Retro rpg design....no QOL for modern day gamers....sounds like a dream come true to me.
Hell yeah
There's some QoL. It's just crits bitching about everything. You can even select the actions of each character will perform in auto-battle (Saves a lot of time and mana).
Granted it's more old school than modern game. Very PS2 JRPG type of game. (Similar to Suikoden 5). It's my type of game too.
Just dont expect the game to do well, if you make a niche game then it's going to have a niche audience, JRPGs are already niche games to begin with besides a couple outliers like final fantasy and persona, alienating gamers even further with classic and retro game design with no QoL, a lack of a save anywhere feature will alienate any parent gamers who require this at a minimum to even consider a purchase, according to IGN the average gamer age in 2020 was 36, which means now the average gamer is around 40 years old, and most 40 year Olds are parents of at least one child and parents need either a robust auto save feature that is reliable or better yet a save anywhere feature, its not 2004 anymore when the average gamer was 20 years old and most likely had no children yet, the vast majority of gamers now are adults with children, and that's a fact, I was the same person who adored the suikoden series in the west for suikoden 3, 4, tactics and 5 on the ps2, I spent 2 years playing these games between 2005-2007, but times have changed, I'm not the same 21-23 year old who only knew these types of games, they were great for their time, but they are now extremely dated games that I just don't have time for them anymore, if you don't move with the times the times will change you, if this is the types of games rabbit and bear studios are going to make they aren't going to last very long, this isn't the same small gaming industry of the mid 2000s, this industry is massive now with twice as much competition, if gamers can't get what they want from your games they will look elsewhere, go ask Japan Studios what it's like to make games nobody wants to play, oh wait you can't because they don't exist anymore, why do you think p studio and square Enix are regarded as the two best JRPG developers? Because they moved with the times and changed their games to suit modern gamers, and now final fantasy 16 and persona 5 are the two best selling JRPGs of the last 10 years, yet still hundred heroes is my kind of game and I will eventually get it, I'll probably wait till next year when the game has more content, is relatively bug free, is balanced and is on sale digitally, a save anywhere feature can't even hurt the game, if anything it would make the game better
Yeah, as soon as I hear something like that from a reviewer, I tune the rest of their opinions out.
@@mathewhosier9739 A save anywhere feature is harmless. I wouldn't mind that at all.
If you followed the reception of the suikoden games you are not surprised by this.
Suikoden was poorly reviewed until it was a cult classic and became an amazing game. Gaming critics are meh.
@@thedivide3688 perfectly said
Maybe but the reviews for this game being negative isn’t about its story or gameplay really, it’s all about the bugs and optimization issues that are VERY apparent. I love suikoden, final fantasy is my favorite series, played and beat them all. This game on console has way too many issues. Black screen, some sound bugs and recruitment quest bugs not working right. And oh my god crashes. On ps5 it has crashed at least 10 times in 30 hours of play. That’s ridiculous. I understand the hate towards game journos right now but there are very valid complaints here, don’t be jaded
@@chandlerlowell5 Reviews for suikoden 2 were not about the story either. Translation was very bad at the time as well for example. I was there for every single suikoden release expect from 3 because it didn’t release in Europe for PS2. Was available later digitally on PS3.
@@Suikojunkie well if that’s what you’re talking about a bad translation among other things is a very fair criticism
Imagine making an hd-2d like game and the system that that thrives off of these types of games isn't even the priority.
To be fair I truly think this was more demanding than Triangle Strategy and Octo series. It feels like 2D HD but it pops more 3D with some of the environments.
