  • Assistant Professor of Biology Nicole Danos, PhD, received a $1.1 million National Science Foundation CAREER award to investigate the impact of pregnancy on women's leg muscles. Her research aims to shed light on pregnancy-related musculoskeletal issues like hip dysplasia and carpal tunnel syndrome with the hope that her findings will lead to treatment strategies. Nicole Danos is passionate about addressing overlooked medical concerns for women and promoting social justice in science. She teaches courses at USD in vertebrate anatomy and hopes to inspire her students to explore the scientific process.
