My band played this for our Halloween Concert. We faked some lightning at the beginning and turned off the lights to simulate a power outage, and we used phones/headlights to read our music. It was really awesome and the audience loved it. We had a blast playing it too. I recommend it for anyone, it's a great piece.
+xXVideoGamerXx DAS GREAT
You had a “blast”? In what way?
That would be amazing if my band did that
why is your band so much cooler than mine wtf
you guys had a halloween concert??!? my christian school could never 😩 we still practice this song in class but we're not allowed to perform it for a concert because it glorifies witchcraft
I got the oboe solo please pray for me
Fuckappi rip
bro it easy as pie
I did tooo!!!
Oml yes my band instructor told me he wants to take this to contest next year and I am the only oboe... oh god no pressure right?
I like how this is just oboe relating to one another’s trouble I’m an oboe too
Got to play this with Mr. Standridge directing. Lots of fun.
Riley McNay Me too! In practice for all state at least
ugh i wish!!
Same here! In 2014 all district honors band
No one cares
Everyone has these cool parts they play, and I'm here like, "I PLAY THE TUBA PART. LOVE ME PLEASE."
same xD Haha the bass clarinet part gets pretty boring
Lol I play bassoon. I feel that it kinda got left out until the last minute
haha same xD bass clarinet
ACE of SPADES The bass clarinet part is actually pretty good
+ACE of SPADES yea I actually just switched to alto bass clarinet which is pretty similar
Gotta love those runs on Flute
Hellish Gallop and oboe, mind you
Ooof I knowwww
I played the synthesizer part on this song when I did it in band, and let me tell you, it was the edgiest thing I ever played on a synthesizer.
Listening to this 5 years after playing it, I miss playing this piece so much because of how much emotion my band directors told us to put into it, the piece is absolutely wonderful and thank you Mr. and Mrs. Meeks. RIP Mr. Meeks, I miss you sir, thank you both for teaching us this piece and showing us that we have so much more potential than we've ever had.
Im playing this piece in 2 days!
My band just got this piece. It's so pretty and haunting.
A Klim same
A Klim same here
Same. We just got it today. It sucks that we can't play it at the concert because the concert is in 2 weeks from today and like I said, we just got it today. :(
Same! Except we skipped the oboe solo and went straight to the part where clarinets just play open G the whole time
A Klim I’m getting it now
When the synthesizer plays that harpsichord patch, I always get chills down my spine, because it's just that good!
For four years since I had graduated from senior high and the band, this song still reminds me of the wonderful memories at that time.
5:06 to the end is my favorite part of this amazing piece. Our symphonic band played this and our snare drum really got into it he spun in a circle during this part
We played this song in high school but little did my director know that we were going to play at a Christian college 😂
Hahaha!🤣
Our 8th grade wind ensemble class is playing this soon. I play bass drum and the castanets. The person who plays the chimes can't learn his part :c
Coeva have you guys heard of Brave Sprint
Coeva it's exactly the same situation for me
Dude that sounds really lame, maybe you could take their part lol
im planing this tonight :D wish me luck im the triangle and suspended
LETS GO PERCUSSIONIST!!! my band played it last year and it was fucking great!!! also i was wondering if other schools percussion section is hectic as all fucking balls
Boutta play this bad boy for our halloweeen concert Mrs.Kroth keeps yelling at me for the loud trombone part
Hey Randall u may not remember me but I was a french horn in the middle school honor band at UAH
I played this in highschool as a percussionist! I got to play the chimes part (that sounds like the clock striking the hour) and it was awesome!! Super fun!!
I played f horn 2 for all region jr high honor band. This peice is so much fun and mildly difficult. Probably one of my favorite pieces i have played so far
Oh, the memories of playing this piece back in 8th grade during our spring concert. I play the trumpet, and this piece was amazingly fun to play. Can't believe that was over 2 years ago, I still remember it like it was yesterday. Love this music
Shelbie Mixon me too, i play 1st part, and people want more harder music suprisingly, so we are going for a grade 4 this year, 8th grade
Awesome! I think my favorite part was either Hour 2 (because of the eerie peacefulness of the music) or Hour 4 (because of the exhilarating speed and familiar tune)
Mine was near the end, where the bass drum got to be really loud(I was bass drum).
Shelbie Mixon This comment describes me and my feelings about this exactly. TRUMPETS FOREVER
NovaInc. 🎺YES THOUGH 🎺
My band is playing this!!!!!!
🤯mine too! Are there any clarinet parts?
Right now, I believe I would love to play anything by Randall Standridge, my band is currently playing ruckus and it's amazing.
+Mya Brava My band is playing Ruckus to lol
I remember playing this a year ago. I miss it! Mr, Hendry, PLEASE let us play this song again (even though he probably isn't ever going to read this)!
My band just got this piece. I have to say it's my favourite piece I've ever played so far! I enjoy it so much.
I need to recommend this piece to my high school band! It's amazing, beyond amazing! We're already playing Ruckus, which is equally as awesome!
I want my band to play all of our music by him. Last year we got adrenaline engines and this year we got steel and randall is a great composer
Looking back on this song, I can say it helped me learn so much. I played it sophomore year and now I'm a senior. I'm the only oboe player in my band.
Loved playing this for band!!!! been in band for 6 years and still managed to get last chair, lucky for me the trombones only had 2 parts (also i was last chair because i was in colorguard for our 2015 marching band season, the season before i was playing in marching band and was first chair)
My middle school concert band did this years ago and it's still to this day my favorite thing I ever played. I remembered the name after like 6 years. I don't play anymore but man I love this.
