With many subscribers asking the burning question "How many trailers have you got?" It's now time Michael gave a little insight into why he doesn't 'always' give an answer.
We all know that the real answer is 'NOT ENOUGH'.

Feeling 60% today. That lovely town we both once called home has been bumper to bumper today and nothing got anywhere. Customers late, parts stuck in traffic. Smart move escaping the south east. I’m just not brave enough to do anything like that 😂 the only positive is nobody got caught speeding!! Ohh and nobody ever asks me how many oil filters I’ve got to estimate my wealth, I’m offended. 🤣

The last sides I put onto a silage trailer was a weeks(long time ago now)lol
It doesn't matter what you have on fleet where, as long as you can source another for the next customer.

Hi Michael. I have been thinking about what you said about not telling people about how many trailers and what machinery you have got. I am sorry but on this occasion, I can not agree with you. To me it shows people how successful you have been and how hard you have worked. You come across to be a nice guy, a great boss and a true gentleman, you want to be proud of what you have achieved in a very challenging market. All I can do is show you respect. ( I can assure you I understand your industry fully and your challenges ).

Just one thing I wonder about if you hire a tractor to someone how do you know they are going to look after it and that they aren't going to work it round the clock and put a lot of hours on it do you hire things like beet harvesters etc as a person who drives trucks I don't know anything about tractors so I find this fascinating 👍😊
You are right not say what you have need to have some mystery as for trailers red rock was my favorite and very easy to assemble

From what I’ve heard the 8S still has teething problems they are early days perhaps avoid them for a year or two if you are going RED . The 205 n 265 represent their HP before Boost but they have some extra ponies in there . Lovely concept , it’s RETRO Massey
Good Point & Well Said Micheal 👍. However there are exceptions to the rule!…. Underpants!!….. Less is More!!…. Fair enough if you happen to own 6 or 7 Hundred acres of land doesn’t mean you own 6 or 7 Hundred pairs of Underpants.

I'm feeling 90% today. As Michael would know I like collecting Britain's, Wiking ect models. Building my own model farm. I've now found a company who supply a model kit to build your own trailers. So what should I build. A Stewart or Richard Western. Both have an option of silage sides.

Your on a public platform with a plant rental company and somebody asks you a question about the size of your fleet well what are you doing on YT if your a private person then??
You have to respect company’s privacy at the end of the day there is lost of competition out there and they don’t have to do CZcams

The big hire side is pretty much what the channel is about. You don't need to give everything away but if you said for eg we have a fleet of over 50 trailers it gives an idea without too much detail.
Mike Mitchell learnt that when he at first refused to answer how many acres his family farm despite all the interest being in the sheer scale and difficulties associated with it. Only when he started to engage with subscribers did he see significant growth.

@@nigelgribble8736Mike did say how many acres back some years ago . Mike is pretty open about what he has , but Canada is a different country to the UK . They handle success differently. More begrudging attitudes in the UK

I disagree with you on saying how much kit you run. GCS is a business, your company information is readily available online if you know where to look. Your personal wealth is your business 100%. As far as Business goes, people knowing your kit is only an advertising opportunity. GCS Group will be a vat registered company and as such you are only advertising your available machinery. It is very hard to estimate a NET worth as we DON'T care if you own it, or it is on finance. People are just interested for content. AND i have never met anyone who takes offence when asked how many acres they farm. How many acres they actually own is completely different and it is up to them if they disclose that in the conversation. Just a different way to view it and keep business and personal things separate. You might be a sole trader or partnership but the business owns the money, not you personally untill you sell or cease trading.

Well if you bought 1 trailer on finance and it is paid off then you own it but if you trade it and use the equity to buy 3 new ones on finance you don't own nothing as the depreciation on first year will leave you with no trailer paid off and 3 trailers on finance possible with no equity on any of them so what your saying is rubbish as you have possibly no money in the bank but lots of finance payments so nobody will be able to work out how much your worth in reality apart from your accountants

It’s no one’s business what you do but would be interesting to know roughly how many trailers are out there! The grey combine doesn’t have a steering column did you spot that? Joystick steering I would think
mega millions of pounds worth there and left out in the UK weather

@@GCSMachinery I see many many farmers with their gear left out in all weathers and the equipment isn't cheap.
Time they use it next year grass has covered it. They must have more money than sense. You keep your equipment in top gear, oiled and greased up as it's for hire. I think farmers can't care that much to leave their gear out in the open here in the UK.
