remember guys: THAT'S the Nick Bruiser that Glass Joe is said to have beaten. hence the 1-99 streak. it's said that Nick Bruiser was sending Glass Joe to the cleaners, and suddenly, Nick Bruiser slipped on a pool of blood that came from Glass Joe, and was somehow knocked unconscious.
It's my understanding that, despite increasing the likelihood of punches slipping off, the reason petroleum jelly is allowed is because it also works as a sort of safety measure for both fighters. In the same way it lets punches slip off more easily, it prevents the gloves from causing friction burns on an opponents face. Also, it helps prevent cuts, and in the instance that a boxer is cut, it helps stem the bleeding.
It is just a safety and sanitary thing. If every fight ended in blood it would be a very quick and unappealing sport so yeah petroleum jelly is allowed

it's amazing that little mac who's 5'7 and weighs in at 107 lbs, can fight on equal footing with Donkey Kong who's 6'1, when he's standing on his knuckles, and 7'10 when he's standing upright, and weighing in at 800 lbs...he may suck as a smash character, but holy hell can he lay a pounding...
I mean, if Mac had better aerial movement he could be top tier easy with how strong his ground game is, unfortunetly, Smash is a game where aerial game is just if not more important thanks to the big void that surrounds every stage
When Mac was first revealed, people thought for sure he would be top tier because he's BEASTLY strong and hits like a truck. The trailer told us he was bad in the air but it didn't seem that important at the time.
Then it turned out to be extremely important.

Something I saw in a comment section mentioned that King Hippo did actually go to the check in initially unlike Nick and Rick Bruiser. The problem is that no one knew where he was from and he doesn’t speak a language anyone there could understand so they couldn’t get any information out of him. Plus he was most likely too heavy for the scale they had and broke it, resulting in an unknown weight. As for his age it’s possible he may have written it down but in another language so no one could read it as well.

Punch Out Wii has an underrated soundtrack imo. The main theme alone is a banger, but there are genuinely great songs for this one too. I wish Nintendo would release a Punch Out for the Switch tbh.

Hey Kyle, might I recommend checking out the channel Gamechamp3000? She (Gamechamp, despite what their voice may lead you to believe, is a transgender woman) makes a series called VG Myths, essentially a bunch of often creative and ALWAYS entertaining challenge runs of various video games. I HIGHLY recommend giving it a look, as they're some of the highest quality there is and WILL get more than one laugh out of you.
If you do find it worth checking out, I'd look through her channel first for any games you happen to be familiar with. If there aren't any but you still want to, I'd say that the best places to start (and examples of what the rest of the videos are like) are:
Can you beat Rockman/Megaman without getting hit?
Can you beat Super Mario Odyssey without jumping? (Plus its addendum videos)
Can you beat Pokemon without getting hit?
Can you beat Breath of the Wild without climbing?
