Br’er rabbit’s ghost is still holding on tight 😂😂😂
It had the operation but it still identifies as Splash Mountain 😂
Iger's motto: if it ain't broke, break it.
The ramifications of this are deeper than Disney realizes. If there ever was a time where perfection was required it was this endeavor. Splash, one of three mountains in the greatest theme park in history was not only destroyed but literally mechanically destroyed. They better figure this out tomorrow.
More like yesterday.
I watch so many Disneyland specials from the past and you see how amazing the and magical the parks were, especially about ten years in from opening. Huge parades, musical entertainment around every corner, shootouts at the saloons. Makes me sad because I started going in the 60s. Don't go anymore. 😢
There is no one at Disney who can fix it. 😒
According to an expert on animatronics, the Tiana and Louis animatronics are electromagnetic models and react to water like kryptonite. With that said, feel free to give them a nice splash to add insult to injury!😂
The humidity in Florida is going to damage those too
This is all too stupid to be stupid. Somebody planned this...
To quote Hall and Oates:
"Oh no there they go!"
"Watch out people, they'll shock you up!"
"Oh no there they go!"
"They're people shockers!"
Why would you put animatronics that act negatively to water on a water ride, that’s just asking for problems
@@jeffreymodesitt3345Karma is a…which serves Disney right for the rhetoric they’ve been pushing
You do not add tech to older tech without doing a massive overhaul of the old tech to make sure everything works first and then bring in the new tech. Instead, they just removed and replaced but ever bothered to fix or update anything that was needed first. This was doomed from the start.
Before they even got to this point they should have listened to the saying, “If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it.”
Yup from what even a cast member said, Disney was too cheap to actually do the badly needed maintenance on the ride system. Not to mention they were trying to rush things to get the ride open on “juneteenth”.
Most likely Disney doesn’t care too much because they know the Disney adults will eat it up and come in droves to see it regardless of quality.
But were the engineers the right rainbow gender race inclusion diversity.
Remember! Diversity is our strength! 😂
The original splash mountain was filled with problems when it was being built. Disneyland had to ask Knott's Berry Farm for help.
They should've just left Splash Mountain alone, and built a bayou Tiana ride somewhere else. People got offended by it? Then don't go and ride it.
Even if 2020 didn't happen I feel like disney still would have rethemed splash to some modern ip on a shoe string budget they just got the benefit of making twitter happy .. the people who will never pay money to visit the parks
Twitter ruined everything
The problem is, racism isn’t good, but erasing it from the world isn’t going to help us, things from the past will help us not to trace over mistakes we made.
This is sad. Tiana is one of Disney’s best “princess” characters (mature, poised, strong work ethic, entrepreneurial, good role model for girls) and her movie absolutely deserved better representation than this. IMO a Princess and the Frog ride was a great idea, but it should have been a “book report” ride based on the movie.
People have yet to see how she is treated in the TV show, but most like CZcams will ignore any problems it has after the initial full trailer comes out. Like how Primos keeps getting brought up due to an early issue with the theme song but as soon as that comes out people will likely forget it even exists.
OH btw there is a Lorcana card where Tiana is a queen on a throne, they are even making sleeves of it.
I would have find a way to incorporate the restaurant theme.
Bingo. Tiana deserves way better than being a pawn in iconoclasm.
@@ironvlogger9712
A new restaurant featuring Cajun quisine would have been a nice touch. But _NO,_ we can no longer have nice things...
I went yesterday. Group 4, was in line at 10 am but it broke down at 10:18 until 1pm. It was not worth the wait
Both splash mountain and Tiana deserves so much better!!

@@TerryKitts Well it already proved it can't be done. And they were never meant to replace the original in the first place.
@NickyHelp
It totally could have been done,
The current imagineers do not have the skills or imagination to do so. If the ride had a real story (as in a conflict & resolution) it would be entertaining (see dinosaur in animal kingdom). If they looked towards pneumatic power vs electrical motor power, it would be more reliable animatronic wise. Yes that would make smooth movement harder, but it wouldn't corrode or short out constantly.

