- This is my smoked Aussie sausage rolls recipe.
Have you ever wanted to cook a sausage roll on the BBQ? Well, now you can! This recipe is so easy and tastes so good. It's Australian food at its best.
In this video will show you how to make a tasty, easy sausage rolls with an Australian twist. Weber BBQs are the best way to cook outdoors and this recipe is quick, simple and delicious. You'll never need to go on another Aussie food hunt again, because these tasty Aussie sausage rolls are cooked in a Weber BBQ and you can now make them in your own backyard.
Ingredients:
1 tablespoon of olive oil
100 grams of bacon (diced)
500 grams of pork sausages (casings removed)
1 small carrot (peeled & grated)
1 small brown onion (grated)
⅓ cup of panko breadcrumbs
2 eggs
2 cloves of garlic (chopped)
¼ teaspoon of black pepper
⅓ cup of Mozzarella cheese (grated)
2 tablespoons of Vegemite (room temp)
2 sheets of puff pastry (cut in half)
Tomato sauce for serving

Chefs knife
57cm (22”) Weber Kettle
Chimney Starter
Charcoal Baskets
Cooling rack
Feeds: 4
Preparation Time: 20 minutes
Cook Time: 30 minutes

Sausage rolls have been constructed and in the fridge. The meat and ingredients smelt really good in the bowl. Almost wanted to taste it!

I've never tried vegemite, it's not an ingredient readily available in the northeastern united states. In fact I've never seen it in any grocery store here. Ppl in my area are not what ya'd call food adventurous. There are zero ethnic food markets in my town of roughly 50k ppl🙄 That's pretty sad.
That said those rolls look so good, I'd try them. I trust your cooking, you've made so many good looking dishes since I've been watching. I don't think I could go wrong.👍🏼🍻
Hey Salty Crow, cheers mate for the super kind words. It is a pity you cannot get any Vegemite, just substitute it for a teaspoon of salt, it effectively is giving the recipe its salt kick 🍻

Smoldering wood is acrid
Yeah in large doses porleg. Not sure if you realise I'm operating the camera on a tripod, so I move it, film a bit and move it again. So I lift the lid, check the temp, the oxygen boost makes the wood smoulder for a minute or two and then settles again. So it is minimal and doesn't affect the taste one little bit. 🍻
