Something overlooked by fans but crucial to this world is the big personalities of the professors. This team nailed it. If they were bland it would feel like something is missing

Totally agree. The professors have very high production voice acting, and their characters feel so real and authentic. That's one of the things I was most impressed with, they kept it very "Harry Potter" esque.
Agree charms guy is immediately a professor i would imagine at hogwarts its a class i would be excited to go to even if it wasnt a magical subject

I'm sure there's a run button; they usually don't run in gameplay reveals to keep the motion blur to minimum and visuals smooth, so you can see all the details.

Just to clarify Merlin in the Wizarding world universe and him attending Hogwarts has already previously been established and is canon before this game was created so that isn’t new to the game ☺️
You're not forced to walk. They're showing things so they're not gonna run.

I hope it’s not auto run though, I like being able to walk by default and then run when needed. It’s adds to my immersion, but that’s just me.
@@Daltwan_Kenobi i think its going to be like in skyrim where if you only push slightly forward on the joystick you walk, but if you push all the way forward you run.

I'm not even a Harry Potter fan and I'm super excited for this game. I was always kinda curious about the world of HP, just not about the HP story itself. (I saw like 3 movies I think)

@Bully Maguire I'm saying that they need to watch all of them, not just 3. You don't watch something like Harry Potter and not watch them all. Same as LOTR and such. You don't quit in the first movie unless you have zero interest in them. but they watched 3 so you kinda need to watch them all at that point. Also in order.
I still recomment to watch the movies, for knowledge purposes.
The slow walking is fairly common in a lot of Gameplay Trailers, it usually doesn't mean you won't be able to run when you play yourself so I wouldn't worry too much about it.
Anyway I think the game looks great, I'm really looking forward to this!
Can we all take a moment to appreciate just how good the mo-cap in this game is.

This feels like the definitive Harry Potter experience
This game is going to be insane. I also don't mind that they didn't add in any quidditch, but I mean riding on a broom wherever you want makes up for that. I'm sure if they wanted to, they could add a dlc or update with quidditch. There is so many more things that they could add to make the game playable for so long. They could add new professors, side missions, spells, beasts, being able to play missions co-op or with friends in the future would be super fun. I hope they add in lots of choices to dialogue, and let you choose what you want to say, instead of just cutscenes. But overall this is blessed lol
They never said there won't be any quidditch, keep in mind that this is the first patch of gameplay that they ever showed. They showed a shitton of things in 15 minutes, but that doesnt mean they showed everything. I think there'll be quidditch in it

@@thiagocarvalho8630 I can personally see quidditch being a thing I’m not gonna lie, it seems like they’ve thought of everything and why would quidditch not be right up there. It also looks like the lady on the broom earlier in the trailer is about take part in a match so….. 👍 ps. You can also see the quidditch ground behind her in that shot.
The Goblin Rebellion is cannon. It is in the books.
Definitely getting this day 1 on PS5 after seeing the gameplay. It blew my mind.
I think the walking is just because it's the gameplay trailer and they want to show it off. Pretty sure it's so open-world that we NEED to have a run button.
Merlin was a Hogwart's student in Harry Potter canon, he was actually a Slytherin.
As this is in the late 1800s, depending how late, we might meet a 11-18yo Albus Dumbledore (he was born 1881) and I'm excited for that.
This is the game I've been waiting for all my life honestly, while I loved the HP books and movies, loved the story and characters, it was always the world I loved most than Harry's story, I wanted to be part of the world, and this feels like it might finally be it.
Dumbledore would be a first year during the MC's 7th year so maybe
@@XS-NRG it depends, the game said late 1800s but they haven't said an exact year have they? Bcs in 1892 Albus would be a 1st year that very well could be the MC's 5th year (unless they've given us the exact year then you're right)
@@jimjimcherie yeah sorry I don't know the exact timestamp but when they show the newspaper mentioning the potential goblin rebellion it says September 1890.
So assuming we don't, ya know, die by the end of the game we'll be 7th years when he shows up.

not really a harry potter fan.. even though i have seen all the movies but the game play music and graphics looks fantastic and the game looks like a lot of fun :)
If you like densely-packed, smaller map games, I’d strongly recommend the Yakuza series and Persona 5. Very small maps, but dense AF!
If you ever get the time, definitely give those a try! 👍

At 13:03 in slow mo I personally read our character (the player's) lips say "enough lies" when speaking to Victor Rookwood the dark wizard in Hogsmead. (As seen in the game play trailer)
Plus 1st years have a lot of restrictions. Like places, they can't go to Hogsmeade or take certain classes.

