Omg those high notes, such a explosion of sound. Amazing. Like people said, if she holds the mic more close to her mouth probably the speakers would have exploded.
My heart is broken today. Dolores O’Riordan has passed on. She was the voice of my generation, Generation X. I was in college in the Nineties and training to go into the Army. I wanted to serve like my father and grandfather before me. They had their war songs in World War II and Vietnam and in the Nineties, we had “Zombie”. Dolores wrote Zombie when she was Twenty-two years old and it was amazing that at a young age she understood warfare enough to write about it. She was like a fiery Valkyrie singing in a thunderous voice at the top of her lungs, like a young child screaming at her parents to stop fighting. We all knew what she was saying, trying to get the elders to stop the madness. “in your head, in your head they are fighting-with their tanks and their bombs and their bombs and their guns, in your head they are crying”. “Another mothers’ breaking heart is taking over, It’s the same old theme since 1916”. My generation like others before hoped that the war would stop, but it goes on. That song and the Voice of Dolores will live forever. Every time a new generation comes of age and questions why the world is consumed with war they will listen to “Zombie”. They will know that this young woman from Ireland stood up and screamed in the faces of the masters who rule the world and told them that they are tearing our world apart. Dolores O’Riordan performed all over the world, from Ireland to the U.S. to Argentina to France to Poland. Today I am also infuriated and sad because the pain and depression that she suffered from was caused by the abuse she suffered as a child. Whatever her hardships or pain in life today she is suffering no more. She was an Irish Angel placed on this earth and now she has gone to live with the other Angels. She will be missed but also remembered for the important message she brought to we mere mortals.
Nice words Jake very well put. Zombie was written by Dalores in 1993 in the aftermath and protest of the IRA bomb in Warrington, England were 2 innocent kids were killed. The father of one of the kids was only informed about the meaning of the song the day Dalores passed, he had no idea the song represented his son until now. He was truly in awe of it, Ireland and the world have lost an icon and will be greatly missed. RIP.
In 6th grade The Cranberries had a free concert in D.C. and I tried to get out of school to go but my parents wouldn't take me. I never got to see them after that either. I was never in love with Dolores, but now as I'm older and have experienced enough bullshit, I feel the music on a much deeper level, and see how real of an artist she was/is compared to so many fakers out there.
Sorry,.that song does not suit her voice.... It's a nice stab at another artist song but makes me cringe a bit. Probably nice if in studio recording after a good bit of practice
She really was a blessing to all of us real music lovers. Her tonality and vocal control is just magical. It's almost as if she stepped right out of Middle Earth. Such a wonder. I can only hope and pray she made it to the other side.
I would suggest that you fools watch Lindsey Buckingham sing lead during the 90's, LIVE. Far better quality, far better range. Your comments are both false and a joke.
This song fills my ears, and instantly I am transported back in time… This hard seat, the rhythmic thump of the train, and my empty stomach all fade away. Beautiful!! … So many thanks, sending you peace hope and prayers - Cricket

Whatever her hardships or pain in life today she is suffering no more. She was an Irish Angel placed on this earth and now she has gone to live with the other Angels. She will be missed but also remembered for the important message she brought to we mere mortals.
She had a gift I think we all agree not many singers got a voice like her .
Very well said, Jake. I hope you copy and email this to Rolling Stone.
RIP.
well said rip
Well said, I didn't realise how her music had touched me until now. She was the voice of GenX but plenty in GenY grew up with her too
Its been 20 years that I've been in love with Dolores and her magic voice
michael muzzu Congratulations, you're not alone.
feel your pain.
Gotta fight me first, bro!
TheLance3185 Got my TICKET for September!
I've always loved this song & her voice with it sounds amazing. She has such an angelic tone.
Sorry,.that song does not suit her voice.... It's a nice stab at another artist song but makes me cringe a bit. Probably nice if in studio recording after a good bit of practice
Thank you for your beautiful songs. RIP
Just love that unassuming little face she makes when she's putting the mic back on the stand at the end of the song. What a voice.
