When you bite into the service menu and turn RF power down ( 1 1/2- 2 watts ), turn up the modulation, this radio turns into a monster. Used with the DIGIMIKE.. Great for driving a "reverse Pre-Amp" Cheers MJ
I sure enjoy watching your fine videos. Just FYI, 1 S-unit on your meter is not 1 dB. Each S-unit = 6 dB. So, a S5 reading is actually 30 dB (5 X 6 = 30 -- not 5 dB), S9 = 54 dB, etc. Therefore, a meter reading of +10 dB over S9 actually equals 64 dB total. I wish my 2970N3 had a Weather Channel, Some don't like having the Weather available, as for myself, I think it's a valuable asset that can save your butt one day. Speaking of "White noise" the RCI 2970n3 or any other Ranger for that matter, is plagued with it, unfortunately the only way to get rid of it is by running the receive through a computer AI download as far as I know. Very nice affordable radio with a lot of features at a good price....Another radio that's very comparable is the Anytone AT 500m AM FM with extra channels
nice radio, lots of features. Just looked it up on Amazon, was 169.00 -6% = 159.00, not to bad but don't use the by month plan, cost to much. have a great day, hope you feel better soon.
