I love you, I wanted to rewatch AOT bluray versions since season 3, and the changes to last season are justify the rewatch
It just sucks to think about the potential of how good the entire last season's animation could've been if it was animated by Wit Studio or even the A team of Mappa.
I don't think it's a studio change problem but rather a time constraint problem, mappa probably could've been at wit level if they were given more time

@@princediaz2481 it is a studio change problem tho. WIT studio made AOT to what it is before season 4. WIT also had more better animations and the theme and tone. I like mappa, but mappa just made aot theme so bland and dry in my opinion.
@@JvangLovesTurtles mappa did not make the show's "theme" bland and dry, they were just adapting the theme that the manga had, the manga also drastically changed in theme when the timeskip came around, and no it's not a studio change problem because wit literally dropped it because they thought adapting s4 content would've been incredibly daunting given the events that'll happen, pretty sure if they continued adapting s4 with what they have it would be even worse than what mappa has now, if mappa was given more time it could've had a chance to be better than wit.
It's mind boggling how so many people still do not understand that wit literally dropped s4 because they couldn't handle it, pretty sure y'all would shit on wit if they continued adapting the anime with what they can currently handle right now.
@@princediaz2481 i mean, im not bashing at you relax buddy. WIT studio would have adapted s4, but they needed more time, but from what I heard at least, but Isayama didnt want to wait, so Wit dropped it. All im saying is that I personally Mappa could’ve done better. 🤷♂️

I personally really like this change because when watching the episode for the first time I didn't really notice, but when rewatching I felt like that scene felt a little stiff (like the frames of just the ODM gear cables just looked off to me). The blu-ray change however made the scene feel more dynamic and the change in perspective feels more smooth. Only little nitpick would be that I wished they kept the shot of the Cart Titan on the wall while it's breaking just a little bit longer, like how it is in the TV version. BR ver. shows the wall break then immediately cuts to Pieck's reaction
Overall I'm very impressed with the amount of good changes they made to Part 2, and I already thought the TV ver. was pretty well done already. 20:52 While I'm fine with the change, a part of me wished they kept the TV ver. lol I thought it looked very eerie and bone chilling just seeing the flashes hidden in the steam instead of seeing the actual explosions

So many small changes that almost seem pointless. Some are very much needed but the constant changes of clothe details and plates and background...

I am surprised at just how violent this portion of the anime has been allowed to be. After the steam fest of Season 3, the amount of blood spaying out of people has a lot of shock value. It works because it really drives home how in the battle against the Jaegerists, the alliance members each have to abandon their humanity and slaughter their former comrades, many of whom were friends, in order to save humanity from Eren. It does leave me feeling a little uncomfortable, though, as it borders on glorification of violence.

I hate that they removed a lot of the shadows during paths scene. Removed a lot of the dread and cynical tone of Eren
Every single frame i see of Mappa's animation feels like something is wrong: No shadows, everyone looks the same, no sense of distance, flat colours, bad perspective shifts, ... .
Look at those shots in which Eren and Zeke were behind their father. The animation doesn't make it apparent. Adding some proper shadows would have fixed the problem.
It's not worth $200 but definitely worth it though

I really dislike how 80% of ''improvements'' are usually just a blur.
It's called depth of field and is literally done by 90% of any media such as highly produced and rated movies

@@LORDdrPepper I understand it. I just dont like it. When I watch something I want to see everything. I don't need ''help'' to focus my eyes on the main thing that is going on, on the screen. When shows have too much blur its starts to get annoying.
@@SIowpoke One of the fundamental roles of visual composition in any media is to help the viewer focus on the main thing that's going on. Emphasising and deemphasising using depth of field and light/shadow is a staple of film and animation. I can agree that too much blur can get annoying (though part of the issue might be that we're directly comparing isolated scenes without seeing the episodes in their typical context), but helping us focus on the main thing is one of the tenants of visual language.
Isayama should have given Wit Studios more time. Cause honestly despite the CGI if you watch Season 2 the animation and the ost was perfection. As to Season 4 a lot of Hit and Miss

The cgi titan fights are the problem.After Eren got the founding Titan power the 4-5 episodes after were really boring but all other episodes of season 4 with no titan fights(no cgi) were masterpiece

In the end if they (wit) adapt season 4 with short amount of time like mappa did. They will have no choice either mix 2d with 3d or go fully 3d like mappa. Stop whining

Some of the changes made to from tv to blu ray version made the blu ray version parts more blurry than the tv version but I get your point, most of these changes made the blu ray version less blurry than the tv version scenes
