Living up to the channel name

Thank them by buying their products and letting them know garage idiots sent you!
@@commonsenseisdeadin2024 wish I could. I am a little far away from the US.
for getting the hot air out of the toolbox , maibe put a small actuator / linear servo under the lid so it lifts open the lid about an inch or so should make it flow a LOT more air and when parked with the lid down it still be invissable
gunny thing that years ago i did some benchracing on the turbo forum and suggested just about the exact thing youre building , planned to reverse mount the intake and have the exhaust go out the tank fill flap though
probably would do a water to air intercooler not a lot of airflow needed
Screaming into the muffler reminded me of ace Ventura pet detective with the sliding door scene! 😂
Mans smart enough to be a cardiologist . But works on cars, I wish I would have seen this before studying for my doctrine. Working on humans is way to stressful also; paying people to work on my car is getting too crazy!
I definitely don't still do that when I go to the hardware store😅
if you mark your cutout then use a hole saw in the corners before you cut the rest out you get much better looking results instead of sharp corners it looks intentional and only takes a couple min to do
Ah good point! Next time!
Even better is to cut 10mm under size and roll/bend the edge over for strong OEM style holes.
After all your sponsor gave you some really cool big hole saws
They would be more impressed if you used them
😂😂😂😉😉😉
Fun chop it up episode still 👍🏻👍🏻
Congrats on 100k
Thanks!!!!!
Massive congratulations on 100k 💪💯
@@trevorsmith9251 thank you!!!
oh, man...i remember when you were just cracking 20k... i won headlight bulbs from the live stream you did with the cage builder that broke his back some years later...keep showing the work... love what you do... and yes, i like the dip and powder videos as well..
Hey man! I know you’ve been here for the long haul. I appreciate you and glad we finally made it!
Congratulations on hitting a major milestone for the channel Preston. 100K is no joke and you've worked your ass off for it. Every single episode has been a blast to watch. Thank you for sharing your adventures. 🍻 Here is to hitting the next 100K in half the time 😎👍🏽 Stay hungry.
Thanks man!!! I know you’ve been here since the beginning! I appreciate ya!
one of the best ads (plug) i have seen in a vid, simple and effective

Just saying 😂
I been here from the beggining, when the bug had a hackedbup integra front end welded into it. So glad to see you finally hit 100k mark, its a big hurdle. Congratulations
Thanks dude!!! Sorry it took so long and we’ve had so many ups and downs. We’re gonna gear up !
@GARAGEIdiotS no need to apologize, CZcams is a very tough egg to Crack. I have always thought you worked hard and made awesome content. Keep it up
Also remember, giveaways are the current trend and can be very lucrative and bring in viewers. Thanks for the great entertainment!
@@justaguynamedmax8207 thanks man. Funny you should mention the give away thing…
@@GARAGEIdiotS now I'm intrigued....excited to see what's coming.
I love Benchmark Abrasives. Been using them for over 10 years now. They make the best stuff.
day 1 of asking them to supercharge a car with a leaf blower
Get some more people to rally and I’m in!
we need it
No
Already been done it takes 4 big ones. Roadkill did it
Um sir, go look up Poeboys leaf blower supercharged Tacoma.😮
Great work. Love the progress and the solutions for airflow to intercooler and to the boxes. 👍👍
This is actually the best advertiser/creator combo I've seen.
Tired of the Earbud and smoothie adds....
Well they aren't creating content for you to enjoy for free.... For free!
Man I can't wait to follow your progress I'm building an ls swapped 91 reg cab shortbox 4x4 as a mud truck and I want to do a remote mount turbo to keep the mud away from it and I'm going to follow alot of design aspects from you. keep up rhe good work and keep wrenching
to add extra cooling/air flow into the tool box to help with turbo heat you could put some small fans in some of the cut outs you made
or do something sim to what you did for the intercooler
Another perfect video, congrats on 100k.
Extensive, independent, and very technical exhaust system testing🗣. Not what I came here for, but I'm here for it.
And 2👍👍for the use of cutouts. You possibly introduced many to the existence of them. Although you use yours for camouflage, they have a great use in the hobby.
---Following is a P.S.A.--- for those who need to hear it.
Cutouts, this single item is much needed on many "street builds." Martha (or Karen) at the end of your street does not want to listen to the (shitty straight pipe) sound of you going to work at 530 every morning. They will complain, laws will be added, etc... save the hobby, don't just cut off your exhaust system, buy and install cutouts. Save the hobby.
PS. The same goes for rolling coal. Although it can be funny, that guy in the Prius is probably on the city or county council. He loves the EPA. I will step off my soap box📣 now and see myself🚪 out 😂.
