  • I was having to try very hard not to fall down the mountain, so some of the video quality is pretty bad and I couldn't get as much footage as I would have liked....

    One of my favorite things to do after it rains is walk through the cornfield in my bare feet and feel the mud ooze between my toes, especially when it's summer and hot outside

    I'm not a barefoot person. It made my nerves tingle watching you walk that trail barefoot. When I was a kid I hurt my feet a few times so I always wanted to wear boots or shoes. Water features, like beautiful waterfalls. Where would we be without water? Living on Mars must be a trip. Good for you to be brave enough to go barefoot, a good grounding with mother earth. Cheers!

    Those were some muddy toes at 6:40! This seemed like a pretty difficult hike. I think our feet have better traction on dryer surfaces, but you handled it well, and on top of that it was fairly cold. Thanks for making these videos and stay safe out there.

    • @upwardfalling
      @upwardfalling  Před 2 lety +2

      I had absolutely no traction! I was taking it very slowly and being super careful, I really didn't want to have to get back in my car covered in mud! I love the mud though(:

      Yeah, muddy feet are fine, but muddy clothes are a problem. I’ve only fallen one time and that was on a steep creek bank. You seem to stay pretty clean in the videos I’ve watched.

      @@DC-nb5du I don't recall ever falling in the mud before...it would probably be pretty funny but very messy!

    Steep and muddy is obviously a tricky situation but, you made it. My guess is muddy feet are easier to clean than muddy shoes.

    • @upwardfalling
      @upwardfalling  Před 2 lety +1

      Much easier to clean! And it was so slick I'm not sure shoes would have even helped much...

    This is when a lot of beginner barefooters make a big mistake if they get that much mud on their feet. They right away run to a place to wipe off their feet quite often injuring their feet by cutting them open on something sharp they didn't see. When your feet get covered like this, the best option is to just keep going and either let it fall off or come off on it's own. Or wait until you find a place to wash it off. It's better to keep walking with whatever is stuck all over your feet than to cut your foot open on something you didn't see which could lead to even bigger problems which could lead to even losing your foot if it was to get infected bad enough.

    The soles of your feet have developed very well over the period of time. That's what regular barefooting has done to your feet and soles . Barefooting helps to strengthen the joints and bones if your feet. Your" never say die " attitude has made you a very successful barefooter. Pls don't restrict barefooting to videos, live barefoot in your day to day life and see/feel what good it does to you. Since you already have strong soles,it will not be a challenge at all. Get rid of all forms of footwear and adopt barefoot lifestyle.
    Cheers !!!
