Damn, what a debut! I don´t understand the complains of them being a Dissection rip off. Dissection was a huge band for about 8 years, but they got trashed by their own leader and were not able to carry on their great records till today, guess we all know they never will reach their own imperial level of mid 90´s again. This is fucking amazing! These guys are the closest to emulating that dissection sound BY FAR! Some other bands have gotten pretty close but this takes the cake.
although the Drummer has imitated the style of the original playing perfectly, he is even quite a lot better and more tight and accurate than Ole Öhman in those days. Thats really nice, cause i liked his dotted bass drum use and his massive and bombastic Tom Lines. This sounds much better now..

Some riffs sure sound like dissection but the vocals are nothing alike nor is the guitar tone. At some point, old Watain sounds even closer to dissection.

Never heard this band before but since this is their first album, let me go check out their later stuff and see if they developed their own style more or not. The thing about copy cat bands is that the original band being copied is always just better. They were the true pioneers. You can hear the authenticity, the passion and grief in their music and lyrics. With a band like this I just hear a certain sterility of "Let's copy our idol because we lack the maturity and creativity to develop our own style."
