Concord grapes are really tiny - like "slightly larger than peas." They're available seasonally, and are used in jelly, wine, candy and grape soda. They're pretty good - hunt them down when you get back to the US!

Most American products that use artificial grape flavour use the Concord grape variety, but I believe Japanese grape flavour uses the Muskat variety.

I am a Jocat fan and I love all of his videos. The thing is I dont use Twitter or rarely use social media so I didn't know a lot about what is happening in people personal life. Awe, this one was a lot of fun to watch! Looks like you guys had a lot of fun, even just on your first day. Used to have going to Japan on my travel wishlist but it kind of got backburner-ed after the Panini. This re-ignited my interest and I think I'll start planning again 😁
You need to try Cotton Candy Grapes. TRUST ME. They absolutely taste just like cotton candy. It's like witchcraft. They sell them at my local Brookshires (East Texas) so maybe you guys can find some near you. They are CRAZY in that they don't taste anything like a normal grape at all. They really do taste like cotton candy! You and Jocat gotta try them.

according to google, japan uses high fructose corn syrup as well. curious now, as a diabetic, what they have for diet version of stuff >.> I've found low carb ramune over in my part of Canada, but never a true diet version like we have in north america.

What a fun video! When I was back in Korea, I used to pop grapes like those into my face all the time. And persimmons! I like them when they're soft almost to the point of mush. Hope it's a great trip!

in Japan, we usually peel the grape. some of them even just pop right out of the skin. then, I spit the seeds at my sister.
Combini food and drink is really good quality in Japan. Though the Chu-Hi are so so easy to drink as they barely taste alcoholic, and the flavours are very varied. After the Pizza-man, you've got to try the curry-man (bun). Also be wary when buying large bottles of water, besides getting flavoured water, you can get extremely cheap large bottles of clear liquid, which is actually very cheap Sake :D

The lack of cheese is because a lot of Asian people are lactose intolerant. Do its not a big thing in most of the cooking there, you can find it though.

Why does evey CZcams who goes to Japan go to Tokyo, what's wrong with the other parts of Japan
I understand Jo so much about liking a flavor of something but not the actual thing. I love strawberry flavors but you couldn't pay me to eat an actual strawberry.
