I’m old and I have stories, but, no one to share them with...so, lucky you. My Mother worked at 7/11, my Father was a big, red haired, hillbilly from Kentucky, everyone called him Big Red, like the gum. I never did, we weren’t friends, he was my Father. A man who moved us out of a coal mining town, so, his boys didn’t have to die, mining coal out of a mountain. He brought us to Michigan, where he used his welding skills to obtain a job at GMC to provide for his family.
Mom was being harassed daily, on her job, by some guy. Evening dinners consisted of stories after stories of this man’s rudeness and persistent bullying. Dad comes home from work, he and I go to pick Mom up from work. I’m in the second or third grade, whatever age that is? Dad backs into a parking stall and he and I wait patiently for Mom to come out, she gets in the car and as she does a random car with two guys in it, block our path, we can’t leave. The passenger door of this car is right in front of our vehicle? Mom says that’s the guy, the driver. Dad taps the horn, nothing, guy is smiling, but, not making any eye contact with us. Dad lays on the horn, still nothing. Dad gets out, Mom grabs his arm and says his name, “Jim” in a hopeless attempt to change his mind. She new all to well, what was about to go down. Dad walks around the car to the drivers side. From my view, I see Dads head coming around to the drivers door and I see the driver step up out of the car, they are nose to nose. Very little was said, both of my fathers big hands wrapped around the man’s neck and they both immediately went to the ground, out of my view. They roll through this busy 7/11 parking lot. They roll back into our view out from behind the cars and they stop, Dads on top, the man laying on his back regretting every decision he’s ever made. My Father is smashing his fists through this man’s face, all the while this man’s head is bouncing off the blacktop with every punch my Father throws. To me, a child, someone who had experienced my Fathers blind drunken rage multiple times and against every member of our family, I thought, for sure my Dad was killing this stranger. He didn’t love this man, he didn’t tuck this man in bed and provide for him, so surely a complete stranger, certainly this man was going to die? At least that what I thought. Mom was screaming and crying, I started crying, we both feared for this man’s life. Mom yells for me to run inside of the store and ask her boss to call the police. Scared, I did what my Mother asked, I run inside, see my Moms Boss and say frantically, Please call the Police, my Dad is fighting a man in the parking lot. There was about six people standing in line, a guy holding a case of beer, uttered a phrase I won’t ever forget, “You Pussy.” Let me elaborate...a grown ass man, looked down at a scared child with tears in his eyes just moments after enduring the trauma of seeing his Father, the man who tucks him into bed at night, beating the living hell out of some poor soul. And without so much as a glance in my direction, he calls me a pussy. That phrase, coming from a stranger, was more traumatic for me, then was that entire parking lot brawl. My Dad picked this man up like a pile of dirty laundry and stuffed the man back inside of his car, got in the man’s car and drove it forward to a parking spot, gets out and walks back to us and gets in our car and we drive home. Dad looks at me in the rear view mirror and asks me, “Why are you crying?” Confused I just nod towards Mom who’s crying and shaking. It was a quiet ride back to our house, but,I never heard of any more stories about this man around our dinner table. I grew up hard...heat treated if you will, from comments like that, from the punishments and beatings by an alcoholic, abusive, Father and simply from being raised in a poverty stricken suburb of Detroit. Wasn’t really trying to make a point, simply sharing a fighting story based off the comedians fighting story of her step father. If there is any point, I guess it would be that no one truly wins a fight. Some will say your Dad did. The guy at the bus stop holding the umbrella did, but, really they don’t. Good people at some point regret having to lay hands on another human being. I’ve been in numerous fights in my life. It’s an unfortunate way of life in the “hood” physically, I’ve only lost one, from a sucker punch. Technically my opponent was worse for ware than I, but, I let my guard down and the perfectionist in me makes me call that one a loss. But as I’ve aged, It’s obvious, no one wins a physical altercation. Even the so called winner will suffer that, maybe mentally, possibly physically. It just sucked seeing my Dad beat the hell out of a man and then to have a stranger call me that word. In retrospect I should’ve told Dad, we both could’ve beat that guys ass and took his beer from him, but, cops were on the way...we made the right choice. Lol incidentally I wasn’t proud of my Father that day. I simply feared him, even more than normal. Lots more stories in that life, thanks for listening.
Hassan's bit was amazing. I was living in the US when 9/11 happened. Studying abroad at a university in the South. The day that it happened the university advised all Muslim students not to leave home until they can assess the situation. I remember staying locked at home for two weeks. Some of my Middle Eastern friends stayed home for months. Every day there was a report on the news of people being targeted for violence. It was a really scary time in the US

Hasan's monologue really hit the feels man 😢
I feel like all children of immigrant and refugee parents have that experience and talk with our folks at some point.
I was seven, and my mom as an Asian woman had the audacity to be elected to lead the local school board. the paper ran a story and that sparked a month of death threats through phone calls and the mail, car windows and house windows being broken, and spray painting.
It was a valuable lesson about how life really was.
When I listened to Hassan's I started crying because of how it's so real. How many muslims like him and I have to go through this

2:08 salesgirl: exactly as planned
That first lady's story reminded of a sketch by Key & Peele. The one where Jordan (salesman) keeps on hanging up on Keegan (customer). Keegan buys the product just because of how much the hanging up pissed him off. Excellent sale strategy.
the CC saying gibberish when Hasan speaks Hindi beats the purpose of this video.........
Mine said "speaks foreign language".
Mine says he speaks gibberish too. I just sent feedback to CZcams, they need to do better than this. Much better.
@@canismajor1186 At 8:36 the subtitles say "(speaks gibberish)" ( czcams.com/video/QlIcb_PKoTQ/video.html ). Later, at 9:39, it says "(speaks a foreign language)".
His Hindi isn't that great but yeah it's not gibberish.
I think this was when community translations were a thing. Ideally it's the uploader that puts the subtitles. So it can either be a random person who put the subtitles or the channel owner. But the channel owner has to approve. So they're at fault, not CZcams.

Y'all misinterpreted the title it didn't say '11 minutes of comedians making jokes about racism' it said '11 minutes of comedians dunking on racism' and the last dude didn't have to be funny because it wasn't supposed to be because that was his experience yea he made a few jokes but it was about what he went through and if you had a problem let's discuss
the truest form of comedy is being able to express your trauma from early life in an attempt to inspire and make you think.
You seem like a level headed individual. Do you think that if there was a WHITE comedian in this video, would the comment section be divided? Or would they all be in agreement for all of the stories in the video? And I'm also asking if you believe that white people can feel prejudiced or have racial slurs flung at them. Can white Americans feel threatened by racism? Or are they immune to it.
This is an awesome comment. Thank you. Also, that last dude is named Hasan Minhaj. 😉
Actually, if you wanna be REAL technically, all that life experience was leading up to his big punchline that really snapped the tension: "dad, youre the guy that will argue with the cashier at COSTCO because he wont let you return underwear." So yeah, nothing wring with sprinkling in seriousness & funny stuff. I doubt that line would have been as hilarious without the context before it
He made light of a traumatic situation....that's the seeds of comedy. And I don't remember the last time I cried during a comedy routine, but that dude is talented. Like I can't even comprehend level of talented....
Aida’s story was actually really sad. The single incident was funny but I can’t imagine how horrible that was to live with.
