  • Disgraced ex-Post Office boss Paula Vennells has admitted she “made mistakes” but denied there was a conspiracy to cover up the Horizon scandal.
The 65-year-old ordained priest began her evidence at the Horizon IT inquiry on Wednesday by apologising for “all that subpostmasters and families have suffered”.
Tory MP Paul Scully joins Talk’s Alex Phillips to discuss this further.

Amazing how critical information is so hard to remember.
When a captain is told there is a hole in the ship and the ship sinks later, the captain would recall being told about the hole. Even if they had another crew member saying there was not a hole, the captain would investigate the conflicting reports.
The postmasters were expected to make up the shortfalls from their own money, why shouldn’t Fujitsu and PO bosses have to pay since some even got bonuses during this travesty.

The computer invented the missing money. There was no missing money. However, the sub-postmasters were tricked or threatened into 'replacing' that money in the Post Office coffers. When the profits were announced, Vennells - for one - got some hefty bonus payments. Technically, that money was not the Post Offices to give; Vennells - if she is that so-tearfully sorry - should pay back any bonuses she was given to be added to the compensation scheme.
    Of course, this won't happen.

The next day his wife was awoken by a Post Office Audit team to suddenly announce that they were now 40,000 quid in the black and Rudkin sacked etc. They ( the post office and Fujitsu then denied Rudkin had ever been to the Bracknell HQ and the visitor book vanished and emails were deleted) Their lives were ruined that day because of what Mr Rudkin saw and heard. WHO at POL and Fujitsu ordered that REVENGE audit? Someone high up ordered all that to happen. Why has this not been brought up in the enquiry?