I mean it definitely still feels like a 2D HD but certainly more 3Dized. I could almost call this a hybrid, much like the Switch. ;-)
Thrives? The switch had old hardware when it released in 2017, why would they prioritize the worst platform? When they can actually make the game run incredibly on actual current gen platforms that all play the game flawlessly in 4K at 60fps, the switch hardware is so bad that even a retro style game like this can only target 30fps and isn't even a stable 30fps, they should of just embraced the current gen tech on both ps5 and xsx/s and just didn't bother with last gen platforms like ps4, Xbox one and switch, this could have easily been a 120fps game at 1080p with HDR and VRR support, instead we have a ps2 game that is even too much for the switch, that's kind of pathetic
@@mathewhosier9739 yes thrives. Looking at this game, it's clear it should have been a priority seeing how these types of games sell on the Switch. There have been games that have made switch a priority and that enabled devs to look at other versions and make adjustment that freed up resources to improve the game tech wise. Prince of Persia did that and that game is a near locked to 60 on Switch, 120 on PS5/Series X.
@@XVa-uj8m this ain’t about the power, it’s about the audience… if you really think the audience on Xbox would eat this up more than the audience on Switch I want whatever you’re smoking.
@@mathewhosier9739 u r dumb or trolling
Still picking this game up but I’m waiting for the physical copy. Hopefully that month will give the developer some time to iron out some of the issues.
hope like terms like Chud in your game and other modern day hate terms and politics. game translation was done by a company like sweet baby inc.
The game was NEVER a console game and even the developers were Skittish on even claiming there would be a swich version
Yup. That's what I was going to say. Those console sales convinced them otherwise.
Yet the switch port seems poorly optimized seeing that it's almost 30GB when we have Star Ocean 2R with a fraction of it and looking and running better
@thatanonwholurksmoar7386 27 Gb on switch and 30 on pc. Almost same that means good optimization
@@tomaspavka2014No, for a Switch port you want the Switch version to be sized massively lower than the PC version. The Switch shouldn't be running high polygon models, high resolution textures, etc. It should be smaller, not equal.
If they ported to the console bc of sales then there's no excuse. There are other games that run perfectly fine on Switch. Again, I don't see any excuse here that would be valid.
30gb on steam, 30gb on switch.... Clearly they didn't care to optimise the switch version
Yeah that part is pretty sad, especially considering that the switch is such a popular system for jrpg fans
@@degreeskelvin3025 switch needs to retire , my pc is 1st gen core i5 super old potato machine and it runs well.
@@phoenixdown1947 that's not the point, switch is the most popular jrpg platform for jrpgs fans like me

Since when do we take "critic reviews" into account?
I totally agree, back in the snes and sega days, there was no youtube or social media to criticize a game.
@@popeyes17Ya it was worse… you had magazines…
You might not but obviously people do since it supplies a demand
@@popeyes17 agree with what ? critic reviews are important, back then without em broken buggy games werent able to get checked and just let slide. Now we are able to know if a game is broken. Countless games that had game breaking bugs or that hardlocked you and nobody would know unless your friend let you know. That was horrible.
It cost nothing to at least hear critics out about performance, bugs, etc. Idk about you, but I appreciate heads up about that kind of stuff from them. With how horribly games are optimized for all consoles, I have to make sure I don't get the questionable version of the game lol
To be honest I personally care less about critic reviews.
Yeah, but the switch negative reviews are more about performance issues.
@@armandostockvideos8386 I'm aware of it but the least I can do is give it a chance.
Right on, but at a point you have to look at some responses holistically - haha -
Unfortunately these days with games being review bombed, usually that has nothing to do with the games themselves, critic scores have become far more reliable than user scores, you should at the very least have to own a game to leave a review for it, if not beat it, which you would think would be a minimum mandatory for a review, but metacritic does a horrible job of removing invalid reviews from review bombers that user scores for most games just cannot be trusted anymore, it's the sad state of the gaming community unfortunately, nobody wants to admit it but we gamers are most to blame for most of the issues plaguing our communities
It's like movies. When the critics hate it.. I buy it. Usually it's good.
Im totally not worried and am super pumped for this. It sounds like the critism is coming from people who like action rpgs, which this is not an was necer meant to be. Who cares if the enemies are not on the screen and its random encounters? That does not make the game better
For some people it is. It's 2024 no 1994.
