It took me an awful long time to realize what was going on with Spirit-Caller Snail. I didn't notice the health bar disparity, and thought 'Snail is a funny name to give your kid'
yeah I think I would have assumed the health bar thing was a bug

Horse makes dragons wide range attacks so much easier to dodge.
I fight every boss on foot, the horse is a liability.

you are fighting 5 to 10 meters tall gods, there is not such a thing as cheese, only leveling the playing field. if the game lets you do it, then you are playing it as intended, that is why Dark Souls is though but fair.

It's like camping in Counterstrike. Whole team's dead, by all rights it's your loss but you hole up in a tight corridor where they have no choice but to pile in at the only entrance and get picked off before they can set their sights. Cheese.
You can say it's as intended because it hasn't been patched out, but it's still using loopholes in game mechanics that developers have chosen to keep in. In rare cases even, they're technologically restricted and can't adjust pathing or boundaries or whatever it may be. Giant cat can't fit through man door. Well the AI isn't smart enough to lure out Day9, so he can cheese out the win.
@@Polydueces except they could 100% do something to not let Sean cheese, but that is not what they want. because in fromsoft games you choose the difficulty of the game through gameplay choices. their games are hard, but fair, meaning its always mechanically consistent, it gives you the tools to overcome the challenge, if you want to do it through skill or smarts its your choice, and the game won't stop you from doing that unless it negatively affects the player experience. hell, I bet there are a lot of design choices they made with the expectations players would "cheese" and then feel smart for finding a solution to that problem. I mean... do you REALLY think they didn't know you could cut the tail of the bridge drake with a bow to get a super strong sword that, curiously, could be easily wielded early game even though it is a late game fight ?
narratively you are worse than the underdog, you are a flea riding in the underdog's butt. but somehow someone decided to make you immortal and give you a knife, and now they are asking you to kill an elephant with it. you could stand in front of it and ask the elephant for a honorable duel, but he will just step on you, because you are a flea, you don't matter, there is no honor in fighting you, there is hardly any honor in this cold uncaring world. so no one cares if you don't play fair, its all about overcoming impossible odds.
