She's such a fucking grounded person. Lizzie reminds us that famous people are just humans with the same rights and needs like us. She is very right about what she said and being uncomfortable in such a situation is the least you could do, once, like I said, Lizzie is a down to earth but most of all, cool person who doesn't need 24/7 lights and fame on her (like many other celebs do)... I wish just love for this woman...

Actually, almost every famous person is a pretty normal person, it just doesn't always come across like that, when, well, we see them in the context of a "red carpet" (what a weird concept, like a real-life pedestal we put people on), or on a late-night talk show in front of a huge audience who laugh at every joke
Here's a compilation of tons of interviews with very famous people (Leonardo DiCapro, Sandra Bullock, Tom Holland, etc), they're all clearly just pretty normal people, all of them are like "This whole "being famous" thing is super weird, anyone who gets used to it and thinks they deserve it or whatever is insane" czcams.com/video/p-dgLceWqtA/video.html
Not that there aren't also insane people who become famous, like Kanye or whatever. Although I think in his case, while the fame probably made it worse, it's not fundamentally about the fame with him, he just has some issues in general. And we tend to not really look at normie famous people, like Sandra Bullock, when thinking about the question of "Are famous people basically just like you and me?", we tend to think of Justin Bieber, and Kanye, etc, who give us a bit of a selection bias, we look more at kind of crazy people than at normal people

I work at the airport in check-in counters and often times I come across celebrities. Although I am happy to check them in, I would never take photos with them or autographs. I understand that their privacy is getting invaded enough and all they wanna have is have a peaceful journey like the rest of the passengers. My humble request to you all, if you spot a celebrity please don't lose yourself and run behind them for a picture or anything, you never know what they're going through at that moment. And I really feel pity because not everyone gets to shop at a grocery store peacefully. Heck I even saw an actress getting late at boarding gates and risked missing her flight because people were apparently gathering around and taking pictures and not giving her way.
And she can't be rude. Because then the next day's newspaper will read out 'ACTRESS OF THE BLOCKBUSTER YELLED AT PASSENGERS AT THE AIRPORT.'

"You're so lucky" is only annoying if it's coming from a layman. If a long-struggling actor finally gets their big break and achieves success, and another long-struggling actor tells him "you're so lucky," it means that he's fortunate to have gotten a break, because it's something most actors never achieve, regardless of talent or effort. However, when someone who has no idea what it's like to be a struggling actor says "you're so lucky," it discounts all the years of hard work that actor has put in to be ready when that big break reveals itself. With rare exception, there is no such thing as an overnight success in show business. Most actors that seemingly come out of nowhere and are suddenly big stars, they've been grinding it out for years, sometimes decades.

I can imagine the struggle, of the " oh you so lucky" because you still work hard, and you feel like you can't complain because then you ungrateful, but at the same time you do understand that your life is kinda objectively less "straining" I think is the right word, but at the same time toughness, anxiety, and stress is something that evolves and devolves based on what the person does mostly in its life. a rich kid doesn't really grasp/appreciates the difference between his life and a poor kid starving for bread(of course that's extremes but the concept works on the entire scale), I think you cant expect him to grasp it fully, just try to imagine and understand as much as possible.
humans adapt to their environment and fill their entire range from happiness and joy to struggle and overwhelmingness into the life they have, no matter what life that is. different people have the range fitted on the scale of universal emotion differently, and the range changes across life, but the change and the moment are always subjective to the person own life not the life of the avg man/female.
so I think best way for an actor to handle this(as not an actor advice) is to accept that you are lucky, but learn to let yourself have moments of weakness because you need to understand that just because you in a better position in life doesn't mean that stress doesn't apply for you, personally quirks almost always overcomes the objective place in life you have.

The sad thing is not as many would invoke it as you think. Scandals and rumors is how they stay relevant when they’re not working back-to-back huge successful projects. When celebrities stay too private for too long, people eventually stop giving a shit, and then nobody wants to hire them because suddenly there’s more people much more popular than them. Look at Brittany Spears; is she really an exceptionally talented act? No. Is she more talented and attractive than Christina Agulara or Mandy Moore, her competition at the height of her career? No. So why did she stay so relevant? Because she was an absolute train wreck for a while and the paps caught every second of it. The other two were good quiet private girls. Paparazzi attention is like paying your dues for the celebrity club; it’s a cost you don’t always want to pay, and it would be nice if the “bill collectors” would moderate themselves and be more respectful of your limits, but you know that if you DON’T pay and lose your membership, you lose your job.