The first entry (with the same title) used to have a dramatic reading on CZcams by MrCreepypasta, but for some reason the author asked him to take it down. It's been a while, but I recall the author had a dedicated website for the story text. I'd just recommend searching for "Abandoned by Disney creepypasta," the other entries shouldn't be too hard to find from there.
If this attraction isn't working in a month, then it is kinda embarresing. If this is still broken in a year, then Disney has to tear everything down.
And put the original back where it belongs which will satisfy the real customers, I might add.
Any one person who breaks a thing to make a thing has long left the path of wisdom
“If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it.”
Iconoclasm is a terrible sin.

Builders will break ground to build things - but if they're doing it to honestly provide something better than an empty field? You can generally expect good things. If they're doing it just to get rid of the field? don't expect much from what they create.
Same applies here - what motivation did they have to tear down the one to build up the other?
Disneylands version is going to straight up murder Tiana's, its pretty humid, the ride goes too fast for any dialogue to happen, and their splashes from each drop are very huge compared with disney worlds, those single logs are very notorious for splashing huge amounts of water, and those animatronics arent going to survive in there.
People say this ride was made for disneyland, but disney worlds is slower paced and the ride is still struggling to work.
Plus with 103 animatronics gone its going to make the dead space more noticeable in disneyland
When people say it was made for Disneyland, they are probably only thinking of the theming and not the layout, pacing, structure, etc.
But it doesn’t work with either of them imo. This was just a bad idea.
DEI is killing Disney one hire at a time. Not to mention their racism is ripe for being sued!
It's beautiful. I hope they double down..
They should just go all the way and make a replacement ride "inspired" by Jenifer Lewis's deranged on-air rant, complete with animatronic soldiers with hammers smashing the Constitution.
that's exactly the problem. anyone who has ever worked for a manager who is ignorant/ incompetent understands. it doesn't work. I guarantee a lot of talented engineers and mechanics left out of frustration.

Twice in 2021 and twice in 2023. All four times it was in Disney Studios Mickeys runaway railway. We had to walkout
Yes. Everyone and everything is getting old.
@@barnabasthecat7329 Mickeys runaway railway actually is brand new...
This reminds me of Disneyland's Rocket Rods. They ended the people mover ride so they could have the Rocket Rods, but used the same track whose turns weren't wide enough for the faster cars. It kept breaking down so much they shut the ride down completely.
I rode that ride and it was boring. The people mover had so many views and when you went thru the buildings at Disneyland you saw really cool things.
It's not that the turns weren't wide enough. The original track was flat. The Rocket Rods needed banked turns. So the cars had to break a lot before the turns and the track started to crack.

Big Bob and his bobble-heads (the board) panic'd when someone pointed out that Splash Mountain had the words "the South" associated with it. So they slapped the latest princess-totem on it, let the actual hardware molder (you know, the engines, the pumps, the actual "splash" parts) for 18 months. What could go wrong? Big Bob ordered it, so let it be written so let it be done.

Hey Disney!!!!! Wise up and shut down that piece of crap ride that no one asked for. After running for a couple weeks with no break downs, then open it back up. However, it will never be as great as Splash Mountain
Cover it over with tarps and repurpose it as an Alien nerf arena.