I'm pretty sure I can confirm the game Jaby's friend is referring to is Elden Ring. That's an accurate description.
I wonder if they will have the sword of Gryffindor being as how it was made by goblins and they believe its rightfully there's as Goblins believe if they make something for someone they get it back when that person is no longer alive. instead the sword was passed onto other wizards enraging the early Goblins. Side mission for a Gryffindor player?

They just filmed walking slowly in other scenes for the sake of being cinematic, so that we can better enjoy the scenery.

The walking parts i think it was the man that was playing for cinematic view or RP experience for the trailer. Im sure you can run in these parts pal hahaha
Yeah walking is just more realistic and cinematic. No one is running full speed through the hallways for no reason. I am sure we can run in game

according to the gameplay overwiev thingy they did it seems like there are gonna be A LOT of fast travel points in this game
On Breath Of The Wild you can fast travel to Towers you discovered or unlocked and you can Glide most Places or Ride a Horse

Historically and in current time harry potter lore a lot of children are home-schooled and don't go to an actual school, so it does make sense, that someone could enter the school at a later year.

@@Fablemaner What i think they're gonna do, is they have the sorting hat pick a house for you but ultimately you make the decision in the end just so you can have multiple runs with all the different houses

They confirmed that you will be able to pick your house, not that you have to. It is very possible that they have multiple different options. In a game that is designed to be completely customizable why not give the players options on how they want to be sorted. Like taking a short quiz, or just choosing what house you want.

So the game is simply taking that as canon.
Even if it changes what we know in the books, it's ALREADY CONFIRMED to be in Hogsmede.

Elder Scrolls 5 came out in 2011 and there is still stuff that I haven't discovered.
I imagine that the reason you start the game being accepted into Hogwarts as a fifth year is mostly practical. Sure, there's probably a good reason story-wise within the game itself as well, but I also imagine the developers want to make this a series/trilogy of games, with each new one focusing on one single school year. If they were to do all seven school years, and spend maybe a couple of years, if not more, on the development of each installment then that's at least a 14-year commitment, which I'm not sure the developers would be prepared to do.
i don't see a point in making this a series, especially in different school years lmao they already have everything here
@@noin4223 You could say the same about a lot of existing, popular video game series, yet they still release new titles on a regular basis.
Not to mention the story element. Have a different plot for each year, while also learning new spells, all of it carried by interesting characters, and that's a recipe for a trilogy of games that could rival Mass Effect, Uncharted or the Batman: Arkham games.

@@noin4223 Yet there's little innovation between one game and the next in each series. Uncharted 4 isn't that much different from Uncharted 3 in terms of gameplay. Arkham City is basically just Arkham Asylum again, just with more gadgets and more content. The gameplay is the same.
You say that Harry Potter is different, but don't offer any explanation as to why it would be. If the game sells well enough, which WB Games and Avalanche are hoping, then chances are they'll want to turn it into a franchise.

Yeah Lego has their hand in a lot of franchises when it comes to their games. Harry Potter, Indiana Jones, Jurassic Park/World, Pirates of the Caribbean, DC, Marvel, Ninjago, Lord of the Rings, Lego Movie and many others. The game Lego Dimensions has almost any franchise you can think of from Scooby Doo and Simpsons to Back to the Future and The Goonies.

i love that. they have a mobile game where all you do is go to potter school and crafting potions and taking classes is what its all about. this adds that PLUS the fighting/dueling element. LOVE IT! not enough to get a ps4/5 but yeah cool. who knows, maybe next year or 3 years from now when they are much cheaper and i have a better tv...............

There is speculation that we may still see Dumbledore in this game as he would be around the age of a first year student. Game looks so good!
@@ROB-cj4kq My timelines are off but after looking it up Dumbledore is much older than what your are thinking. But the wiki page says the game takes place in 1890 which is 3 years before Dumbledore attends. So we definitely won’t see him.
@@ROB-cj4kq They said they wanted separate story lines which it is. Seeing Dumbledore mentioned or seen as a cameo wouldn’t deter from that. All I am saying is if they plan on doing dlc or future content then we will definitely see him. Not sure how you originally got early 1800’s though

They showed a chaser(?) on screen so I would assume it's there. Maybe it's optional?
It's not a harry potter game without quidditch you will 100% get to play it at some point.
This is a gameplay TRAILER not someone actually playing the game how a normal person would play. You can run everywhere if you want they just didnt in the video so people could actually see what was going on and could focus on what was happening.
