  • These five shoes are being ranked according to how good they are when it comes to gravel cycling and bikepacking on gravel and double track. Of course this spills over to those riders looking for a great pedaling efficient shoe on XC and even trail.
    The Leatt DBX 3.0 Flat shoes, Fiveten Freerider, Altra Torin 4, Fiveten Slueth (DLX and standard), and the Bontrager Flatline shoes. A Brief comparison is also made to Bontrager Rally a clipless pedal shoe.

    I really like your review format. Having several shoes to compare gives viewers options and reasons for choosing a particular shoe or not.

    how's the sleuth DLX after trying it out for some time? i'm torn between the sleuth and dlx one.

    • @WildOutdoorLiving
      @WildOutdoorLiving  Před 2 lety +2

      Both are really nice. The DLX feels and looks like a more premium shoe. It is more water resistant but it is also noticeable less breathable. Sometimes after a hot day my feet are uncomfortably sweaty.
      The standards do not have this breathability issue and have molded to my feet better while the DLX have maintained their stiffness and shape better.
      As a result I like having both and wear both regularly.

      @@WildOutdoorLiving sweet, i live in a warm little island so i'll be going for the sleuths. do they run true to size or do i go half a size down?

    Adidas Terrex swift r2 gtx = stiff sole, grippy on pedals/terrain, toe protection, waterproof and dry fast,

    How wide is the bontrager shoe?

    • @WildOutdoorLiving
      @WildOutdoorLiving  Před 3 měsíci +1

      I would say they are wider than average through the heel and the midfoot and are probably average width in the toebox. The FiveTen Sleuth (Adidas Samba) is narrower for reference.

    Through me off giving the running shoe a 3 and it slips lol not good for any kind of pedal safety

    • @WildOutdoorLiving
      @WildOutdoorLiving  Před 3 lety +1

      All of these shoes are quite grippy compared to other options, it just isn’t as grippy as some others on the list. Certainly not unsafe. That said a big part of grip for any shoe comes down to which pedal is being used.

      Same! I'm curious about their bmx shoes but it doesn't seem worth it to pay nearly $100 for vans
