On October 11, 2023, a police officer identified the suspect in a bicycle theft investigation in Kenosha, WI, who was also wanted on an active felony warrant. While on patrol, the officer happened to observe the stolen bike at a public library. Upon confronting the suspect, he made a desperate attempt to escape but the officer quickly crushed his chances, literally.

That always gets me too, but on the other hand, what are they supposed to do? Can't really intervene, but don't really need to flee.
There was once the ending to a chase and an arrest in front of where I worked once, and after some gawking, there wasn't much we could do besides just get back to work, I imagine people in these videos felt similar to how me and my coworkers felt.

To me, it looked like a couple of the adult men were standing at the ready, just in case. Staying back and out of the arrest while it appeared under control, but still watching closely in case the officer looked like he needed help. I don't see much of an issue with the crowd reaction here, while I agree that USUALLY the crowd is useless.
