Anointed rendition! Sacred indeed!
I listen to this while studying abroad in the USA on a quiet night, it takes me back to the warmth of being with my family at Christmas, and the joy of my younger self at the idea of being with my grandparents. The warmth of the yellow bulb light of their houses after Christmas dinner and the bleak cold of the English winter outside. This takes me back to those nice times and being cold in the village church on Christmas Eve. Thank you for the upload
The soloist at the beginning sung so beautifully 🥹
It´s Molly Noon who now sings with the successful vocal ensemble VOCES8
@@joesoy9185I just realized this 😅
This particular arrangement is by far my favorite for this underrated hymn. Especially that descant at the end, it's like the heavens opened up and all the angels sang with a joyous voice. And I think this choir did a magnificent performance, BRAVO!!
Would you by chance, be able to post the words for the descant?
6. Not in that poor lowly stable,
With the oxen standing by,
We shall see Him; but in heaven,
Set at God's right hand on high;
Where like stars His children crowned
All in white shall wait around.
Yes, I sang it in my children's (Anglican) church choir (Christ The King, Bahamas) as a little boy as a soloist. Have loved it ever since. Thank you Mr. Seifert, our choir director.😍
Absolutely LOVE that descant! It's part of the fun of being a first soprano. We get to sing that great descant!! 😂
Love this after singing in uni choir. Beautiful harmonies and the ending as mentioned.
This carol and choir, takes you back to the essence of being. The personification of love. the sentient voices of those loved ones long gone, peaceful , harmonious.
This is the carol that I need to hear to know that it is Christmas. Thank you all!
Know just how you feel- fantastic, what?!
Agreed.
Merry Christmas to all from The Netherlands.
Absolutely beautiful ! I'm listening to this flawless Christmas carol in August because of its sheer gloriousness!
I know my opinion isn't relevant, but you have excellent taste.
:)
And a reminder to listen today Christmas Day?
Merry Christmas x
Thank you to each and every member of the choir for what you have given us in this sequence of carols. You have given your hearts in this work and I feel like I have come to know each of your personally and have come to love you. Now, with each new carol it's like being greeted by old friends. Merry Christmas, friends.
What a MAGNIFICENT contribution to the world of Christmas music is this....🙏🎄
Glad to see and hear that Christianity is alive in Great Britain. Mrs. C. F. Alexander, who wrote "Once in Royal David's City," "There is a Green Hill Far Away," and "All Things Bright and Beautiful" is one of the best hymnwriters. The performance by Trinity College here is beautiful. Queen Elizabeth would be pleased.
Merci beaucoup , c'est d'une beauté infinie , magnifique chorale
One of the best I’ve heard!! Brilliant xxxx
To all members of Trinity College Choir: A big thank you for sharing your beautiful music 👍👏! Merry Christmas and happy New Year 🎄🧨🎉! 🇺🇸
What lovely ladies and how beautifully they sing

A light in the darkness.
Waaaaoooohh!!! This is an extraordinarily fantastic rendition of the Christmas song. The members of the choir sand with all their hearts and emotion. The connection with the song was powerful. God bless you all.
Beautifully and truthfully said……..
Merry Christmas!
You've made a playlist for these works of art! Fantastic!
I work in a supermarket, and in my opinion this music is infinitely more preferable to the stuff I've had to put up with for the past two months 😃👍👌
COULD NOT 👍 more....🎅☃️☃️!!!
You have my sympathy sir!
Poor you……
It’s the antidote!
Enjoy
Sang along, counter tenor, descant all the way, absolutely divine, thankyou!
Thank you for uploading these! Stuck at home as we are, I appreciate this greatly. Just finished watching last year's Advent service (December 1, Sunday 2019), and it is full of God's Glory and Presence!
Big thank you to the Church Rev and also the choir and the Choir Master for the hard work you all put it

The future is bright for UK.
My parents played the 1956 Willcocks recording every Xmas. Listening to it is my whole observance, in their memory
Christmas without music is IMPOSSIBLE! Thank you, you wonderful singers, for giving me the gift of your voices and your music to warm my heart in these very special Christmas days!
I hope to hear you soon again in Germany.

So glad to hear David Willcocks arrangement again. King's College has changed to using Stephen Cleobury's arrangement, which in my opinion, doesn't have the same power as this one.
Incredibly beautiful.
Absolutely STUNNING!
Marvelous. Thank you 💐

Once in royal Davids city,
Stood a lowly cattle shed,
Where a mother laid her Baby,
In a manger for His bed:
Mary was that mother mild,
Jesus Christ, her little Child.
He came down to earth from heaven,
Who is God and Lord of all,
And His shelter was a stable,
And His cradle was a stall:
With the poor, and mean, and lowly,
Lived on earth our Saviour holy.
For He is our childhood's pattern;
Day by day, like us, He grew;
He was little, weak, and helpless,
Tears and smiles, like us He knew;
And He cares when we are sad,
And he shares when we are glad.
And our eyes at last shall see Him,
Through His own redeeming love;
For that Child so dear and gentle,
Is our Lord in heaven above:
And He leads His children on,
To the place where He is gone.

Who is still listening to this in epiphany?
🎼🎼💯💯💯👏👏👏
Hey! That soloist is now a member of Voces8!
You realised it too!😃😃😃
please add lyrics in the videos
At 4:52 is the girl at the front singing the descant?
Pitch perfect.
Turn up the volume and hear the Heavens open up.

The bescant (the best descant)
I literally just came here to leave a comment about the one true descant, and I’ve already commented about the descant four months ago.
lovely voice. Though it is not the right pitch
beuatiful BUT hard to understand some itmes, the words should have more clarity than beauty for they are far more important.
Can't understand a single word of the song.
Its a beautiful song. May i know their names of these 2 girls? They're very cute for me hehee
Do you want to dox them?
When the choristers become aware of the camera and start to smile or move their heads about self-consciously I discontinue and find another version.k It just ruins it.
So nice to finally see women representation in there!
Can't understand a thing
because its Chuch of England and its all the Scottish way of singing
The acoustics in the chapel are pretty heavy
It is what you FEEL with this immortal work- not discerning the lyrics.....
Brush up on your english hey?
Practice listening. You should get the message from the music it's self. When you're at the seashore and you hear the waves come in, gently or with a roar, you understand the message. When you hear birds gaily singing or angrily fussing or shrieking in alarm you don't understand their "words" but you get the message. When you hear a baby jabber excitedly at someone who loves them or quietly jabber to themselves or crying because they're hungry, need changing, are bored, want cuddling or are sick you don't understand their words either. My Daddy said pay attention. Look, listen and think.