I have to say, having worked in Malibu at a grocery store for two years I saw a plethora of different celebrities. And it’s a strange experience to see them out in public and not make them feel uncomfortable by staring or trying to start a conversation with them as you’re scanning a cart full of their groceries. It’s debilitating at times, because you want to be polite and thoughtful but at the same time your mind is telling you over and over again that this is not normal and neither are they. And yet, when you see a celebrity being publicly bombarded by a tourist with very little respect for another person’s personal space, it forces you to remind yourself how often this must happen for them whenever they go out and try to publicly function as a normal human. How the media portrays these actors and film industry people as something otherworldly is actually rather sad because in turn it makes them to be something less than human. It’s funny, because at first you think about how different they are and how special they must feel because everyone stares at them or admires them from afar and how that actually makes you feel some sort of resentment towards them, for virtually no real reason at all, but then they approach the counter at the checkout stand and form a conversation with you, not out of some practiced kindness, but because they seldom have the opportunity to have a conversation with another person who doesn’t desire anything from them in return after the conversation is over. I never thought I’d feel such empathy for these people, but in the end, it’s funny how quickly you can forget that that’s exactly what they are. Whether or not how famous someone is, it’s how we tend to determine their purpose or place in life as a whole. And whether or not they have millions of dollar attached to their name or have had success in the past, some of these celebrities I’ve met from working at that grocery store were some of kindest souls I’ve ever come across, truly.

She is so wise and grounded. I adore her. I would love to meet her. She seems so chill and I would definitely be fine with a small conversation at the produce section of a grocery store and I would gladly leave her alone after that. Lol Aww. On a serious note, it’s unfortunate that others don’t always respect her privacy.

Yes, it's true. As the old saw goes, every rose has its thorn. On the whole, however, I think people who are famous (as opposed to infamous) are lucky to get to do what they love and be recognized for it. It probably won't last, so I hope they enjoy it (despite the occasional unfortunate episodes of creepiness).

I think the Pros still greatly outweigh the Cons. But yeah, it is vitally important for a society to understand both sides of the coin. Because at the end of the day we're all in this crazy world together. And some of us are more well known than others which simultaneously sets them up for great rewards and/or terrible consequences.

I have met celebs in the past and got pics with for small fee at cons, even chat some while they wait fo anything so it was cool. they are people like us , they just are famous cause on shows or movies. there is a time and place for everything, but give them space and when possible they give u a few mins to chat and by chance a pic with if any. show u support their work and be chill so then they dont mind chat u anytime , just give space and cool about things.

Ehhh, kinda feel like someone saying to her or any other big celeb that they’re lucky isn’t a big deal. Wouldn’t piss me off or anything like that. It’s definitely true, and actors who embrace that are just the coolest! They get paid big bank (by which I really mean it as a blessing of financials ofc) to entertain people and make them smile! Not a bad day job! Beats being a server lolzz.

    • @mickesmanymovies
      @mickesmanymovies Před 4 lety +1

I think the point she's making is that "you're so lucky" kind of implies that the actor in question just had all those fantastic parts in all those fantastic movies fall into their lap as they sat around doing nothing... And that it ignores the sometimes mind numbingly hard work and often long time struggles to get to that point.
I can't think of a suitable substitute, but "you're so lucky" clearly doesn't send the right message.

When a person show has a degree in criminal justice is digging a ditch because they can't find work they put in time for school and they have diligently searched for work she's a person who spends several hours a day getting to do with a love making millions of dollars to them it absolutely is lucky regardless of hard work and preparation because many people put hard work in preparation of the things that they do and never achieve their goal the person here before said if you're an actor you have the right to say you're so lucky because they work so hard and preparing their craft and never achieve fame but what about a person who goes to school puts in the time searches for the job and never achieves what they were so hard for. I call bull crap on only an actor can say you're so lucky because there's a lot of people out there that work very hard put in the time put in the schooling and never obtain what they are looking for out of life. I've been very blessed to obtain what I do not deserve I believe I was very blessed though I'm nowhere near rich have a good family we're not starving and I wouldn't trade that for anything in the world I don't feel like anybody is more blessed than me personally regardless even though I would love to have a big house a big car in the pool is paid for in plenty of money in the bank I wouldn't trade it for what I have so just a statement my point of view.
