I am desperate as a multiracial African American woman wish there were more people that are a 1/4 white or 1/4 black that would talk about their experiences with race in America because I myself am not seen as biracial but that was my experience! Though I'm not light skinned at all my features are very much mixed to the point that I experienced bullying because black girls would say "you ain't just black your hair is too long, your face looks different, why do you sound like that" I was never allowed to be black. I was raised by so many different cultures and ethnicities that my experience wasn't just black or white yet I can't find anyone that talks about being a quarter mixed. I'm looked at like I'm anti-black if I claim everything I am or if I date someone who isn't black when I'm not I'm just proud of all the ethnicities that created me I knew what they were before I EVER found out on paper. We need more multiracial people not just black and white but people that looked and/or are perceived as black that are actually 6 different races talk about that experience because I personally needed to knew as a teenager it was okay to be proud and connected to all your different parts while still being a proud African American. You can be all you are regardless to rather that group claims you or not it does NOT change your DNA.
