    Many decades ago, turntable manufacturers found that it was a good idea, when making a belt or idler wheel drive turntable, to put the motor on the other side of the plinth, as far away from the tonearm pivot and the stylus as possible, in order to reduce noise pickup. Someone at Crosley didn't get that memo.

    Wow, that colour is gorgeous! I've never normally been a fan of non black or white turntables, but this is really nice. It looks almost like an Apple metal colour, so maybe that's why I like it 🤣 I continue to love watching your reviews! Hope you're feeling better!

    I'm glad you switched to the Enoch Light album, I was unable to form an opinion about the sound quality, when you were playing the other album.
    I love those albums, I am glad you continue to use them in your videos. As your channel keeps growing, that's turned into one of your signature moves- You made Enoch Light cool for a new generation. That's pretty amazing. ( You probably already know about the pop group he intoduced, right? The Free Design, and their extremely catch hit "Kites Are Fun". )
    Thanks for your excellent content.

    First let me say thanks for turning me on to Enoch Light. Just found a pristine copy of his 1971 4 Channal album at a thrift store for 99 cents! As for the Crosley, it's not bad for the price point. The color is super 80s and that's a great sounding cartridge. Crosley is stepping it up. My everyday TT right now is a Retrolife HQ-KZ006 with an AT-95e cartridge.

  • @vwestlife
    @vwestlife Před 2 měsíci +2

    The AT95E cartridge is a nice touch. I just wish it had 78 RPM.

    looks good, the only silver one that fits to my harman/kardon was the Denon 300F, hope more silver options come out for those vintage type systems to pair it with. Only the dust cover should have been clear or transparent smiked black and not blue, kinda does not match with the silver too well, but glad the silver color gets some traction, because to me it shines much more and gives a better feel and look over the all black standard boring ones.

    Those Crosley mats look substantial enough, but definitely put one of your gorgeous acrylic mats from Takmork on there. I have Takmork's blue acrylic mat on the LP60X and it looks stunning. Such bass, static, stylus contact improvement and surface noise reduction also. Could I ever see myself going back to the felt that came with the 60X? Over my dead body.

    Cool Crosley C100BT turntable, Record-ology.
    I also recently became aware of a Retekess turntable; the Retekess TR639 belt-drive turntable which plays at record speeds of 33.3 rpm and 45 rpm only (no 78 rpm speed option) with an Audio-Technica AT-3600 cartridge. It also has Bluetooth connectivity.
    I'd look forward to you reviewing that model some time in the future (if available) and the price is very reasonable too at $131.99 in Canada, so I imagine that the price will be closer to $100 in America. :)

    That,s a much better Crosley turntable and a beauty !!

  • @vfequiznights340
    @vfequiznights340 Před 2 měsíci

    It's aesthetically pleasing, but I'm not sure I'm sold on it. The first record you played sounded quite tinny and had what sounded like distortion/vibrating on the higher end. Don't know if that was the quality of the pressing, the turntable itself, the bluetooth, or a bit of all combined with youtube compression. The second LP from the direct feed sounded much better and warmer.
    First comment from me on your channel, although I have been watching for a few years and have learned a lot from you :)
    Despite not being sold on this, it's a nice video as always! Thanks!

      I am hesitant to use the vinyl moon discs sometimes because the music often has so many effect applied - that's why I also put on the Enoch Light.

    The platter is metal and will ring and create noise. It needs dampening on the inside. Most people will not hear the noise, but if dampened will then hear the difference and improvement.

    • @toanduong
      @toanduong Před 28 dny

      The rubber mat damp the ringing quite effectively. The OCD vynil people can go nut over it but they probably don't buy low cost turntable 😂

    The pitch at zero, the strobe should be steady, so can't be calibrated properly. U gets what u pay for I spose, but ok if its someone's first deck 👍

    I wonder if they adjust those speed pots in the factory using voltage readings instead of an actual strobe. The reason I wonder is because I have a Numark TTUSB with the same slider, and I have to adjust it slightly off center to get perfect speed. If they are using voltage readings to determine speed, this could explain why many of these turntables run slightly fast, regardless of brand and model. I also had the LP60, and the speed was exactly off by the same percentage as the Numark.