100% i live and work on our family farm and often dont get to sleep untill 3AM i live on a hill with a nice long strait away i cant tell you the number of people that just cant seem to keep from ripping up it their fun is my lack of sleep also came real close to cutting a shit box in half when it was racing up said hill and i was pulling out of the yard with a tractor with a 4ft long round bale spike on the loader my day would not have been great his would have been alot worse
After watching you for better than 5 years now I'd be lying if I said I wasn't excited to see the Jeep run just sleep for idea is awesome man I'm loving it
I love the way you keep it quiet. That's going to save you from a lot of unwanted attention 😁
To make the turbo piping more discrete, get a body kit from a Colorado Xtreme
Next video...someone stole my entrire turbo kit, in two toolboxes. 😂
We use Benchmark Abrasives where I work.
Strip disks, flappers and cutoff wheels, all great.
Awesome man. Love the project. My more door canyon v8 turbo is gonna come together quick...month delay because welder died. Just got new welder setup today.
wtf, didn’t he know you had a project going on? Pretty rude to die in the middle of that if you ask me.
Congrats on the 100K man! Love your laugh... makes you sound like a mad scientist! (BTW, the tool box without the intercooler looks like a good place to keep your burritos warm)
Haha thanks man!!!!
I have a 4" boost activated fender dump and a full 3" exhaust. The great part is lights street tires before it even has enough load to crack the dump. Pretty much don't have enough traction to open the dump on the street so it's always quiet
You're a mad genius Preston and we're here for it muhahahaha
I love these kinds of builds from you. Seems like there was a lot of effort to hide the turbo but I feel like that exhaust under the truck attracts enough attention on its own.
Please please please please please put a filter on the turbo please please please 🙏🏿🙏🏿🙏🏿🙏🏿🙏🏿
Someone clearly hasn't been watching this channel for long. It's garage idiots. Idiots is the operative word..... And must of us are here for it.... Sixty percent of the time it works every time!

@@YerBrwnDogAteMyRabit nah, ill rather pay someone to get dirty. After all, it’s what they know! Ty.
Fuggin heel, that abrasives combination package is elite 👀💪🏽 and just when you start to think there is too much fuckery going on,Tig comes to the rescue and restores the goods.
the top of the turbobox has that descending lip, could raise it up so it's not visible unless purposely looking from below but has a decent gap between it and the walls. sound may be a problem with this idea though
also the "accidental holes" definitely arent accidental, they're just a way to save weight
Congratulations Preston on the 100k!!! This is a very cool build. I really enjoyed this series.
I will always be a fan, keep it up.
I thought I was the only guy that screamed into mufflers 😂 great test
Nope, we've ALL done it before... lol
I love my 2005 GMC Canyon (similar), got it for $4k cash at start of pandemic. It had 138K miles, runs great. The odometer is now up to 150K, still running strong. My first pickup truck, hoping there will be a conversion kit or replacement engine for it, when that time comes.
Lets go!! DONT STOP!!!
LETS GOOOO
Love this build! I think it would look better with a low profile cover over the turbo. Then have a tonneau cover over the whole thing. Would be smexy
Use Harbor freight tool boxes, I'm thinking they're lighter than most 😂 And you'd benefit from an oscillating cutter for the tight corners ( carbide cutters are well worth the extra cost)
They anodize aluminum for the same reason you paint or powder coat steel....... They also do it to seal the inferior quality of material used to cast!
That specific product is not intended to be fabricated any further, it has a bolt on flange and threads for a fitting. If you needed a stand pipe you could just thread in a pipe with the proper threads, you could also weld the fitting to the pipe and thread the pipe and not have to prep (rid the coating/anodizing) but it doesn't really matter it's anodized because either way you want to prep and clean all material before welding!
Anyway, still a sick build!
Aluminum is anodized to prevent corrosion.
At my company, we anodized aluminum parts as they move inside cylinders, this prevents premature wear also.
Can you anodize a cat? A chicken? Perhaps a kangaroo? Blue would be cool 🤔
4 hours ago i checked the channel page to see if another vid was out. 4 hours later i was happy
20 years ago I hid a 10 pound nitrous bottle in a picnic basket in the back of my mint 1967 Chevy Impala station wagon, I rebuilt the original 300 h.p. original 327 engine, added a mild cam and headers, and a 700r4 tranny. The big whale would haul ass, it surprised and amazed quite a few unsuspecting cars.
Haha my dude you’re a absolute maniac I love it. Forgot power to the plugs hahaha
it's souped up!
