just to set things straight its actually a Tewhatewha (traditionally used to symbolise Tumatauenga, The God Of War) hence the army using it as a mace to symbolise the New Zealand "ARMY BAND"
I am from Poland (Central Europe), and I have to admit, that this is for me, quite interesting, fascinating, and at the same time, also "strange experience". Greetings! ;-)
Guess you must have missed it at 2:28 and again at 2:53 and yet again at 4:18 etc etc. Not to mention the trombone slides moving. Take another look perhaps. And no doubt I'm a little biased in saying this seeing as I'm a proud Kiwi, but the they are not just good, they are bluddy brilliant!
it makes me sorry that I am not a Kiwi oh well, I can watch and listen and just pretend I am a Kakapo parrot :) I told my grandson who is in one of the U S Army bands that he should observe these people for a year ) this is my fav band :)
Have you ever watched the haka at an All Blacks game and noticed the actions don't sync with the words? The ear piece might also have been to hear what the commentator for TV was saying to time the beginning of the piece.
Good, but I dont know how they get that sound when their fingers aren't moving on the valves of the instruments! I take it they played on a backing track first
So why did they all need an ear piece in? That job is for the bloke with the mace! You can hear snare drums and the sticks are inches from the skins! It really isn't that difficult to see and work out. Honest
I don't want to get in an argument but if you look at 2.24 the side drummer isn't hitting the skins of his drum! Also The Royal Marines dont have to wear ear pieces when they play! I play in a band and believe me the fingering on the cornets are out of sync.No doubt at the Edinburgh Tattoo they played for real
i'm proud to be a New Zealander
Me as well

Reminds me of a mix of a traditional British Army marching band and an American University Marching band :)

Have you ever heard of the speed of sound? Light and speed travel at vastly different speeds so when you see it its happening but the sound is behind
Go new zealand
When do you come again to the Netherlands?
