I look forward to updating everyone; she really chose a fun pile of books for me to read. Mom lent me her Monica Ferris books in the beginning of 2022, and then she and my dad gave me her set on my birthday in 2023. I'm working my way through them again, and I'm enjoying them just as much this time around. ♥️

Great video. Mom did a great job. I too am 75 and have diabetes. My eyesight just can not read,the regular print or now the large print. So went kicking and screaming into ebooks. What a joy from someone who said they would never read them. I am am to read more books and my eyes are not tire. Maybe people like myself just want to hold on to those hardcovers but now I am happier and I can read more books. And being 75 I wanted to be able to read more. Had she tried ebooks? 😊

Mom did a great job and was very entertaining!❤ I laughed at your reaction when you thought you were reading all of that chunky book,lol. I love reading cookbooks too. I have way too many but still collect more. My mother in law made one for us years ago but of course the dishes never turn out like hers did.

I remember when my oldest daughter told me she liked to read cookbooks, long time ago. I thought it was odd. Well, I get it now, now that I spend much more time cooking at home. It's a thing! Some books are better for "reading" than others. I bet that one by Katie is the best ever.
I'm not a cookbook reader, that's for sure, but I've watched my mom read them for as long as I can remember. She has an amazing collection, and I'm sure she and your daughter could probably spend an entire day talking with each other about cookbooks. 🥰♥️🥰

I'm with you too Tammy on not reading anything that is about children getting hurt, or worse...i'm that way with animals too. In fact, you recently reviewed a book where a dog is abused in part of it and i had to fast forward that video! Love this video !

I've read the first Laura Childs teashop mystery book "Death by Darjeeling" and really liked it. It's my plan to complete the series ASAP, currently 27 books in that series so that will take a bit of time! It's what I call "old school cozy." I absolutely love this video. You Mom is just a smidge older than I am so I was particularly interested to see what she would recommend. I like Anne Tyler, too. I've read "Hamnet." I don't particularly like reading Shakespeare either but I thought this was an interesting read. The cookbook is certainly a treasure. Thanks for sharing.

In a recent book haul, I bought Hamnet. Now I have moved it way up on my TBR since it was recommended so highly by Ann. I'm sure I'll think of her the whole time. (She reminds me of my mom, and that was a warm feeling since I miss her so much.)