I like soup
I've started a Cadillac Northstar with 4 injectors unplugged after a starter job, and it ran about a minute before I realized it was running a _little_ rough.
Heck yeah dude
This is probably the coolest thing you've done besides the bug!
I will fight you in the shirt
@@GARAGEIdiotS I rather you take it off 😉
Great work dude. This showed up in my feed after seeing the shorts.
4:36 as a licensed aircraft engineer, I support this message😂😂😂😂
this is my first time watching you but i took a drink right before you screamed and i spit everywhere lol good stuff!
Hahaha 😂 that’s great lol sorry
That cutout ain't so incognito... lol. Cool build, always wanted a 5.3 Colorado but they're rare and hard to find.
love this series!!! can't wait for you to line it up and Suprise people LOL
The amount of custom things you make is amazing. Awesome man
Ngl what you could addd to the truck to help hide the side pipes is possibly add some side steps or rock sliders to hopefully hide them, but idk that could also add a substantial amount of weight and add some extra hassle
Great idea, I did think about that as well
Oil free turbo's would suit this build soo much better!
Hmmm, my 351W turbo Ranger build may need to take a turn...time to toolbox shop at the wrecking yard!
The only thing I would suggest is some kind of pre - post start lube for the turbo based on the distance from the oil pump.
Lol the four cylinder thing had me dying I’ve done that before and I was confused for like an hour looking for the problem
Your father must be proud of you
I wish I knew how to take that 😂
@@GARAGEIdiotSthat’s what I was thinking
What's a father?
Benchmark Abrasives is the shit! We all knew Preston was going broke trying to clean up all them "welds"
Hey hey hey now, I only have to clean up 70% now, we’re improving
@@GARAGEIdiotS true.. that vband does look pretty.
Is that a solid connection between the engine and the radiator? Wow. That's a coolant leak waiting to happen and a blown engine when it's boosted.
That flap disk deal is crazy ordered it as soon as I saw it, 2 flap disks are $10 around me I just paid a dollar per disk…insane
GRATTS AND HAPPY TO 100.000 SUBSCRIBERS, FINALLY AT ONE OF THE MILE STONES!

Nicely done Preston!
Thank you!!!! We’re gonna try!!
as someone who put a cammed 5.3 in a 2006 canyon this is awesome
Heck yea!!!
I will be following from now on just to see this build haha I love super hidden power mods
I gotta say idk much about welding but I have to say your welds are clean!
I just wonder if Preston has ever thought of or tried using gutter downspouts for piping. Either intake or exhaust. Has anyone done this. There’s got to be.
Benchmark Abrasives should reconsider sponsoring anyone who would remove the guard from angle grinders and make videos with those guards removed.
I love this build. The more you laughed manically... the more I laughed manically.
They anodize aluminum parts clear (white) to either make the surface harder, or to make it non conductive.
great project. and i see you have finally become friends with the welder XD
I found a video with ALOT of tig knowledge in it from chris razor on steve Morris's channel the title is about welding copper pipe that carries a ton of voltage. Also i suggest putting running boards on it, will hide that pipe beautifully
Almost 130k now! Growing fast! Awesome project!
Well done on the 100000 subs, You deserve it. Oh and not much of a sleeper if you are documenting everything on youtube.
Very cool none the less.
I realize that 😂😂 thanks man
This guy makes me want to go out and chop up my Colorado 😅
Had the same coating on SS I couldnt weld it with mig but stick got the job done took a long time to figure out it was the coating on it
id luv to see it when a junkie who finds it parked and tries to steal the tools from your toolboxes !
Hopefully they crossed it first and didn't get into another tool box before hand otherwise "fuking score!" And they unbolt all that sht and still take your sht!
Well that's creative going to be a big surprise for the guy who tries to steal the tools in your toolboxes😂 I'm digging those Nitto NT420s tires not sure why 🤔 my ID 🤣
I fucking love this channel. Only found it in the last couple weeks. Which means I have lots of content to catch up on! Keep it up
Haha thanks for watchin!
Can't wait to see it person.
I been debating doing a rear/remote mount in the bed of my ranger..
How well does the oil system work? Any issues with the oil too-from turbo ? like ie: daily driving?..
what pump would you recommend for a scavenge/return pump? and did you need too restrict the oil psi TOO the turbo in-feed?
Idk how I haven't found this channel earlier but I'm ashamed lol this is sick
Love hearing you celebrate brother.
YEESSS. I love this build. I cannot wait to see it drive.
Congrats on 100k mister. Certainly been a long well fought battle getting there since picking up several Bugs for a crazy build idea. Lol
