. The constituency replaces Dover, where Mrs Elphicke had a majority of 12,278 at the last election, following boundary changes
Room for scepticism about this. If she really intends to stand down at the GE, what was the point in changing parties when there may be only a few weeks to run in the current Parliament?

George you are a breath of fresh air in the house of Parliament, however please can you tell us why you think all of the illegal refugees, mostly young men, and barely no women or children, basically thousands of young men of military fighting age. Who if as you say are fleeing conflicts in their own countries, are these young men leaving tje women and children to do all the fighting? Or are those men coming to start a fight on our shores? Which is it George? Please tell us
Probably a variety of reasons for that. If you were forced to travel halfway around the world in very dangerous conditions, dealing with gangs involved in sex trafficking and all kinds of other nasty stuff, would you drag your wife and kids along with you on that journey? I certainly wouldn't.
I suggest you try and empathise with their situation a little more. They're just desperate people looking for a better life for themselves and their families. Absolutely nothing wrong with that. But it's sad that the UK can't provide those opportunities any more, because of endemic incompetence and corruption. That's where the blame should lie. We should stop blaming each other and focus on the real enemy.