i bet by the time they do fix this ride... epic universe will be open and taking away all the guests
I’d love to get a former Imagineer’s perspective on how they managed to break this ride so badly with just a reskin
Not a former imagineer myself but I have one clue: For some UNGODLY reason they decided to change the old, mechanical animatronics for a new style ELECTROMAGNETIC kit. Now, yes, the old ones are more rigid, slower, and on the long run need replacing more often due to increased wear and tear. But see, here's the issue with the new ones... Properly sealing the circuitry is incredibly costly so they didn't do that. Which means they are extremely prone to failure and are a fire hazard if exposed to water or even just high humidity. And they put those on the side of an attraction that, in case the name isn't obvious, has a tendency to SPLASH WATER around it.
I'm sure there's more issues but I don't think you need to be an imagineer to figure why THAT was an abhorrent idea.
@@thespanishinquisition4078 To compound this: The old animatronics ran on a continuous loop. They never stopped moving while the ride was open. The new versions can't do that. The motors and servos have to "rest" to keep from overheating, so their action is triggered to start when a log moves to a position to view them, and they stop after 1 cycle until the next log triggers them. But that means you need to add position sensors for the logs to trigger events, and whether you use optical, magnetic, visual, or other means to do that, all of them suffer problems in high humidity, water, and mold. A video sensor doesn't "vid" well when the lens fogs up or gets covered in black slime, etc. So the animation trigger events are glitching too. And that isn't helping the high-precision robotic features of the animitronics that rely on them..
@@thespanishinquisition4078 Electromagnetic is not new, it's very OLD, and it's ROUGH (on/off, click/clack, usefull only to flip up and down an eyebrow....so to say...) ... What is used nowadays is : electric micro linear actuators. That is completely different, then electromagnetic.
@@vrghr When 'on track' (Short distance between vehicle and sensor) then an Rfid system is most reliable. It can be completely dirty and still function well, no problem. Only problem occurs when that distance varies too much.
@@Wig4 Agreed! RFID is certainly one of the more reliable sensing methods. But even it can be subject to glitches if poorly implemented. For example, heating/cooling can cause distances to vary due to expansion/contraction. if the sensor was mounted near the critical threshold then heating might move it out of range, and if mounted too close, cooling can cause it to actually impact the ride vehicle. Given the current state of Disney's engineering oversights, would not put either one beyond the range of possibility.
If all the talented Imagineers hadn't quit disney and gone to Universal Parks it might work.
Bring back Splash! 💦 ⛰️
This would be the best for the ride, but it will never happen because of the egos of the people in leadership.
Splash is not closed in the US.

After everything that's happened and everything we know now about the construction of this ride, I'll be surprised if they ever get this thing running the way it's supposed to. They need to sink another fortune into refurbishing a ride that's not even 6 months old.
I haven't got a lot of faith in them. They obviously have no idea what they're doing.
Ohhhhhhh....I GET IT NOW!!!! They couldn't make the ride great because that would be too complicated for the skills of this team. They had to keep it as simple as possible because they weren't qualified to work on this ride. Now this simple boring ride makes sense but even with keeping it as bare bones, it still doesn't work. Got it. Hey Disney - can you please pay for the real imagineers to return? Please get the creative and skilled team back from Universal or they are going to eat your lunch.

