DeForest Gump! Don't delimb yourself with that contraption guys. I'm glued to this build. Kinda like watching the A-Team when I was kid.
way to make a fully functioning machine out of scrap parts, simply genius. way to go guys
Thanks
It's going to work or blow apart! I'm watching.
don't forget the tile plow
Hang in there, MBTS! I had a wise man tell me something very prophetic when I was a very young man. His words were, "It's very hard for a hard-working man to soar like an eagle when he is working for a turkey..." ROTFLMBO 🤪😂🤣🤪
I fully enjoy watching all y'all's antics! Thanks for sharing them with us!!!
Frankensaw, and paint it “man behind the scene” yellow so everyone stays far away!
Maybe needs a backup beeper that activated as soon as the go-juice gets applied. Then train the bystanders that, “When you hear this sound…”. Kinda like the Cold War era nuclear bomb drills. Findya a desk and get under it! 🤠
Make sure the spinning cutting direction causes the blade nut to tighten in case the cotter pin ever shears and the blade can't fly off killing everyone in the area! Lock washers or Locktite on all that stuff in a seriously vibrating area trying constantly to loosen hardware...
Man, if that blade flies off it could be really bad!
The hydraulic motor should get a bypass so it can spin freely in one direction to avoid the abrupt stops, which course pressure spikes and can loosen your nut.
They are left hand thread for that reason. Like a weed wacker head
I had the name “limb reaper” pop in my head while watching 😁 just a play on the grim reaper.. nice job as always.
Good old American home engineering at its best. Well done.
'what the hell were you thinking' is the perfect name.
It looks really good so far Mike and Aaron.
lol
Mad Mac is an abbreviation of Mike and Aaron Dream MAchine extension.
Or is that already a thing?
Hey Mike I think you and The Man Behind the Scenes. Should call that thing The Angry Beaver. Have a decal made of a beaver with big teeth with a mad look on his face tearing up a tree.😂
Aaron, I'm so glad you got that on video because the only time we see DP with a tool in his hand is when he's handing it to you😂
I have to say this about this series is the entertainment value is worth the price of admission 😂😂😂
Terrifyingly awesome you guys!! I can't wait to see it in action!
** The Delimbinator **
Good to see the star of the show MBTS has all the proper employer provided personal protection equipment !!
Now you can use the paint man behind the scenes got the yellow that way when it's up in the trees you'll be able to pick it out really easy
That was nicely done, guys. Good job. Watching you two on your stools made me laugh and took me back to my days on the job. I was a nurse in the Cardiovascular Lab (have heart problems, that's where you go) and I lived on my stool. I could scoot around our rooms faster than anyone could walk. Thanks for a wonderful memory, and thanks for sharing this. The skills & talents you two have are fun to watch and I appreciate you bringing us along for the ride. I can't wait to see what's next and to see it cutting limbs.
Sling blade!!! Good morning guys!
Good morning, dirt perfect. Can't wait to see that in action.👍NC
It’s a live and down right awesome you guys nicely done 👍😎🇺🇸 NY
A Few Cuts From Perfect! Thats a great name.
Was watching Mrs DP channel the anniversary trip. I could picture DP opening his luggage and out pops MBHS. I told you to check your bags. Thanks Guys
😂
I am truly in awe! That is a thing of beauty Mike and Aaron! You two rock!!
You’ve created a “Frankenstein-Saw” out of shop parts. It’s beautiful!!
Really some good fabrication. I like to see you guys work together. having fun.
😉👌🏻Excellent concept, should come in handy when clearing trees. I realize what we're seeing is probably still a work in progress (delayed video, which may already be finished) but the only things it's missing is some kind of hydraulic grapple to hold those branches from raining down on the cab, and I would weld a lifting loop for a shackle to hump that 300/400-pound thunder stick around from job to job easier. Can't wait to see this destructor in action! 🤣👌🏻Stock up on Excavator glass.
Mike paint mad max green to match the tile plow.i brag on you all the time how you just think about how to make any thing you need a smart man .and agreat wellder Arron is.
We like to think he’s part of the farming community! Adapt and overcome
My 2 cents worth Is it going to be too hard To see because of tree leaves
Hey man That lid over the motorist assembly needs to be made out of heavy extruded metal You gotta figure I'm getting some kind of error and it to help cool things down it'll get plenty warm underneath the lid you've got now Figure out a way for to breathe some I used to don't give advice but today I felt like it The dogs outside and I had nobody to kick or haul or hat Holler at
Good name THE SAW thanks for the good times together
This is one of the best builds you ever done for some machinery that can you put a bigger blade on it gutting😊
After all said and done use anti seize between the cover and detachment 😊
hello Mike & Aaron & it'''s Randy and i like yours video is cool & Thanks Mike & Aaron & Friends Randy
after seeing it run I can see now the washers you created to hug the blade and it all makes a lot more sense to me. even if it slips it wont fuse to the shaft. well done. I think this is a winner for sure. it might have been iffy but I think the welding really puts it over the top.
