For a real challenge, try the Disney Dreams Collection by Thomas Kincade. You really get to use all the lessons about shading and highlightings with complementary colors that you learn about in the Skill share classes on colored pencil art.
Wow! What a fantastic recovery. The little details in the brickwork, the sky and shadows propelled the bland look to something magnificent!

Hi Rachel , I would love for you to do a tutorial in one of Tomislav Tomic books . Villan San or Dromenvanger . I fell in LOVE with his line art , beautiful but now I want to gain confidence to color in it . Lots of intricate detail and double spreads . Kind of like when you said How do eat an elephant, one bite at a time . ❤️
Another great tutorial, Rachel, thank you. I am really loving Colorit coloring books. I started with Dogs and liked it so much I also got myself Colors of Nature and Mythical and Fantasy. I love the images and the paper is nice too. I also love the top-bound spiral, left hand friendly and no spine. Enjoy :)
I think I might be able to start adding texture now! The Mouse Guard Coloring Book is great fun, the paper is high quality, the illustrations are, of course, wonderful - you can't go wrong.
Really appreciated the video, it's helpful and to-the point. For coloring books -- while I enjoy my books by Johanna Basford, Daria Song, Kinuko Craft and Hannah Karlzon, for a change of pace (or page), I picked up Beauty of Horror by Alan Robert.

Coloring books I wish you would get and color in, in a color along, or a tutorial, or anything: “Blue Willow - A Coloring Book Story” by Patty Vadalia. And “Rainforest Escape” by Jade Gideon.
I love what you did here and that you didn't give up, it's so motivating! The walls and the stone arch are my favorite parts, so pretty! ^^
I love the Coloring Heaven magazines. I can find them usually at Barnes and Noble. The new Hanna Lynn one should be showing up soon. Colored pencils work well in these magazines.
I have been wanting to color fairies. I have a few on my wish list. I am thinking the first I will order is Fairies in Dreamland.

WOW..love It!!! I am very new to all this and I keep watching videos, but scared to really get my feet wet with my supplies. Nothing like buying books and pencils and not using them. Your videos are a lot of motivation....m a y b e...I will sign up for the Skillshare.....lol...that would probably do the trick. Anyway. Thank you for sharing your talent and creative genius with me. Hi Rachel! First, I'd like to thank you for your tutorials. Since I'm new at coloring, I'm finding that they are so valuable in my learning process. It's amazing what can be done with a pencil!
About one month in, I discovered Edward Gorey and treated myself to a coloring book featuring his drawings. He had a unique sense of humor and it shows in his work. I'd like to recommend it to you and if you'd like to see it first, there are a few flip throughs right here on youtube. Something different!

I loved this. You have such a relaxing voice :) the new Hanna Karlzon book ‘Spirit Animals’ has just come out and its amazing! Also you should check out Chaki Ida - her style is very similar to Eriy from Romantic Country so you’d love her. Chaki’s books (My Colorful Town, My Dream Room) are a little tricky to get and a tad expensive but well worth it.
I just got the third book last week or so. I’m getting in a coloring rut. I think I’m going to take a break for a couple days
Hi Rachel, I loved your ideas. Stone walls are just an invitation to improvisation, aren't they? I always have a tendency to leave my shadows to the last minute and then I find my paper has run out of tooth and end up using felt tip pens to make it darker. As far as recommendations go, I have just ordered myself a copy of Olivia Whitworth's Dreamweaver Colouring Book, it looks like it will be fun!

Wow, it really turned into a French Grey kind of day. Love the lines on the buildings. That made a world of difference. For scenic moods I’m drawn to Johanna Basford (Ivy and the Inky Butterfly or Lost Ocean). For whimsical times, Misfits by WhiteStag. For realism and portraiture I’ve been rotating between Circle Portraits by Laura Rafferty and Mysteria by Anastasia Elly Koldareva.
Hi Rachel! This turned out lovely! As with regards to colouring books, maybe you would consider taking a look into Sagolikt by Emelie Lidehall Oberg. It is such a fun and cute book. I am also currently into Hannah Lynn mode as well =)
I recommend "Everything's Shiny" Serenity Firefly class adult coloring book by Dark Horse publishing, it has multiple ilistrators . And anything by Kerby Rosanes i do like Tribal Animals by ArtZone too. If you're still looking! Have a great day!

Hankins, Daria Song, Annie Stegg Gerard, Tomislav Tomic, Mariola Budek, Gugeli, and Dea Lenihan.
Ah...realism....I guess I didn't realize that area was one that you struggle with. For me, personally, I struggle with "doodles" or other things that don't really exist, for that very reason....they are NOT real and so I struggle with knowing what to do with them. So, for that reason you will never see any of the "Morphobia" (spelling) type coloring books in my stash. I would be completely loss on what to do with them. My best coloring is when flowers and leaves are involved, especially if they are real because then I have at least a basis on what to do with them. By the way, Rachel this turned out looking great!
B U T FUL! Glad you went back in. I picture the path away from the house toward the trees as being a dark path. What do you think?

I love all the added textures, but its not a place I would want to live, you haven’t done anything more colorful, brighter, all your pages are the same. every video I think 💭 is this the one time she is going to bring out the color 💭 please more layers, and more color!
I also kept waiting for more color and vibrancy. The houses were brick and could have had reds in them. The shutters in that village would be painted instead of left bare wood. There was no shadow in the arch, and there wasnt enough rounding of the corners in the blocks of stone in the wall to give it more of a worn and aged look. The moss was a good idea, but there could also have been cracks for texture and realism. The winding trail needed to be darker and more small stones to provide the correct perspective.
Gail Williams absolutely, we just have to keep after her, lol, if we nag her long enough maybe she will get the nerve, even if it’s one color at a time.
Hi Rachel, I have been a subscriber for a long time and really enjoy your videos. My recommendation for a new book would be Fantastic Zoo by Kameichidou which you can by on Amazon. It has lovely illustrations that are fairly quick to do and so enjoyable. I have a flip through on my channel of it if you are interested. Hope this helps! Imogen :)

I recommend coloring in a book that does not have different pictures side to side. It's too distracting and unharmonious.