3:42 had the exact same thought
3:39 took the words right outta my mouth. The change in your voice said it all 🤣
Been playing on ps5 and its a suikoden fans dream to be honest, loving the game so far
I’m definitely getting it on the Switch. I know it’s gonna be like older Suikoden games so that won’t stop me.
The localization really hurts the game
Can you explain to me why is bad, I want to get the game and probably going to play with Japanese dub, but how bad is the localization ?
@@Fonsos777 modern day leftist politics and altering the story for a pure leftist view instead of being a fantasy game for everyone. unless terms being used on characters like "chud" are ok with you and 3rd wave feminism is accaptable.
Is it actually bad or is it just not exactly the same as the Japanese?
@@steveqi9309 From what you can dig on the internet, it's the whole "woke" localization shenanigans but it actually is worse.
I boot the game for a few minutes with jp audio and en subs to check, and there are lines that sounds like it came out of a machine translation, and then there are lines that is just 3 words being translated into two sentences... All within just the opening dialogues which is like 5 minutes long.
@@steveqi9309 from what I have seen, both. It seems to take both a lot of liberties as well as looking like it was never proofread as well as a lot of strange and impossible to understand slang.
What actually happened was that Nintendo delayed launch of its next ten console. In the backer info they specified that the game is dated for the next gen Nintendo system. Didn’t happen so therefore we got this
Is that supposed to be an excuse?
@@NuiYabukoThat actually would be a very legitimate excuse. I'm pretty sure other companies had to pivot when Nintendo supposedly delayed their system 😬
@@brianwright9215 They announced it for a successor way before one was actually revealed. Heck, nothing has been revealed until now, yet the game is out.
Though I suppose that emoji means you're ironic.
How could Nintendo delayed the launch of their next console if they didn't announce it in the first place?
Yes, I remember that when the developer announced Eiyuden they didn't consider making a Switch version, they said they were open to release it on Nintendo's next console, but there was a great demand for a Switch port that they had to make one
@@pablocasas5906It's not about announcing it. These developers get the new kits to work with that should fit into the new console. Yeah, there's companies out there that have been working on games for new Switch.
I'm going to lock myself in a room for days playing this game. Going old school like when I was a kid.
In conclusion, this game can only be played by people who can still enjoy old school style rpg games. Old school in term of game mechanics not the graphics.
is there some holy bottle (like tales of series), which prevent you having enemy for set period of time?
I went to pick up my physical Switch copy, yesterday. I was told that its release is being delayed until May 20-something. I wonder if they are working on patches, and will have them built in to the cart when it releases.
Mine is reserved and I am hanging on to my reservation to see if there are improvements.
And here I am having backed the game to play it on my Switch. How I wished I had changed the version midway through....
You gonna stream watch atlus presentation today?
I'll pick it up when there is a fan translation, thanks.
From what I saw the PS5 version had some problems too with either the sprite work or the resolution because I saw an image where someone put a screenshot of the switch and ps5 versions next to each other and while the switch version was bad, the ps5 version was still blurry with its sprites
Playing on my Steam Deck and Gaming laptop. As a person who played Suikoden 1 and 2, I'm VERY happy! As a reminder, Suikoden 1 and 2 got marginal scores from critics as well- the fans kept it alive. To hell with them I say.
this is what i thought , bandwagons that did't enjoy the suikoden classic will not like this.
How’s the temperature on steamdeck? I played this on my gaming laptop and it was getting to the 90degrees. So I was wondering if I should save my ROG ally from burning too much lol
Hmm.... I'll get it on game pass pc then. Might wait for a patch or two as well. Hopefully they'll adjust the encounter rate/system.
Honestly, for a kickstarter to gain THIS much attention & for what it accomplishes, this was no half-hearted effort. I'd put it over Chained Echoes and with Unicorn Overlord. The Switch version may not be great, but overall, this a great game that can have an even better sequel.
