You may find some valuable information in this video but I have changed my mind a lot on how its best done. To learn good Corks on tramp please check this video out. czcams.com/video/k2l_pl9Ubbk/video.html To understand why you may need to work a lot on your set to make a great Cork and also why Morks should be avoided check out my Double cork tutorial: czcams.com/video/32em513qNds/video.html . I hope to remake this video as soon as possible.

I have had so many problems with this trick, my best bit of advice i was given is to not think about making the cork rotation. All a cork is is spinning with the axis of the jump. Still lean forward and make sure you really pop and then slowly with a T bar set take your arms towards axis of the jump. You can do this more and more each time and feel yourself do a flat axis 7, then a slight wobble and then a full cork. This was the only thing that worked for me.

I don’t have these down quite yet, but I think I’m at a breakthrough point. I saw some kid who was trying to learn them today on a 35 footer. He was mimicking the torso rotation and I told him to send it. He ended up going way too fast and landed flat after at least a 900 pencil rotation. 😬Surprised he walked away. My main takeaway - The torso rotation is pretty insignificant if you aren’t pulling your legs up and grabbing.
I landed my first 720 with a safety grab today and I can already see how helpful it is to pull your legs up and carve a little on the takeoff. Next time, I will try grabbing at 270, like the guys suggests in this video. I think if you are grabbing, your body will start taking the easiest path to a full 720 - which actually means corking. Oh, and I’m using a much smaller jump (20-25 ft)
A cork on skis is different than one on the tramp because of the weight of the skis and the angles of the takeoff & landing. So I think the secret is to just focus on carved 720s with grabs and forget about corking.
Then again, I’m no expert - just a guy who is learning.

I would say you're teaching how to throw a Mork. (Misty cork). I have been taught to (relative to the direction I'm throwing) drop my inside shoulder and raise my outside hip. That will throw you into the backflip, rearward rotation a true cork requires. This has you tucking, and throwing down, as you would a misty. I have an awful habit of throwing the way demonstrated in the video that pros have attempted to help me break. You can feel when you're on the foward, tucked, axis versus a rearward, open axis. Can we see a tutorial the latter way? Thanks.

    • @BruceOldham

You can do it that way man, but generally that is an awful way to set the cork. This is because you dip you head around to quick and you will loss a strong and proper set (which is everything)! With out a strong proper set you have a hard time getting grabs and being comfortable with the axis,,, also if you ever decided to do a double cork. and you. don't have the proper set, it likely won't go well ;) Trust me dawg, I spent a year re learning my corks just to do double 😄 hope that helps man!

This is a bio and not a cork. A cork is technically when you lean back and over your shoulder considerably doing and over flip. A bio is where you are leaning under like and under flip to start the rotation and then bring it around. Common misconception but still a cool tutorial! your body movement in a cork is going up and bringing your hips out and leaning in to more of a backflip, what you're doing here is leaning under kind of like a front flip but bringing it around on the cork axis. You should be leaning back and more into a backflip then bringing it around on a corked axis. Sorry to break it to ya but that's not a cork, and more of a bio or a Mork. (Misty cork, or misty 7 on a cork axis)

Lol you set the cork 7 way to hard on snow, you should not be looking behind you before you take of. The cork 7 on the trampoline you guys were doing were not proper corks. My coach calls them morks, notice how they set on the trampoline almost like a switch cork 7 (misty 7 going backwards). Most of the explanations in this video is helpful, but the form is terrible. I would recommend going to a gym and get professional help if you would like to learn to cork. You shouldn't try cork 7s immediately on snow TRY IT ON A AUR BAG OR WATER RAMP. I had cork 7's down on tramps so I tried it on snow and ate shit to my face, and got 24 stitches. Seek for professional help

Does daddy pay for your coach or are you just independently rich and able to afford a coach and water ramps?

May be different in Switzerland but this isn’t how we coach these in Canada. This is an improper axis and set. This is coming from an air 4 ski coach, no bullshit here.

Too bad thats a misty 7 which tends to happen when your throw forwards and down instead of up and back .

before making a tutorial please know how to do the trick properly. Thanks. That way the 62000 people who watched this won't learn how not to do a cork.

Thanks for your valid opinion. At the time I really thought this is the easiest way to get started learning corks. It is also the most common way people are doing it corks on skis. I was watching the dew tour final the other day I noticed almost every pro there has more or less a morky set for their doubles these days. It is only Gus Kenworthys cork 7 tutorial thats competing with this tutorial and he has a morky set too.
How ever as my morky set was holding me back learning dub cork 1080s I learned to appreciated a good old T set with chest up. How ever I am planning on remaking this tutorial and have deep look at getting a perfect set rather than an easy to do cork 7. Until then I´ve added a link to a better video on how to do it on a tramp. Cheers, Jens

Honestly I am very impressed with your response, seeming as how my initial comment was quite douchey. I would really like to see people setting back harder and popping their hips forward. It took me a long time to learn the T set, chest up, hips forward method but its almost essential for the dub 10.

Haha thanks and yes you started of a little strong but you deserved an answer non the less. Did you see our two double cork tutorials? Check em out I ramble on a lot about the two "methods" and you can see how I struggle on the tramp and snow but gets the dub 12 in the end.