They see themselves as WHIZZKIDS, "knowing all about the lastest techs"..., but knowing nothing at all about long term durability, and they do not have any moral concept (yet) about responsibilities. The excutives are NOT making "all" the decisions (perhaps they should, but don't...) because in any of those high-tech debates, the Whizz-Kids are just making those executives' heads crazy with (often fake) promises. (I see this on every level in daily tech life... OLD engineers, can tell you right away about all failures they met during their carreer. the polt of this ride is a mess, nothing was coherently thought out and thought thru. You're not realyl sure why you're on this 'adventure to begin with. There's so much randomness and questionable BS going on- guests are confused. You shouldn't confuse your audience if you want to tell a story and invlove them in your theme park ride....
Humidity, water, heat, and complex electronics don’t mix.
wow- wow if only therer were a way to TEST this kind of thing in a factory soemwhere before just boxing it up and shipping it off... huh. :)
@@eclipsehorse8693 If only they had someone with the experience and knowledge to install some contingencies and redundancies in the event something like this happens. But apparently, experience is problematic
@@fishjones4618 yeah Disney oesn't have time for silly things like experience- they have DEI checkboxes to cover so they look good in front of Blackrock
🔥: Elements don’t mix 🤧
💧: 😭😭😭😭😭😭🥶🥶🥶😨😨😨
Dr.F had the last laugh.
OMG I laughed so hard when Pro said, "if we do put a light on it, it will never be fixed" when, when has Woke Disney ever tried to fix anything? Disney's fixes just makes things worse. It's one double down after another, again and again and again, what is Disney on, the 40th double down. Try again Pro, that one almost caused me to fall off my chair I was laughing so hard.
Hey, at least the okra are still swaying back and forth!
😂
I kept expecting The Unknown to show up during the ride.
Buy-You adventure: just a lecture about how horrible it was to be enslaved. Not much equipment to break. It’s sure to be popular!
I think the universe is trying to tell the Magic Kingdom something: if it ain’t broke, don’t fix it.
But they’re not worried about Epic Universe 😂😂🤣🤣🤣
naw, they're not, the Tiana bus wrap will save them! lolz!!!!
Another slap in Walts face and legacy! Can't believe how bad things are getting at the parks and in the movies.
Tiana’s Bayou Adventure is the new Rocket Rods
VooDoo curse!
Maybe they should try using the Frontier cheatcode.
Walt Disney's Ghost hates this as well, he keeps tripping the sensors... you can hear Walt's voice saying "Put it back the way it was! "
We are hot in California as well with humidity during summer. Anaheim gets hot and uncomfortable. Just waiting for the wreck here too.
I do disagree with the idea of triggering show scenes based on a ride vehicle entering a show scene.
It should be a friggin no brainer they there’s a significant amount of randomness and inconsistency when it comes to water rides.
There’s decades of experience with both Splash, Pirates & Small World across 4 themes parks.
If they *wanted* to go ahead, they could have easily used RFID to trigger the show scenes. Not to mention that installing RFID tags & sensors on all of the logs provides a clear upgrade path for the ride system which does rely on the existing sensors.
(I mentioned Rfid as reliable as well)
Remember when Test Track opened? It took a year to work the bugs out. Difference is Splash didn’t need replacement.
Disney quality across the board has gone away. The blank theming at the resorts, the lack of magic in the new movies (yup, I said it), the removing of historical rides and replacing them with garbage!!! Over it !!!! And don't even get me started on Genie+ and DAS!!!!!!!! OMG!!!!! FAILURE!!!!!!!
Hopefully it will get the same treatment as Enchanted Tiki Room Under New Management, thus return Splash Mountain with the characters speaking proper southern from Alabama to Tennessee if we're talking about a ride set in Frontierland.
Dr.Facillier and Brer Rabbit teamed up to deliver the world’s best form of karma.
DL and WDW are crumbling into neglect and oblivion thanks to the hubris and incompetence of disney corporate.
All the merch shows water running down the flume with big splashes, but they're not running any water with the actual ride
water's expensive! Disney needs that money to film a second season of 'the Acolyte!" lolz
We do not have hills and mountains in the Bayou .
this would have worked out so so mubvch better as a flaot thru ride like the Grand Fiesta Tour in Epcot Mexico, ending in a proper NO style sit down restaurant
Went from rooting for Disney to rooting for Disney to fail under Igar. Sad they have that man in charge.
They should really lower ticket prices when they can’t offer a full park experience like when a ride is down either because it’s not working or being refurbished for months. If things are working and open then charge full price.
It's a free for all for bribes and kickbacks at Disney. Every thing is for sale at Disney and this is just the latest example of what happens to a company when your executives are focused on getting their kickback or bribes.
Even the name doesn't fit. It's not an "adventure". Nothing happens.
What's funny to me is that a lot of these people spout stuff like "being unique" or "different from the rest" are sanitizing it all and killing the uniqueness of these rides/IPs.
Wouldnt be surprised if they pulled a Top Thrill 2, and just shut it down for a long time
and blame all the problems on poly wheels on the ride vehicles not being compatable with the ride :)
Music to my ears!!! If we're blessed, in the future, kids won't know what Disney is..
Shut up
Good luck with that cuz that's never going to happen
This is the universe trying to tell Disney that Splash Mountain should have never been destroyed
This has a whole new meaning of go woke get broke.
Disneys ghost is disgusted and has cursed the ride.
"Tiana's Bayou Evacuation"?
more like... "Tiana's Bowel Evacuation" come along for the ride as Tiana really has to poop, and she needs your help to find just the right spot in the bayou! :)