Still gonna pick it up
The game on switch should be able to save anywhere to counter crashing issue if not gonna be optimized.
It’s an unofficial Suikoden entry.. That being the case I’m not canceling my preorder.. We should really support.. I’m sure if there are kinks they’ll ultimately be ironed out
Getting tired of people shitting on random encounters. Not everything has to have visible foes.
True. I like to see my enemies and have the choice to surprise them, but it harkens back to the ol’ school.
@@JMrealgamer That's why there are items that affect random encounters.
The biggest problem with random encounters is they break up the pacing in unnatural ways. Instead of a carefully thought-out, well paced trek the game has random pauses that throw you into action in a very jarring way.
I really prefer enemies on map, like Chrono Trigger and many other old school games. But, I don't mind it in Eiyuden because the encounter rate is fairly low. I hate it when its so high it becomes tedious, like Fire Emblem 2.
@@GamerGarm Or Skies Of Arcadia. I love that game but MAN the random encounters are high.
Damn, I really really wanted to get this day 1 on my switch. After hearing about this though, maybe I should wait out a patch and hopefully they fix the performance stuff quick.
I guess it sucks for if i was thinking of getting it physically on switch. I guess I can try the ps4 version at some point instead, hopefully it's ok
I've been playing it on my PS5 for over a week, and I'm loving it.
Eh 🤷♂️ i love suikoden 2 and a lot of my favorite games are from that era so ill just get it on steam and be fine.
well i already pre order my physical copy so even if it have it's own flaw, but im quite optimistic it will get patched one day, for now I'll play from my pc. still loving it ❤
Problem are the Issues atvthe Switch. Hopefully they fix all of it. How have the Choice took not the Switch Version. I will only buy it Disc Version for my Collection
This is a game I’ve been eyeing the switch ver, but it i guess I’ll wait to see if it gets patched up

I am going to give 10 out of 10 . I am a suikoden game I am getting on Nintendo switch 😊😊😊
You're literally not helping and being grossly disingenuous. The switch port is genuinely flawed
Example A of the problem, people like you.
"This restaurant is passing out food with rat poop in it, but doesnt matter ima give it a 10/10 cause i like chinese" thats you. Youre not helping the issue.
I am a big fan of suikoden games I love ❤️ them
@@duncangroobridge2606Unless Switch is your only console, why go for the flawed one?
I am 59 years old and a big fan of Nintendo. I love RPG GAMES
I guess I'll be OK with the "antiquated" style of gameplay, since I found Octopath Traveller to be unnecessarily bloated.
I'm not a big fan of all this extra input that just serves to make the user click more buttons to do something as simple as attacking the enemy. It's not interesting or challenging on anything than patience... Except if you're a gamer who actually enjoys chores.
What?
@@NuiYabuko Do you not read English?
You essentially don't like the combat button combo system/activate secret techniques with a button thing. I can understand that among other problems like a hold to run button. Just do auto dash or not at all. I have not picked up the game, but I considered doing so a while back. If optimization is bad though I might pass.
the f man, Im sad that AC black flag runs smoother than this game. breaks my hearts
None of the review talked about the loading issue and I discovered after I bought NS version. Amazing.
I’ll be playing it on Gamepass on my Series S. Super excited for it!
solutions for switch: buy the game, dump the game, mod your switch, play it on cfw, overclock it.
This is such a dilemma for me, I collect physical copies of Nintendo Switch HD2D JRPGs and I have PS5... I am contemplating whether I should take the physical copy I preordered on Switch now and just play digitally on PS5 when it gets on sale (but I think I can wait, lots of backlogs anyway).
Most of the reviews from these critics besides the performance issue.
Haven't played a single Suikoden game or any old jrpg's that has the same format/mechanics.
So much for being a critic and they act more like a whiney spoiled kid.
I started to play this sunday, and then on monday all the extra stuff came in, but only if i started a new game. So had to start again, thankfull for the possibility to skip everything. I like it so far. But it's a bit of getting used to that you can not heal on any savepoints
I don't mind random encounters, I love turn based strategic combat.
