A better paralel to this is the story of the Emperor's New Clothes. Everyone noticed the emperor was naked, but no one said a thing, because keeping the illusion was better than being seen as stupid. If Capcom can make their characters look like the original model so can western devs. They blatantly choose not too because they are too scared of getting media blasted and "canceled" a la what they are trying to do with Game Science. Hopefully Black Myth ends up being the start of the healing process. If studios see that despite all the negative press the game still ends up being highly successful, then maybe more companies will start taking the risk of making games the way they want them to be made and not the way this nose ring mafia dictates they be made.

Odd tidbit here: not all the removed marble "bits" were thrown away. When the Vatican censored their statues by removing things and placing artful stone leaves instead, the church officials actually kept the removed "bits" and stored them for posterity. So,, is it bad to draw characters where the man happens to be short (5'6" or under) in the same scene as a woman who happens to be tall (5'10" or over), let alone as a couple? If so then I'mma give up on drawing cause I can't get with always avoiding that.
Already happened. Think Wolverine (5'3) and Emma Frost (5'10). Works fine because Wolverine is very masculine and Emma is very feminine.

If characters like what Walker pitched were put in the games instead of the androgynous creeps they end up going with, people would probably be 100% ok with the game because the character is attractive.
