Just replaced my bearings in a Zhender Q450 with the help of this video.
Some tips. Set the unit to Service mode and turn off power. Remove the heat exchanger.
Dismount the fan following instructions in manual.Leave the fan wiring connected.
Open the scroll housing by removing the 5 screws.
Remove the motor from the scroll housing by removing 4 screws.
Split the motor by removing the next 4 screws and taking care not to damage the 3 pins that connect to circuit board.
Take the plastic cap off the bearing to expose the circlip.
Remove circlip carefully with small circlip pliers.
The bearing wouldn't move so I had to enlist my sons help to use a punch and tap the centre of the shaft while I held the centre of the motor and that got it moving.
The bearing on the base needed some gentle persuasion with a screwdriver from the rear.
Check the postion of the two star wadhers before removal. One sprung off before I could check it. I reassmbled with the lower one convex on the housing and outer one covex against bearing (small diameter touching) used of bearing to locate the circlip. Don't forget to reinstall plastic cap.
    Hope this helps.

Many thanks for the tutorial. It helped me to diy both fans bearings (two pairs) on my Zehnder Q450. Both fans became noisy just after 4 years of operation which is pretty close to bearing design life of 40,000 hours. Surprisingly none of the Sales guys who recommended me Zehnder didn’t advertised that I will need to replace both fans every 3-4 years at cost of £500! (Bearings c/out not offered by Zehnder nor EBM papst!). Thanks to you I have purchased 4 bearings at local shop for £10 for the lot and diy in 1.5hrs including cleaning. During the test I have selected max rpm and I could not hear it!!! Forgotten how quiet it can be - Zehnder is a Ferrari amongst heat recovery systems.

We had our Zehnder CA350 fan bearings fail at 2 years (both fans). I registered up
to 60dB in our bedroom from our normally silent Zehnder! No help from Zehnder or our sales company - they said they should last forever. We managed to talk Zehnder America into covering the fans under warranty. So now we want to repair the original fans and buy extra bearings for next time! We have the Ebmpapst R3G220-RG19-07 fan. What bearings do you recommend? Thanks! Jacquie

@@p1rkarlsson did the PCB follow with the cover in your case? I have the same fan (r3g190-rc05-19) but the PCB seems to have at least three super small locking plastic pins towards the fan motor, how did you do with them? So the PCB in my case is somewhat stuck, not as in this video. I'm suspecting it's a "sealing"/"plombering" so it can just be "destroyed"?

Thank you for this!! Zehnder doesn’t offer any other assistance than sending a $500 new fan plus installation charges. We installed our Zehnder ourselves in a house we built by ourselves…so just replacing bearings makes more sense to us. We now have a silent Zehnder HRV again. We will do a full clean/inspection every 6 months from now on and will order extra bearings. Would the 608-2RSH/C3 perhaps last longer than the 608-2Z? We have an ocean and marina On either sides of our house so I would like the bearings to be as protective as possible.