But I hate having to wait for the switch to load up the combat scenario for 5 to 6 seconds every time I enter or exit combat, the sub 30 fps and the second/half a second it takes to load each page of the menu to check stats, battle formation or magic. It's not a graphically intense game, why is it so poorly optimized?
I've been playing on the switch. I don't think the load times and delays are that big of a problem. I guess I'm used to it. I'm constantly playing old games more than newer ones, so maybe that's just me
Played partially today as early access, really reminds me of suikoden 2... I would say it's 7 out of 10... but it requires a proper gpu to run smoothly.
I have a crap rx580. Played it max 60fps no problem. O_O
@@RafaelLoki Set the graphics settings to max, including distance blur effects. I found it having issues with a PC I was playing this on (with gtx1060), noticed some stuttering when entering towns etc.
Sure there are some QOL features that should be there but doesnt change how awesome this game is. Truly having so much fun with it on PS5.
well it's a shame...i guess i have to wait a little bit for the switch version. but yeah QoL in jrpg is godsend that should be implemented in modern jrpg at least auto save is a must.
my only problem so far on the switch is it likes crashing after like 5 hours, knew the game wouldnt be as good looking as other consoles from the start, Rabbit and Bear stuido's have been wanting a switch 2 from the start as they were not sure how well it would be on the OG switch, do hope when we get a switch 2 like system they give an update to run better.
what quality of life things would people want? you can fast travel, control encounter rates, change party members at all inns, has a programable auto battle, might have other things but those are the only things i care about
Control encounter rates much later in the game with accessories.

Was this a rushed port? If so shame on the makers.
I'd say so, when they Kickstarter for Eiyuden was unveiled they didn't mention the Switch at all, they just mentioned that it could come on Nintendo's next system. But since there were no news about a new Nintendo console and that a lot of players wanted to play the game on Switch, they decided at the last moment that Eiyuden would be released on the Switch
It's a shame that the Switch version is so poorly optimized, considering that, according to some numbers, they Switch were this game is selling the majority of its copies
I'm still looking forward to playing this game on my switch oled console tomorrow despite the reviews Player. I could get this game for my ps5 console. But I like playing my games on the go and playing at home. It's up to people to what platform they want to play this game on. The steam deck is a very expensive handheld console Player. People could play this game on 💻 . But the PC is very expensive as well Especially a gaming PC. People might want to wait until the switch 2 launches. But people are going to wait ✋ until early next year or later next year to play this game on the switch 2 console player.
Suikoden on Psone was one of my favorite games of all time. Will definitely be picking this up. Thanks for the heads up that it doesn’t run well on Nintendos underpowered console. Will opt to purchase for the Xbox series X.
Switch version went on sale shortly after release not sure if that a good thing or a red flag 😂
You should compare its performance with other indie game made with Unity engine.
I played the switch version from my backers code ... I don't like the loading times, other than that its fine, I think.
I think Konami is waiting for the newer Switch to release the game. To be one of the first few games on the new Nintendo console.
Apparently 8-4 was involved.
I did cancel my Switch preorder and got the PS5 version instead. I was looking forward to playing in portable mode though watching it now it probably all would have been very tiny on the screen. And I don't want to buy a mess of a game that will require another 20gb download to fix in six months, if ever.
four reviews isnt enough and it is retro by design in regards to their quality of life choices.
i need more ppl to review switch version.
I played trails on switch despite performance.
So that's it? Qol and performance? What about the content... like the story music and the animations- are they great or just passing? For me, one issue I have whenever I see it getting used in games is that cheap looking one-dimensional cardboard cut-out look? (almost a plague on mobile gaming haha) that doesn't come up in these reviews? Doesn't matter much anyway because I've already bought the game.
It looks great to me IDC what critics say it only matters how I feel when I play it.
