From what I’ve read in my state of South Carolina, nut butter is prohibited for me to make and sell out of my home. I don’t have a basement, and can’t turn my garage into a separate space to make anything. Doesn’t seem like that would be an issue as it doesn’t require a certain temp range to be safe to eat, as far as I know.

Hey Justin in many states the law may not have it listed and if so ... make it. If the state says anything ( which is highly unlikely) the list of allowed SHOULD state this.

I'm from Oregon and we produce confections from our licensed home kitchen. I'm trying to find out if we're allowed to selling online based on our cottage food law. I'm not able to find information anywhere. Hoping you could help. Thank you in advance.

Oregon’s new cottage food law (SB 320) went into effect on January 1st, 2016, which makes starting a cottage food operation much easier. Although the new law comes with many more restrictions, those who want more flexibility can still get a domestic kitchen license. Also, Oregon’s Farm Direct Bill allows farmers and growers to bypass many requirements.
Starting a cottage food operation in Oregon is relatively simple, requiring only food handlers' training and no license or inspection from the ag department. However, operations can only sell up to $20,000 of non-PHF baked and confectionary goods each year. Also, indirect sales (via stores and restaurants) and online sales are prohibited.
