    Beautiful process. This has answered some questions I had with painting forest with watercolor. It is easier to paint from light to dark with watercolor. And it is naturally easier to paint from back to front. But there's a bug in this, how do we paint a scene, in which has darker background and lighter fore ground? I have been thinking about this for sometime. For watercolor, how do we paint a scene with darker background? Do we put on light colors for fore-ground first, and then add in dark colors, and carefully fill them in their arbitrary shapes? Since the darker area shown through fore ground objects are arbitrary. Would love some insights in this, thanks in advance !

    • @untamed_little_wolf
      @untamed_little_wolf  Před 5 lety +10

      yes it's always from light to dark in watercolor.
      for a darker background, you can paint the fore ground and then fill in the background in arbitrary shapes - that's the traditional way and it leads to great result, just need a lot of patience.
      or you can use masking fluid - paint the fore ground, mask the area you wanna keep, then paint the darker background over it - it's faster but the result is not as natural as the first method.

    I am using a Brustro Artists' Watercolour Paper 300 GSM A3 -25% cotton and the problem i am facing is that the colour even after I wet the paper does not spread. What am I doing wrong?. this leads to marks of brush strokes on the paper which obviously is not looking good.
