Searching for the perfect (original patina) bodied '54 pickup for this build, the owner discovered this truck in Chico, in mid-state California in a dry environment. The vehicle must have seen just light duty for the bed sides, tailgate and the body are remarkably straight. The exterior and interior patina paint is the real deal and is not fauxd.
The truck features a mild custom top-chop by Ian Roussel of the television series, Full Custom Garage. The custom work performed can be seen on the video, Full Custom Garage, episode "Bill's 54". All glass is new with the wind-wings removed. Power windows function with the original window cranks. New Bear-Claw latches are installed on the doors. The truck sports tilt steering with the original steering wheel, all new wiring plus LED bulbs. A new fuel tank is installed behind the seat. New chrome bumpers and grill pieces are installed with 18” rims and tires.
The body sits on a new TCI frame and suspension, coil over shocks with four-wheel disc brakes and rack and pinion steering. Power is supplied by a 350 Chevy V/8 paired to a 700 R4 transmission back to a Curry 3.25 rear-end The engine and trans have approximately 11,500 miles run time. The build is new with 1500 to 2000 miles max. The truck sits and sounds right with a mild dual exhaust system. If you are seeking a real head-turner 3100 that performs, you have located your vehicle.