Imagine making a game a spiritual successor to a retro styled game, with the goal of it being the same style.
game journalists: Unacceptable, old school, bad.
That doesn't mean it has to come with all the quirks those games have. Games like Celeste get praised for getting the feeling of retro games right, while being a modern game.
Im 8 hours in on PS5, and I can agree theres TONS of outdatedness to the design. Lack of quick travel or way to escape a dungeon is my biggest gripe especially with all the backtracking you gota do to find and recruit people. Also the game doesnt make it clear where to go half the time. It took me hours to realize going back to the mines from the Fortress Base Town was inside a freaking WELL inside the castle, for example.
You can't just agree with the critics.
I'm not being serious, by the way.
admittedly, those things weren't a issue when i was a kid/teen and i had infinite time in the world, all the outdated inconveniences back then weren't a big deal. Now days though... im more pressed for time and rarely stay stuck on one game long.
@@tylerdurden7965 Right, as an adult I cant be spending hours just to make 5 minutes of progression in a JRPG like the old days or waste time backtracking out of a dungeon just because I wanted to find 1 person inside e.t.c
@@tylerdurden7965 That's what people easily miss when they talk about such things. Like, how many people didn't just use a guide or even stopped playing, because they didn't know what to do? Many people often also got 1-2 games a year as kids, so then they could spend hours roaming the map not knowing where to go, because they didn't have much else to play. That's also why some people even played through bad games.
Switch’s physical was delayed a month for a reason. Hopefully they clean up the technical issues. All of the other nitpicks don’t bother me. I recently replayed the Suikoden series and DQ8. None of said quality of life features are present in those games and they’re all-timers. Saving or subbing in party members anywhere would feel weird in a Suikoden successor. The rest of your roster stay at your base. It’d be weird for you to be wandering around with an entire army.
Not exactly... A camp generally moves with its army so they could have done some interesting things with that. Say... You can go set up a camp, move off from a camp and then set up a new one elsewhere but if you did people at another location wouldn't be accessible unless you moved back there.
People are really hard to please these days...😅
Haven't encountered any issue with my switch version yet so far.

Not even the new Pokemon games run good on the switch, what did people expect? On PC, all you have to do until they patch it is lock the frame rate with nvidia settings or whatever to 60 fps. It fixes the random battles being sparse.
SV seem a lot more demanding than that, though, so what kind of excuse is that supposed to be?
@@NuiYabuko There is a reason a lot of companies are not putting games on the switch anymore. It's outdated and hard to optimize because they are taking too long to upgrade it or make a switch 2.
Been playing it on Steam, and I don't have a problem with some of the retro elements. Don't think it's fair to criticize random battles as it a staple for so many JRPGs. I also noticed criticism of it being turned based. Again I don't think it's fair to criticize these classic JRPG formulas.
I pre-ordered the physical switch copy, oof.
same lmao. im thinking i should just get rid of the pre-order and download a digital version xD
You have to understand that games like Tears of the Kingdom and Super Mario Odyssey were first party triple A releases that had a big budget to make sure they are optimized fully for the Switch. Even games like Octopath Traveler 2 were backed by Square Enix, whereas this game was indie and funded probably entirely by fans. I'm not trying to excuse the Switch version, and I definitely think it should have been delayed...but they didn't have a choice in that matter because if they mentioned that during their kickstarter campaign they wouldn't have received as many backers. It's kind of a lose-lose in that regard.
So they promised a Switch version just to get funding?
Well, at least they delivered on the promise, but that's not a good look.
@@NuiYabuko I think they intended to try, and they tried their best but just couldn’t do it, and delaying the switch port would have been a worse look.