That's a smirk my friend and I love it!
@@chevychase3103 Yes, that was the "try to do better than that" smirk.
Glad someone else spotted that. Just a little expression of 'That worked'.
Astonishing performance.
This makes my hairs stand on end. Extraordinary, And so true to her Irishness.
Her waves crashing here on the beaches of Chicago tonight. So powerful!
Delores takes this song to another level.. Just beautiful beyond. She works the Mike to perfection... 😪
She really was a blessing to all of us real music lovers. Her tonality and vocal control is just magical. It's almost as if she stepped right out of Middle Earth. Such a wonder. I can only hope and pray she made it to the other side.
Watching this brought tears to my eyes. We miss you Dolores!
Ef yeah. Tears and goosebumps! What a voice, it digs right into your soul.
I love how everybody is watching her through the glass. She was amazing.
Incredible 🙏🏻 listened to this version of the song so many times since discovering it, it’s truly amazing
So beautiful I cried...
This version of this song always give me the chills. You're very missed, Dolores! RIP
Perfection ...miss u dolores...fly high beautiful xxxx
She sang a chorus that took a hand full of people to pull off on the original. Amazing cover!
Singing a chorus solo and more beautifully than Stevie Nicks, Christine McVie and Lindsey Buckingham is quite a feat.
I would suggest that you fools watch Lindsey Buckingham sing lead during the 90's, LIVE. Far better quality, far better range. Your comments are both false and a joke.
@@bbmtge They fired him,,,,
Sorry but no.....
Sorry, she may have a good voice but this version is awful
This is the most incredible thing I ever heard.
You are a legend i agrée
Beautiful...
the little somersault in dolores's voice.... i mean, this is is pure beauty. we will remember her in our hearts.
Klaus Toth.
Jes I treuly do it still hurts..
😇🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼❤❤❤🌹❤🙏🏼
She took an already difficult song to sing and multiplied it times 10 including the harmonies performed by several vocalists. Amazing talent
Ikr
Fucking amazing
I never even knew this was a sad song until I heard her sing it.
She did nothing of the sort. A terrible performance.

This song fills my ears, and instantly I am transported back in time…
This hard seat, the rhythmic thump of the train, and my empty stomach all fade away. Goddess ,I love these Sennheiser headphones! …I feel so moved my eyes have already started to leak. And when I open them, the woman across from me flashes a smile of empathy in response.
..
Beautiful!!
…
So many thanks, sending you peace hope and prayers - Cricket
Wow just wow, always loved Stevie Nicks but this is just as amazing, RIP Dolores you were an angel amongst us for your 46 years on this earth x
I wish I could like this more than once...
I cant quit listening to this. She completely made it her own. This is classic
she's such a beautiful singer, i'm literally tearing up how beautiful she sings.
Absolutely stunning. RIP Beautiful
Talk about making a song your own. Wow. Now that is what I call a cover. Everything she sang she brought such a deep chord of emotion too. Sensational.
I love how you can hear that beautiful Irish accent when she sings
British Critics originally criticized her accent when she was signing as they didn't like it or couldn't understand her, she stuck with her accent anyway and made it big! RIP
Yes I love that Irish accent.
Joe Doe no they didn't 🤣.. she had tremendous success in the UK .. & who even cares what 'critics' say anyway LOL..
@@jasonsamuels3522 I know, what a load of rubbish he wrote 🤣 just absolute nonsense
Omg!!! Dear Lord, you got yourself a lucky angel. That was amazing and thank you so much. Angelic voice. Rock your house, that voice can. Love it!!! Brand new and proud fan. Delores RIP 🙏
Look at the admiration in the background . ! Says it all about this girl . Xx
👍
I've never missed someone I didn't know so much.
Wow, she was absolutely beautiful, and she's singing a 70's classic! RIP. She was my age. :(
Stunning performance, as always was ❤
She brought her unique voice and style to everything she touched. A great loss!