One thing to remember is a hydraulic motor can also become a pump. This is relevant because when you stop the blade with the excavator valve, both hoses are deadheaded and the blade will still have turning momentum. There will be no path for the oil to leave the motor, which will create a BIG pressure spike (10,000 psi+). This creates a VERY destructive shock load and can be dangerous. The remedy to this is to make a jumper hose from one motor port to the other. This gives the oil a path to circulate while the blade spools down. This bypass hose should be smaller diameter than the supply hoses to the motor, and is easily made using T fittings going into the motor in place of the JIC to oring fittings in place now.
I am a welder/machinist/mechanic and I really like this build. I also really like the equipment operation videos. Keep up the good work!
Stay tuned
I used to work for a company that built gas compressors for off-shore gas wells. We installed a check valve between the supply line and the return to allow the fans to spool down when the engine was shut down. We also installed a bypass valve to prevent overspending the fans. Your warning reminded me of this.
I love how the two of you finish each other’s sandwiches. 🤣
I really like the barbershop pole paint job. Reminds me that paint motif was from when barber’s were also surgeons. The red represents the blood running down the table leg.
It will always remind you that this thing is dangerous!
Can't wait to see it in action!
Looking Good! Junkyard wars is in effect! It's Alive!!!!! Great Job guys.
Freaking awesome build!! I can't wait to see it whacking trees.
Great video Michael!
Farmer Chris came up with a great project for you guys. Lol😂
...just make Sure Farmer Chris hasn't taken a Life Insurance policy out on you!
OUT FRIGGEN STANDING !! Nice Job guys even if it looks like it's running backwards. On top of everything working it looks smooth and sleek. I Love shop days. 👌👍
Mike, you remind me of my grandfather. That man would see scrap parts. Get an idea in his head . Then come up with a way to make what he needed. It's amazing what you imagine in your head. Fabricate it. Then make it work. You have a great mind and a great talent Mike. You're an inspiration and your videos are a joy to watch. P.S don't worry about those grapes Aaron welded on there, a few coats of paint does wonders. 😉
I can look at a few pictures and videos and I can make it, my brother Greg let me use his wire feed welder and I made bumpers for my 4wheeler and put curated screen in the middle of it to keep the brush out of the front and back of the Polaris Sportsman ATV, I also made covers for the CV joints out of plastic barrels and used my heat gun to form the thick plastic so I could get it to fit around the cv joints and I also had enough plastic body to form flat ends for the bolts to hold it on the A-Arms but I put spacers in between each bolt and nuts so it could move with the A-arms works great, one of my friends told me I should patent it. Just something I thought about and decided to try it out and it worked great. Common sense is all you need and you can make anything work. Your mad max lime green with camouflage wrap would look great on that saw arm and have some one paint American flag on the saw blade that would look cool 🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸❤
You could name 'her' Alecto - she is one of the mythical Greek 'furies' . Could also paint the boom and head some candy striped fluorescent yellow and orange for high visiibility around the tree canopy . I was also impressed recently by Aaron's hammer swinging . I spent many an hour swinging a 16lb hammer on a grizzly in the mines before getting trained up to drill and blast ore . -24C this morning up here in moose land , hope its spring where you are .
MBTS!!! DP is ALWAYS thinking, Man, i gotta give that guy a raise!
I admire your ambition; You guys are awesome. Great JOB!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! You the Man next to the MAN
That blade is spinning true, nice work guys, fun project for sure!!🤗🇺🇸
Problem, What problem? 🤔Just revers engineer the assembly. 🤣 Top shelf videos from the BEST. Thanks for sharing.
It’s alive, good job Dr “Frankenstein” Simon👍
YELLOW...good warning color for falling parts...there is some steel in there that would tear up a dozer. if the blade fails you can just use that to pull the tree down
I’m sure with this being the history channel you guys already thought of it, but in final assembly install the blade like a skil saw so as you run it the nut holding the blade torques tighter as you use it. Great job! Love the shop videos!
That’s so cool. You two are awesome ❤
This series has been great fun to watch! Thanks for your hard and interesting work! Be well, be safe!
Obviously, Ms. DP has not seen the widow maker saw yet, or it would be in the scap bin .😊
MR. DP is has plenty of life insurance.
Great build guys, from random parts and a bit of ingenuity. Looking forward to be in action. Keep up the great work DP and MBTS, always enjoy your videos they are informative, educational, interesting and entertaining.