I think the Eiyuden team was caught in a very uncomfortable place, they didn't want to make a Switch version, they even said that they were expecting Nintendo to announce their next hardware, but many of the backers wanted a Switch version, and considering the Switch version is the one that leading the charts in various regions, perhaps they should have made the game with the Switch's hardware in mind, but many Japanese developers have demonstrated that they don't want to develop their games for Nintendo systems, despite the fact that the Switch is the most successful console of all time in Japan

If persona 1&2 be remastered today, all those crits would never beat the game. I think the only flaw is tech issues, but I played the PC version and it's easy a 9 out of 10. Game is amazing and I even dare to say it's ranked third in my heart (Suikoden 5 and 2 are better),
I'm really happy how the game turned out. It would be cool to see the enemies, but a lack of it don't lower the game quality. I never look at those scores anyway, complete useless.
As an older gamer in my 40s I have no problem with random encounters. I love turn based gsmes. Moder audience weirdos you have enough games. Let us old heads have some traditional jrpgs
I love my switch but even i understand that its the weakest system in the ecosystem, so if the game ends up running worse than other systems i wont exactly be surprised.
It's not the running worse part that are hurting its reviews, its the constant crashes and bugs. The game was added to the Switch late in its development and it shows.
It's not really an excuse about power when we have games like SO2R and Octopath that runs and looks better than this. It's simply poor optimization. Hell, the damn game is almost 30GB on the switch
Oh i was really excited for this one, thats too bad
It crashes alot... cannot play the mini l games-even when building shops it crashes ..... good game it's just very bugged
I'll get the PC version 🤷🏾♂️
Sounds like the Switch reviewers just do not lime this type of game. No need for faster frame rates in turn based games. When comparing this game, you compare it to games in the 90’s or early 2000’s. That is this type of game.
The loading screens ..... so many... and the menus are very sluggish..
Dude, my wife, myself and the 4 other people I know currently playing it are all in love with it so far. Critics these days are just out of touch. Half the games they give stellar reviews are absolutely trash video games.
So only your opinion is valid?
enemies on screen mean u have to zone out to make them reappear. hell no. wouldnt be a suikoden game if they used another games style. tf
Sad that 2d games are not even doing well on the switch…
I agree when reviewers hate it it definitely good.
Steam deck runs like a dream. Medium Shadow settings at 40fps gets you a stable frame rate and over 4 hours of battery life on a full battery. It’s the best way to play!!
Sounds like dudes reviewed this game that this game was not made for. I dunno. I'll probably pick this up later after some patches hit for the Switch since I've got the experience with retro style RPGs. Newer gamers might struggle with this one by the sounds of it though.
That’s why I’m glad I got a Switch Pro… Oops! I mean Steam Deck. (Still love the Switch for exclusives though)
I feel like a lot of game reviewers are just whining when something inconvenient to them even slightly are a lot of modern gamers are just whining in general
And you're whining about people whining I guess?
It's amazing how someone isn't allowed an opinion once they start reviewing games professionally.
@@NuiYabuko it's just really nitpicky s*** that's my problem like if you play jrpgs guess what a lot of these features have been a thing for a long time if you don't like it don't play this genre
@@NuiYabuko and clearly 100 hero is inspired by games in the 90s and guess what that's exactly what they're doing it's just when these game journals get butthurt because the game doesn't hand hold you all the way through
@@amacandtheswordoflight310 You supposed to whine about a game having BUGS. I dont want my games to be Buggy.
@amacandtheswordoflight310 nit picky? As in crashing on Switch or just out right freezing and never resolving? The FPS is bad across ALL platforms. The boss battles are very very slow. The strategy battles are very slow. I think it's justified criticism when Rabbit and Bear took MILLIONS to produce a mediocre game. The hype didn't match the final product. They didn't deliver fully on what was promised. Backer wise or game wise.
Suikoden V got a similar review score. I enjoyed it more than Final Fantasy 10. Eiyuden is for some not all…isn’t it great that games are made for their audiences. Not all…
It could still be a success despite the technical problems. But then they had to also shove politics on the localization and attack the customers.
There you have it, recipe for disaster. Now the only hope is a fan translation/patch.
54 sounds about right seeing how terrible the switch port is with performance and bugs
