    I like the idea of that tool.
    I myself have been using a large socket and a small socket and my vice four years to press apart and press back together, universal joints on driveshafts, and shock absorber bushings..
    just one little thing about using dishwashing detergent or any soap/liquid on aluminum parts, like lubing tires to mount them on aluminum wheels….
    any soap, detergent, dishwashing liquid, 95% of them have LYE in them. LYE is the ingredient that makes it feel so slimy and slippery. The problem with it is, it is like putting acid on aluminum.. any soap, detergent, dishwashing liquid , Hand soap, hair shampoo, anyone of them that burns your eyes, has LYE in it

    Can you also use this method to install the bushings aswell?

    • @NWAdventureRider
      @NWAdventureRider  Před 5 lety +2

      To install them I lube them up with liquid dish soap and smack them with a dead blow hammer.

    Don't new shocks come with new bushings?

    • @NWAdventureRider
      @NWAdventureRider  Před 6 lety +2

      Yes, most do. Sometimes the bushing gets warn out faster than the shock. In my case I am changing the shock mounts and needed different bushings.
