Munchies, thank you for sharing this with us. Seeing other khmerican families strive and grow from hardhips that roots to the Khmer rouge & us, as 1st generation Cambodian American. It really fills my heart with joy & love. Even Ming Kungthea, reminds me of my mother in every way. Hospitable, loving, feeding others, skilled in the kitchen and emotionally energetic. (Crying while typing this) Someday, I'd love to see them on an ordinary grocery shelf. As for now, I will buy my jars of this sauce. Love this.
My mom was 8 months pregnant with me, had to barefoot walk for 11 days from Cambodia to Thailand. I was born in a refugee camp.. then we’re sponsored to America by missionaries. My family are so Thankful. I came to America when I was 5. It’s so heartwarming to see Khmer Americans doing awesome! 🙏🙏 Thank you for the video!
This almost made me cry. My mama has the same story of the Khmer Rouge. After coming to America and having kids, cooking was the one thing that connected her to her roots and memories of her childhood and her parents before the terror. My mama is truly the most selfless, giving and caring human I know. Bless our mothers, all of them. 🇰🇭🙏🏽
Reminds me of the shito (chili sauce) we have in Ghana, Africa. Made of shrimp, some oils, peppers... MAN is it amazing with rice and stew! Love and respect.
Most likely because they are a micro business, or at least this aspect is very small, the amount of views this video will get and then the percentage of people who would buy this would be huge, it would overload what they could possible produce, to the point they would be on back order for some time, which could be negative for their business to have customers waiting for a long time. It takes a long time for a small business to move into factory size even on a small scale to pump out enough product to keep up with demand. But if they are looking at supplying super markets they will eventually need to increase production out of a local kitchen and higher employees and go from there.
@@Baelfyr wrong, if you click on their site you can already order online and they already are in stores. they’re more than capable of supplying the high demand from this videos
This is hitting home for me right now. My mom was actually the main cook for many small local lao/thai restaurants here at home. She recently retired from making food and her cooking is greatly missed. But she was getting over worked and realized she can do it on her own. We’re now as a family starting a small business for her, so she can continue to do what she loves to do. It’s amazing to see our parents live life to the fullest. My parents are too migrant immigrants during the vietnam war. Me and my siblings are now in our mid 30’s and do our very best for our parents to. I love seeing what others want to share, specially family connections. Sook sa bai.
I love that this crisp is so integral to their mom escaping the kmer rouge and also the creation supports to the people who are still in cambodia. Full circle!
WALKED from Cambodia to Thailand. WOW!!! She seems like literally the best mom with awesome kids. Let me go order. I've tried many of different kinds but not one that I really have fell in love with but this sounds like it fits my palette.
Yeah, I need like 5 bottles of that for real. Laoganma has to be a top five condiment (in my opinion lol) and this is right up that same alley for me. Hot garlic just sounds right.
While I'm absolutely addicted to Laoganma spicy chili crisp which has onions, I am definitely open to trying this. Congratulations on your family business.
*This* is good marketing. I'm 22 seconds into the video, I stopped playback, found your website, and ordered a jar. I am a garlic fiend, and I won't have to share this with anyone else in the house as they don't like the heat. :D:D I'm kinda bummed I never heard about you folks when I was living just across the bay (I grew up in the Bay Area, and only left in 2019).
Thanks to my daughter in law Hsingii for introducing me to Mama Teav's on a recent visit to LA. I've tried other 'crunchies' but none match Mama's for the right heat plus a real 'punch' of flavor.
My maternal grandparents, mom, aunt, and uncles came to the US for the same reasons. We lost my grandma a few months back. This video would have put a massive smile on her face.
i saw it at berkeley bowl and gifted to a friend! ill order now for my family! in oakland there are aunties from se asia that is AMAZING and different! thank you! all asian mamas in oakland should bottle it up! i bet we have such rich histories and migration stories and dreams of the home country! 💚🌻💚🌻💚
Thank you for this product !!! This is my kind of chili garlic sauce. The more garlicky, the better. I order directly from your website. I'm hook and I'm on my 5th bottle. I hope one day, I can buy this sauce at my local Walmart !!!
Wow that looks good and was so surprised with the added powdered onion that they did. I love chili garlic and would buy this. Hope they go international.
This product reminds me a lttle of the garlic chili oil my parents make for khao piak sen. Now I want to try this hot garlic chili crisp. And those egg rolls are beautifully wrapped.
I love this!! Thank you for sharing your story. My family is diverse and my cousin mom is from Cambodia. I have learned so much. I love Asian food. I would love to buy some of your chilli oil.
Uuuuggggh the smell in their kitchen must be sooooo heavenly. As a Filipino, this is THE SHIT. Fish sauce is #1 and this might be tied with soy sauce in #2.
Such a dope and inspiring history the mom is a symbol of strength i would buy it just for that alone also I am a condiment ❤lover u had me at spicy n garlicky omg i have to have this 😲
A family work as one ,can take what was built by there parents and show people what being a family with understanding love heart, and to work together to make things happen for everyone.
I love the families you find, hard working people. This question will probably never be answered but being a home food preserver I am curious as to why when they fill the jars, they never wipe the rims, and they do not process the jars in a water bath or pressure canning process. How are these shelf stable and a sellable product processed this way?

I met Christina at a vendor event and tried her chili crisp. Was the crunchiest crispy chili oil I've ever had. Good stuff.,
Always good to see other Cambodians making it!
Absolutely love this stuff. It goes on everything from potato chips to steamed vegetables! 😁💯 Keep it up! Every pantry needs this!

That reminds me of some dishes in Louisiana . Shrimp, oil, spices are huge in Creole/Louisianan cuisine.
why is there no link to purchase this delicious crispy garlic hot oil?

"Garlic is part of my life". i felt that
The tastiest, crunchiest, and fragrant garlic chili crunch out there. Their design and branding is top notch too.
All love here from a Khmer Australian, keep pushing forward and make them dreams a reality. The hot garlic chilli oil looks fire 🔥
I got this at the farmers markett in SF ferry building and it's literally the BEST chili crisp I have EVER had. I'm buying more!
Have you tried lao gan ma? How does it compare? Thanks
The story alone made me want to buy it. This is so beautiful to see… great job guys. 4 bottles on the way🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼
Same here! Also anything with garlic is going to be great!
Also this woman is so impressive and creative! I'm sure she gets it from her mom.

Laoganma isn’t spicy