Mikey, just curious…. Why do you need an attachment to excavate a 1/4” wide trench?
Even though I don’t understand why… it is a thing of beauty!! B
lol 😂
Barber Pole colour scheme, just awesome MBTS (Aaron)
name it Saw-zilla!111
You two can make anything look like it came from a machine shop. A good name would be sawzilla.
Get the hoses mounted on the arm. It will be better if you can get some excavator hard lines and mount.
Mad Max is a awesome build. Ready to see it on the 120. Thank again for all your videos. Have a great weekend. Watching March 22.
'Awesome progress' in spades - great to see the saw in action. Need to patent this Dirt Perfect and MBTS :)
Excellent! Backyard machining, engineering, troubleshooting and solving problems. You guys are just fun to watch and you do great work. The videos are very entertaining also.
Thanks
I'm not gunna lie. I'm always glad there's always a camera between me and your projects.
lol
Mad max, I called it! Great job guys.
Makings of a cool tool. Ready to see it working
Y’all are hellacious fabricators!
I enjoyed following the whole build process. One of the best monster garage operations I have ever seen. Nice job team. That cutting blade is bad to the bone. Really look forward to seeing "limb beast" at work.
Thanks
You're very creative Mike, I like the way you think. That's awesome how you think something up and make it a reality. That saw is the coolest thing I've ever seen hand made by far. Can't wait to see it in action when you're done with it. You guys are doing a fine job on that. You fellas have a good one!
Mike & Aaron you guys did a really sweet build on this project.Love how you willing to plush thparametetrs the
Push the parameters on your skill level with the different machines. Keep sharing your fun projects😊
The Grim Treeper....painted MBTS yellow !!
You have to show that sawblade set up after you get it painted you guys did such a phenomenal job. Great job guys.
Howdy Mr. Dirt, Sometimes the crazy kids do a better job than the adults!! Truly AWESOME!!! Thumbs up! Safety first! Jim
Can't wait to see it in full speed
19:09 Attach the tabs to the removable piece.
OH NO I see an outside weld. Such is life. Lucked out on the fit after the cone grind. Interesting project. Might check the fluid in the small tractor - use a lot to fill the hoses.
Good job Mike
I’ve been in the hospital for 8 days, so I’m catching up. It’s too late now but to line up the two units to be sure they are straight. Next time take a round shaft 1 inch bigger than the largest shaft. Bore each end to fit the working shafts on the pump and gear box. Use this to install and weld everything in alignment. Remove units and install the universal, now you have almost perfect alignment. Maybe next time or if this is not close enough. Put it in your filing cabinet brain.
This is one quality project guys loved every minute of this ❤️
1st rule of assembling stuff, install all bolts before tightening.
You tightened the bolts to the base before installing the bolt in the u-joint.
47:47 Washers should be the sharp side to work, rounded edge to nut or head of bolt. It greatly helps to keep bolt from loosening.
Blade is backwards. Are you planning on some sort of shield for flying objects? Old stumps sometimes have a bunch of nails in them.
Sorry this was my first day building anything 😁
looking forward to the first tree video its very impressive
My productivity is suffering after finding your channel. Enjoyed seeing this come to life and you and man behind the scene’s other adventures. Keep cranking them out and I won’t get anything done.
10-4 on the almost professional. I do believe y’all got something there. Alls left is the finishing up.
I’m so excited to see this thing in action on a job. I think this is one amazing job
Dang guys, that’s pretty enough to patten.. 😂 awesome job!! Stay blessed!!
It’s alive!!
Waiting the final touch 😊
Modify the inside of your cover. With just a small grinder in the area that you need
Another great video guy’s keep them coming please
Good job guys.
Hello from the Netherlands.
wat een fantastische shop video weer
thanks for the video DP en Aaron .
Kind regards, Hollandduck
I'm with Aaron with the paint. Barber pole
Great job guys!
I enjoyed seeing the smiles on your faces!!! Glad it's off to a great start. (This is from a guy that works with slightly higher tolerances...like .000004")
Nice! ❤
I'm glad you added the fillets and caprive nut plates as you inadvertently removed a stress point in the inside corners of the lid. 👍
Logger Wade would be proud. Lol.
quote of the week "Top two guys in the shop" magic!!
“IT’S ALIVE‼️” Great job Dr. Frankensteins 😉🙋♀️💖🇨🇱
Lime green cutting machine!!💚💚🇺🇸
THANK YOU
Amazing project, scares the crap out of me and I am totaly fearless. Really.
Can't wait to see that thing work
Those four mounting holes cut to close to the large opening makes me think you guys used to work for Boeing... lol.
