Milwaukee Summerfest seems to be one of the biggest music festivals that nobody knows about. Really worth checking out. For starters, Summerfest is held on Milwaukee county permanent festival grounds with better ahem, facilities 😅It’s used for the three weekends of Summerfest, followed by a series of ethnic festivals for the rest of the summer and fall. Back in the day, the main stage act was part of your general admission and fun fact I was able to see Paul Simon during his Graceland tour for a dollar. The stages used to be sponsored by the major breweries in Milwaukee, so you had the Schlitz country stage, Miller, Jazz oasis, and Pabst Oldies stage, where you tended to see acts that were either on their way up or on their way down. In the case of Tina Turner in 1983 we thought we were seeing her on her way down, but turns out she was on her way up.
This was a great vid, really fun to watch. You guys going to do a review/reviews of The new Vampire Weekend and Black Keys albums? I think a ranking video of either band would be cool as well.
For me, I think I'd enjoy the DownloadXXI lineup the most. There's a lot of small print bands that I've seen absolutely shred at small venues like All Them Witches, Counterparts, Dying Fetus, GEL, Shadow of Intent, Callous Daoboys, and ZULU. Also it'd be cool to see Karnivool and Polyphia live. Plus if has my favorite band Queens of the Stone Age and it doesn't have as much garbage as the other massive metal festivals like Rockville or Aftershock. Milwaukee Metalfest, No Values, Shaky Knees, MerleFest and Cruel World also seem very fun Y'all are troopers for looking through so many lineups in a single video. Must have been very tiring reading through all them
Leaving the house IS the biggest thing. But I could do the Solid Sound Fest and if I'm going to travel, why not go all the way and travel to England to see some bands? So if the concert is a bust, at least you're in England. Most of these concert posters are terrible -- and hard to read. The Cave Man Fest was a good one. Is Black Pumas playing every festival?
I've actually never been to a festival (it's hard enough to get concerts where I live, let alone festivals) but it would have to be a pretty strong lineup for me to put on my shoes. That level of crowd is not ideal for me but then again never say never. Was still interesting to see what was out there, lots of these I hadn't heard about.
My wife and I are going to “So What?” A few of the artists are from our neck of the woods in Nashville (Maggie Miles, Arrows In Action, L0L0, etc). And my wife’s a Boys Like Girls fan. It may be an F to you guys, but we’re stoked for this event!
Some decent festival lineups, but nothing exciting. I'd still go to many of these with media credentials. New Orleans Jazz Fest is usually an A or S for me. It's the only festival I've ever paid for. Bourbon and Beyond is only one I'd pay for if I didn't get credentials. Got credentialed in 2018 - its solid. Really like that festival and the lineup is usually good. Pitchfork looked pretty good. Didn't see you guys do Hangout Festival. Thats been good in the past. It's eh this year.
Y'all need competing tier lists. Maybe not for the fun stuff like "dumbest album covers" but lists of bands at festivals elicits fighting words. Not a whole lot here for me. r/progmetal stuff is barely represented.
You'd prefer to go see Backstreet Boys, TLC, Janet Jakson, Alicia Keys, Lil Waye and Nelly Furtado then Slayer, Pantera, Iron Maiden, Anthrax and Judas Priest or The Zombies, Alan Parsons, Starship, Uriah Heep, Vanilla Fudge, Glenn Hughes and Rare Earth? Wow!!!

I add the two best music festivals in Spain: Primavera Sound in Barcelona would go to the A tier and Mad Cool in Madrid to the B tier. Cheers!

Great video! I completely forgot about a lot of these artists even though I used to like them. Two Door Cinema Club and Maggie Rodgers are examples.

The Solid Sound Festival looks to be indeed solid. Check out a rare performance by Autumn Defense a Wilco side project.