Played mallets all by myself through this. Its so much fun
Hi!!! Ummm, five years later and this is still one of my absolute favorites of all time. :)
Just stopping by to go down memory lane. I was in the District Honor band you conducted in southern Missouri :) best song i have ever played .
I had the honor to play this piece while being directed by Mr. Standridge!
I am playing the synthesizer for this piece and I am completely in love with it.
My symphonic band played this and it was amazing :)
playing this for our first concert.. the poor freshman :sob:
My middle school honor band was about to do this but we decided on Abracadabra. I really want to do this piece.
Abracadabra by Ticheli.
I played Abracadabra in 9th grade. Love that piece.
Emily Dimiceli OMG ABRACADABRA YASSS
We’re playing this song for my band and I play the chimes (clock) part and it’s so much fun! Absolutely love this piece
My friend, Lydia’s school played this song for a band concert! It sounded AMAZING!!!❤️❤️❤️
I just got this piece and I'm a clarinet oh my it's very intimidating but fun
Played this my freshman year of high school and my band loved it! Now I’m a senior and we played it again today (october 30) and there was a fire drill out of nowhere halfway through the First Hour. thanks for such a great memory, Mr. Standridge
My band is currently learning to play this. Excellent piece of music. :)
I played this song a week ago. I MISS IT SO MUCH
We played this last year at harmony grove with mr Taylor and it was a blast. I love doing your shows!!
I was apart of the honors band in Mo that performed this piece with Mr standridge himself. I felt so cool.
We used to have a doorbell that was that played this. When my son was little he'd ring it Everytime we came home & sing "We Are Home Now, We Are Home Now"
Little did our neighbors now, I come from a long line of witches, I thought it was great 😆
Learning this piece for Fall concert I LOVE it
Mr. Standridge conducted this for us at District 10 Honors band, it was great meeting him.
I remember playing this piece for our District Band Concert a few months ago and Standridge was our conductor! I played most of the extra auxiliary parts in the background. Great piece!
getting to play the chime part in the 7th grade changed my life and the way I looked at music forever
I so wish I could be playing this!I'll be looking up the flute sheet music!:DD
I played the chimes for this song and it was the best thing I’ve done
I get to play tuba. The low notes are glorious.
this is so cool i really want to play this piece
I keep finding more of your music and I am falling more and more in love with it. Thanks for the amazing work
Andon , Thank you!
Randall Standridge I really want to play more of your music I will be in a 8th grade band and we will be playing grade 3+ hopefully we get to play some of your music
Randall Standridge may I ask what insturment you chose when you first started playing?
My marching band is playing this for our 2016 season!
How is your band doing so far?
We are doing really good! We got a 78.15 at our last competition (two weeks ago), but our competition that would have been last Saturday was cancelled, due to Hurricane Matthew. We have a competition Saturday, the state prelims the next week. It's been great so far!
My marching band came across another one playing The Witching Hour, and the ones in symphonic band started geeking out when we heard them practicing before our previous competition, since we were playing that in sit-down band.
What band did you see?
I don't know what band it was, but it is in Ohio. The two times we saw them for sure was a comp at Kings hs and at Lebanon Ohio.
I want to play this so much... last year I played imaginarium and I've love his music ever since
This is honestly one of my favorite songs
i love this piece so much randall
gael gg805 thank you

My band is playing this for a Halloween concert this Thursday.
My middle school band just got this piece and we are all so excited to play it! I am excited to play it but not as excited to learn piccolo for it xD Last year we played Come Thou Fount of Every Blessing and overall you are just an amazing composer!!
i love the alto sax part, i play the alto and we are playing this song at are concert cant wait it is turning out amazing
+Kiya Dahl my favorite part is the last movement of the song
Doing this piece for the OHS wind ensemble tomorrow at our concert :D
I loved playing this in 7th grade.
love it
Absolute masterpiece
I will take that as a HUGE compliment. It's one of my favorites of my own as well.
Mr. Standridge, we just got Adrenaline Engines today for our spring concert. I kind of wish we got something different like Imaginarium though. We were going to play Second Suite in F by Gustav Holst but our band director kind of gave up since she is leaving and everyone thought it was too hard but I wanted the challenge.
4:10 I have been working on this by myself as a flute player and I find this to be the hardest part of the entire thing for me. The rest I can play with ease but its just this part that gets me. I'm pretty sure it's the chromatic notes and the speed of it that throws me off a lot and this has been my go to spot to practice in this
I got the chimes for this in 7th grade, that was pretty cool.
Great piece! I love the themes in this song!
This piece reminds me of Hiroshima/Nagasaki Requiem, from The Atomic Bomb Movie
Best... song... ever...
AYYY I LOVE THAT WOOD BLOCK
I played the chimes on this song!
This is like, the perfect song for Halloween
For some reason whenever we play this song, I get so scared at the beginning that I can’t even listen or play. Lol, idk why.
just got done playing this song
I was Crash
my band is playing this at our competition in bush gardens
I play the baritone saxophone and I am in love with my part
I play the timpani for this piece and it’s sounds so fire 🔥

We just got this and we only have me on bells and our lead drummer on chimes (the other 2 drummers don’t know what to do lolz)
My band is playing this, this year
Then your band director has excellent taste.
